Name: Samantha Carlisle. Known as Sam to those close, and Samma to the closest and privileged.

Physical Description: She has curly (relaxed curls) auburn (dark red) hair that goes past her shoulders. There must be seven different shades of red. Her eyes change with reflection between green and blue. She is very freckled, especially on her arms, face and shoulders, because they are what see the most sun. Despite the freckles, she never tans (especially in Scotland, where Hogwarts is) and is always pale. Small-chested, so she can get away with camisole-type necklines. Full lips. Usually her cheeks are red. She stands at five foot six inches, so a normal height. She's athletic (on the Quidditch team).

Personality Description: She's smart. Just behind Draco and Hermione, but she's up there. Sometimes she wonders why she wasn't placed in Ravenclaw (she loves spending time with the Ravenclaws, though). She's quiet normally, and doesn't really talk with people she's not closely aquainted with. But, as typical as it is, she opens up with her friends and housemates, and people she's really mad at (by the way, Scottish temper on this one. Beware!). She's very protective and passionate about things that she loves (eg. her family, friends, animals, team). She has a developed vocabulary and, even at school, people are known to ask her to speak English. Its one of the reasons she doesn't talk as much as others, and she dumbs it down for her friends. She loves to laugh and giggle, and usually likes spending time with boys rather than girls whose main conversations are about dress and boyfriends and unimportant (to her, at least). However, there is always a needed time with her best girlfriend to winddown and be incredibly girly. She's very laidback. Loves to just grab a book or her homework or a notebook and sit out at the lake or next to the fireplace if its too cold or dark. She's constantly writing letters to her family.

Style: Fashionable, yet simple. A lot of jeans and simple shirts. Likes funny graphic tees and plain ones.

Fears/Dislikes: He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named (obviously), not getting good marks on her reports, being embarrassed by/in front of someone she likes/admires, dying without having lived (loved/been loved), losing her family, but more immediate fears are her report cards (she's a bit of a perfectionist) and rats. She keeps a pet cat named Scout (all white, with black 'stockings' and around her eyes. The name, she got from a Muggle book that her mother gave her called "To Kill A Mockingbird". The family didn't abandon all things Muggle, her mother still taught them when she could, and gave them games, books, took them to town a lot. She always said 'You need to know.' 'Just in case, dear.'" Worst subject - Defense against the dark arts. She just doesn't get it.

Favorites/Likes: She loves animals. Scout is with her always when she's outside going towards her 'spot' (by a large rock that gives her shade and grass). Also, loves the dogs and others at their house back home. She loves Christmas -- her family is her life. She loves chocolate, but to her fruity candies are better. Her favorite school subject will always be a tie between Potions and Transfiguration. She liked the Astronomy Tower before she realised its uses late at night... *hem*

House to be in at Hogwarts: Gryffindor all the way, baby! Well, possibly Ravenclaw if you need it.

Job you would like in the Wizarding world: Healer, so she interns with Madame Pomfrey, and overhears a lot (people often wonder how she knows so much - about people or knowledge - and its just that she shuts up and listens rather than talking up a storm all the time). That or a job at the Ministry. She grew up with knowledge about Muggle society so something with that would work.

Magical Family background: Between her parents, she is closest to her father, John, who is the wizard in the family. Her mother, Catherine (Cate for short), a muggle, worked as a nurse in the local hospital, and together they'd had five children. Cate took well to magic, though not right away. Sam is the middle child (the rest are brothers Matthew, Jack, Jamie and Dylan).

Matt, older than Sam by 3 years, followed in their mother's footsteps and studied to become a surgeon. He is very determined to be the "greatest surgeon Mungo's has ever known" and sometimes, someone needs to smack him around, reminding him that he's still Matthew Carlisle when it gets down to it.

Jack, named John after his father, is Sam's best friend. He's older by just ten months, and they know each other inside and out. They are both very competitive, especially with each other, but uncannily protective also. Jack, built like a beater (which is what he was), so he was sought after by girls, who had to go through his little sister's eagle eyes first. Likewise vice versa. He has his heart set on becoming an auror, and his grades (excepting when he's in a tiff with McGonagoll) were better than most. He made people realise that he worked for those grades, though.

