Title: Pirates Of The Caribbean...2
Description: Why, why, why?!

trufaith - December 29, 2003 10:56 AM (GMT)
I want them to make a second one, but I'm just worried that it's going to turn out like crap, like most disney sequels.
Except 2 hours with Orlando, not going to complain about that. (Still on Orlando high I just finshed watching Ned Kelly)

What is wrong with directors these days? Chasing after sequels that should never be caught. Just because the first one did well, doesn't mean a sequel will.

Have you heard of the making of Pirates of the Caribbean 2? Yep, they're making one alright. What can they possibly do to add to the story? It ended perfectly, an ending to a great movie, can they not just LEAVE IT AT THAT?!

This frustrates me. I wish Johnny Depp, Kiera Knightly (sp?) and Orlando Bloom hadn't agreed, but unfortunately, they did.

I'll be curious to see what they can come up with for a sequel. Maybe, hopefully, we'll be surprised to find a good sequel, so as the first one won't be ruined, because I personally loved it. I have to say though, I won't mind more close ups of dear Johnny and Orlando. Maybe their presences alone will make the movie just alright.

Does anyone agree?

Lessy - December 28, 2003 07:20 AM (GMT)
I agree in some parts.
The ending was good for the first movie...
but yet again...I reallly can't wait untill The 2nd one comes out. It really sound kinda cool!
^_^

Aurora - December 28, 2003 03:31 PM (GMT)
I agree that sequels are often worse than the original movie *thinks Matrix*, but in this case I couldn't care less, to be honest.

Two hours more Captain Jack Sparrow, who am I to complain?

bludst@ndrozez - December 28, 2003 05:24 PM (GMT)
hehe...

hear hear! dont forget Will Turner (thats right init??? *prays*)

but i also agree that i cannot possibly think what they could add to the story. unless jack sparrow realizes hes in love with Elizabeth (thats right... i think...) and goes and tries to kill will. But ugh thats BAD! bad plot. *hits self on head*

anyways... please excuse my ramblings. :)

but yea... ill go see it anyways cuz the guys are in it. ^_^. If they actually release it over here. bleh.

I actually thought Orlando might wait for the script to be written before agreeing... But if Johnny Depp agrees to make it, he must have his own idea about it, and Orlando following in his stride does make sense in a way...

.JuLEs. - December 28, 2003 06:28 PM (GMT)
I just didn't think it'd be like Johnny to agree to do the same roll twice.. he usually doesn't do that you know?! All the sequels just mess it up for me.

*thinks Legally Blonde 2*

dani_moonstar - December 29, 2003 12:53 AM (GMT)
actually i do want a sequel...i would love more from jack sparrow and will!

Hmm... hafta say I've got mixed feeling on this one. If they can come up with a good plot, I'm all for it, but as has been mentioned, what else can be added? I'll definatly be going to see it, though, I'll admitt. I just hope they go about this carefully. I'm bettign it won't be near as good as the first one, and that they're only doing it because of the sucess of the first one, and don't have any really good ideas, but hopefully I'll be eating my words when it comes out. It could either be sheer brilliance or utter crap. Who knows?

Aurora - January 22, 2004 11:09 AM (GMT)
This is either madness or brilliance

Yes, I'm bored. And when I'm bored, I start saying senseless things.

I don't have anything against a sequel at all, in fact, I'm looking forward to it very much! :) I don't think that Johnny Depp would sign up for it if he wasn't at least 99.9 % sure that it would be a great sequel. Same for Orlando.

Perfect explination.
I love the movie and I'd love to see a sequel but I hope they're in their right mind about this.

I would think so with Johnny, but actually Orlando admitted in the interview that he had read no script and really didn't know at all what it was going to be about.

And I also read JC Chaze (very mispelled.. you know the N'Sync guy?) auditioned for a part. It didn't say if he made it or not. I'm hoping not. I mean, pop boy band gone actor? Ehh.. doesn't always go so good. No offense to anyone who might like him..

Gotta admit I'm starting to get very excited for a sequel. Need a good drool.

Please god... dont do this to us.

ugh. If he gets in... I'm gonna start crying.

oh yea, excuse my ignorance, but when is this movie supposed to be coming out? so that i can sorta add 6 months and figure out when itll come out here. I hate living in europe. You have to wait for everything to come out. yuck.

Yeah, I know, but I s'pose they trust the writers. ^_^ even though Johnny wants to kill them ^^;;

Hah, great blooper.

I do too, and I trust Gore to not produce a crappy film. Lots of trust going on here. If it is utter crap, I will have major trust issues *sigh*

Caution_flammable - January 31, 2004 04:27 PM (GMT)
I agree with most of you guys, I wouldn't mind a sequel as long as it can live up to the first one...which is doubtful, but Orli for two more hours w/ his sexxy accent, how could I resist?

