I'm surprised there isn't a topic about this already!
I just finished it. I loved it - except the epilogue, that is.
So, what did *you* think?
edit: right, this is supposed to be Potter 7... I apologise, reading for so long must've turned my brain to mush...
Haha, I think the epilogue was a little too much, but it was sweet. I cried when my favourite was killed though. :[ I thought the book lacked some of JK Rowling's other previous conventions, and I think that a lot of the events were a little too set up to happen, like everything was really based on chance with how they would get out of danger and stuff, but I have to say, it was really entertaining, and I sort of feel hollow now because it's the last book ahaha.
Hey all, I'll try and get Mena to edit the topic of this when she gets a chance so that it says Potter 7 instead of 5.
I actually liked the epilogue. After all the grief in the previous chapter I think it needed to end with something happy or I would have been even more depressed. Plus, since in theory this is supposed to be a children's book I would think that wee happy moment was desperately needed for some closure for the kiddies. The three main characters she killed in the last battle really broke my heart. I am still kinda angry about it.
But, I probably liked this book the least out of the Potter series. There were some parts of it that were downright boring. And, it seemed for a great portion in the middle that it had no clear cut pathway, it was just sorta there for the sake of being there. I don't really know how to explain it.
All the action scenes were great and as for Ron and Hermione....about Goddamn time.
Of course I still loved it and was sad to see it all end, the pain is still too near about the deaths even though I had partially prepared myself for it.