Jamie, short for James, is three years younger than Sam. He's a bit of a troublemaker, and admires Fred and George Weasley.

Dylan, the baby, had just entered Hogwarts when she was in her seventh year. He was the only other Carlisle besides Sam to inherit their father's hair (though all of them have the trademark changing green eyes, pale skin and freckles. the rest have dark, straight, thick hair) and would take after Jack's keenness for Quidditch.

The family itself, of Scottish descent, is very tightly-knit. They had a sort of unspoken idea of 'if you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us'. They're pretty well known, but have tried to keep out of the 'spotlight', especially ever since the Dark Lord came out the first time. Its one of the reasons they stay at a small magical village in Scotland (while her mother and father Floo and apparate to work) instead of busy London.

Physical Description: Short much like a hobbit at 5 ft 2 with curly brown or red hair that she hates so she straightens it a lot. She has big blue eyes that sparkle when she smiles/laughs. She is also curvy, but not big, she's about average weight (150ish pounds). She thinks she's a tad bit fat at times, but knows that she is fine the way she is.

Personality Description: Shy when you first meet her, then can't get her to shut up lol, out-going, extremely friendly too nice sometimes, great with kids, romantic, sensitive, good listener, loves to give advice, very funny and does random things sometimes.

Style: Comfy, yet casual. Dresses up when she wants to impress or is bored

Fears/Dislikes: Men who hit on me with corny pick up lines while I'm waiting in line for food (that has happened many times), veggies esp carrots, perverts, people who are horny 24/7, never really serious, heights, needles, roller coasters, people are always late, LIARS big time, cheaters, being poked lol, slow drivers in front of you in traffic, ya know the normal things lol.

Elodie's parents were killed by Voldemort many years ago when he was in power. She then went to live with her Muggle-born uncle Clayton whom is her father's brother. He is still surprised by all the magic that she can do. He is also very overprotective of her and doesn't like any wizard that comes around. He means well, but is protective.

Elodie's dad (Michael Edwards) was a Muggle teacher while her mom (Sarah Williams-Edwards) was a witch who was the Head Auror at the Ministry before they were both killed by Lord Voldemort. She had no other siblings, just herself and her cat. After her parents were killed, just like with Harry, Hagrid found her and took me to her muggle uncle, her father's brother who was a principal at an elementary school. Elodie's Uncle Clayton is tall with red hair and green eyes. He's book-smart and took her schooling seriously. When she got her letter to Hogwarts, he was sad to see her go, but knew that she was a witch. He's always been supportive of her dreams and doesn't like anyone making her mad or pushing her around. She considers him her real father. Clayton is also very much a bachelor, house is messy, not good at cooking, but he makes up for it by being there for her.

When Clayton meets Elodie's man (whomever that is), he's weary, but trusts her judgement. But he does warn him, "If you hurt my niece in anyway shape or form, you will regret it immediately because believe me, you don't want to see her or myself mad. We're Edwards', we're stubborn and feisty," Clayton tells him.

What year is it set in?

There is no specific year until about chapter 7 or 8 because the prologue begins with the night of Voldermort killing Harry's parents and Emily's parents and then after that chapter 1 is pretty much year 1, then ch.2 year 2, ch.3 year 3, ch.4 and Ch.5 year 4, then ch.6 year 5, ch.7 year 6, and then from there we start in year 7 fully telling the story and then telling the story of after Hogwarts and what happens. Pretty much the chapters including the years of the books we've already read, are recaps and letting you see how Emily and her friends fit into the story. Here is a taste of the prologue to give you an idea.

Prologue

“Lilly, James! We’re here!” Jack Potter and his wife Kate Potter said as they walked into his brother’s house with their baby daughter Emily Potter holding her teddy bear in her arms.

“Hello, Jack, Kate. Hello Elizabeth, do you want to see your cousin Harry?” James asked as he tickled Emily in her mother’s arms.

“Sure, I’ll take her up there.” Lilly said coming into the room and she took Emily up stairs with her teddy bear and put her in Harry’s crib. They both were the same age except Emily was older than him by a few months, she was born in April when he was born in July..............