Reannon - January 31, 2004 08:18 PM (GMT)
It of course depends on the quality of the script...very few sequels have been good..but johnny depp is usually pretty smart in his choice of roles...I guess we have to trust his feelings on this? Hope it's good..cause I absolutely LOVED the first one...then again, I also liked the first Matrix *sigh* <_<

I'm so looking forward to a second one but I must pray it doesnt turn out crappy. ^_^

Kaylee Ann - April 10, 2004 07:25 PM (GMT)
*sigh* Everything has to be made into a sequel these days.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love another POTC because Johnny Depp would probably end up making it just as brilliant--something could just go terribly wrong, as sequels often do. *thinks Matrix as well* o.O;

WhiteAndie - May 1, 2004 04:33 PM (GMT)
i guess that sequels are something dangerous...

I mean, for one hand it could be a completly crap, or for the other hand it would be great.

DOn't get me wrong but i just loved X2 lol

anyway...

i guess that the mistake that Matrix did, was to put an over reality story, they just let them rid away, and far far far away from the very first point of the movie..

Ok, i confused you, sorry :P

LoL

i have some hope with POTC2 i mean, i just hope that they won;t do an overreacted kind of story, just the light hearted kind of story with they started...

lol

luvly

It's odd how often those two traits coincide.

It's not two more hours of Jack and Will but four! That's right, they're gonna be back-to-back sequels. Let's just hope it isn't completely ruined. I'm hoping it has more of an Xmen effect. I mean, those movies were both amazing and I'm still practically praying to every God for the third one to finally come out. Stop filming and Broadwaying Hugh!

Celandine - September 13, 2004 06:12 AM (GMT)
I forgot who asked this question, but I found out that the movie is supposed to come out in 2006.

Also, I'm pretty sure Mick Jagger (the rock star Depp based Jack Sparrow on) is expected to make an appearance in the film as Jack's father. That should be interesting...verrry interesting...:potc:

I actually have great hope for this sequel. Johnny Depp turned an good movie into a fantastic one the first time, so I figure I will be optimistic about it. And hey, if it bombs, we'll still have the first one to look back on and love, then we could just pretend that the second one never happened :yay: .

Yep, but it was Keith Richards, not Mick jagger ;)

What I think could be interesting is a sequel that concentrates on Jack's past. Like, who he really is, where he comes from, how he became the most famous pirate in the Caribbean - coz, it might just be me, but I don't think we know all that much about Jack Sparrow - pardon, Captain Jack Sparrow yet. But I've heard rumours that Barbossa's daughter (where the heck did he get her from all of a susdden?!) is going to go after Will and Elizabeth. I just hope it's not true. And as much as I love Orlando and Keira, I'm not too keen on happy family Turner either. Like I said, a Capt. J.S. based sequel could be great :)

Oh, oops, that's who I meant, lol.

Whoa, Barbossa has a daughter? Who would spare disgust for that man enough to give him a daughter? Bleh. Well that should be interesting...yeah they should do a background look at Captain Jack...the happily ever after stuff with Will and Elizabeth would probably get old fast. ;-)

 yeah, that's what I thought, too. I can't remember where I got it from, but apparently a member of the crew has created a rumour like this on the internet. But well... I can't really see this work. I mean, hello? First Barbossa stirs up trouble, then his daughter starts bitching... that's just as boring as the happy family Turner-stuff.
But well, I guess we'll see.

Celandine - January 7, 2005 05:53 PM (GMT)
Yeah...I hope that if that rumor is true that they do it a good bit of justice.

In recent news...I was browsing online and have seen many websites saying that a PotC 3 is also in order. I guess Gore is filming the sequels back-to-back. My only question is: What more do they have that would merit ANOTHER sequel? *doesn't know if this would be an appropriate time to cry* I sincerely hope they don't kill it...though if there is Johnny Depp, we can still have some hope.

Generally I would agree, but just so long as Jerry Bruckheimer has anything to do with it, it should be good. Hopefully he knows what he's doing. Has anyone seen CSI?

Question now is, does he know what he's doing? Same question goes for Gore Verbinski.

*rushes excitedly into the thread* Guys, I have an awesome update for this movie! According to Yahoo Movies, it's actually coming out on or near July 7, 2006, a whole almost three months earlier than we thought! :shine: So that means we don't have to be as impatient, lol. Oh oh oh, and I thought I would share part of the article with you all, it's from Yahoo movies:

QUOTE
"Premise: (3/24/04) The exact details of this film aren't yet known, but it's likely to depict the continuing adventure of Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp), and the young couple (Bloom, Knightley) who discovered they have piracy in their blood and hearts in the first movie. (8/4/05) Few details about the plot have surfaced, but it has been said that Will Turner's father, "Bootstrap" Bill, returns, having been dumped into the sea following Barbossa's mutiny aboard the Black Pearl. Meanwhile, Jack Sparrow must contend with Davey Jones (he of the famous locker), to whom he owes a debt."

Ahaha, Davy Jones...that should be interesting...and I KNEW IT! I knew that Bootstrap wasn't dead! :yahoo

Kat - November 18, 2005 09:34 PM (GMT)