He had thought his job was done but he forgot one child who would remember that night for the rest of her life because of her nightmares. She would never know who the cloaked man was and she could barely remember that night, but she knew what happened because of one last spell her mother put on her that night to one day remember that night and one day she would remember it all vividly and tell her story..................

5 years later……

After that fateful night she was given to her mother’s brother and his wife, as a child from Dumbledore, they both were child-less. Her uncle was a wizard unlike her aunt who was a muggle, but she embraced the wizarding world and understood it, because she loved her husband and her niece............

6 years later……

“No, no! Mummy! NO!!” Emily yelled as she thrashed around in her bed dreaming her constant nightmare of that fateful night years ago, her dreams were hazy on all the details but she could still hear the screams of her parents and her aunt and uncle in her dreams.

“Emily. Emily! Love, EMILY!” Uncle Jim yelled at her shaking her awake.

“NO!!!” She yelled as she woke up with a tears and a cold sweat running down her face.

“It’s me, Uncle Jim, your home and your alright. You had the nightmare again?” He asked as he held her in her arms as she cried.

“Yes, I could hear them screaming, daddy, mummy, uncle James, aunt Lilly, I heard them all screaming. I heard his voice and his evil laugh I couldn’t make out what he was saying and I couldn’t see what was happening but I could hear everything. It scared me.” Emily cried in her uncle’s arms.........

There is a taste of it and that is not all of it either, trust me there is plenty more. So, don't think that was the whole prologue given to you, it was a taste. I usually don't write dark fics but I wanted to give one a try this time and why not use Harry Potter and his dark story to write one. Ok, I hope that answered your question Sammi.

Oh, pick me, pick me! I've never been in a Harry story before!!

Name: Amaryllis Ruby Garnet

Physical Description: 5'5" and 105 ibs, very pale complexion, blue-grey-green-eyes, curly red hair just past my shoulders

Personality Description: well, it depends. From the eyes of a classmate, I am not actually the 'committed' type. i study, but I am very good in subjects i like and always whine about the others... I don't dig everything. Since we're in Hogwarts, I think i oughta tell ya I am freaking SCARED of riding a broomstick... really scared! (apparation all the way, babe)I am friendly and very sensitive with my friends, but I am not the kind who has lots of friends. i prefer a small bunch of good ones. I can keep secrets, and I tend to become a true geek over my passions... I am interested in the world out there, curous about what happens around me. Oh, and I'm smart. (lol)

Just in case you're wondering, my wand is 12 inches long, laurel and mermaid hair, semi flexible. laurel is tye wood of poets, because I am sensitive and creative, and mermaid hair because I am a dreamer, but I can be fierce, and also, I can easily be alone like mermaids in the water. I can speak a bit of Mermaish, just a few words.

Style: we don't have uniforms? Well, I can blend muggle style with wizard style, I like jewels and long robes, but I also enjoy wwearing high heels, tight pants and short skirts when I can. I tend to go for dark colors, blue and black expecially.

Fears/Dislikes: I fear failure, and it's an irony since I am always late and procrastinating stuff and so on the skin of my teeth for basically anything! Oh, and I am very concerned that some harm could be done to my friends and family. I dislike rude people and class differences... if i hear the word 'mudblood' I might seriously loose it. Oh, I cannot say you-know-who's name, of course, but I respect very much those who do.

My favourite less favourite classes are: Care of the magical creatures, all the way! It's just that i fear animals, I don't like them to touch me, I'm not prissy, just... you know. ;) and Herbology is a bit annoying because you get so dirty. I know, I'm a spoit girl.

Favorites/Likes: well, I like to be good in class, and all about magic that suits me. I could spend days in the Charms class! Then, I guess I like the usual, being with my friends for a good laugh and a chat, but i also enjoy the quiet of the library and a good book, as long as it doesn't mean to be alone in a place at night, because I don't feel safe enough.

My favourite subject is Charms (I got lucky since professor Flitwick is the head of my house, aha!), but I like Transfiguration too... and Divination, I don't like it but I'm surprisingly good. Defense is okay, I guess.

House to be in at Hogwarts: Ravenclaw, absolutely! All I'net tests I've done put me there.

Magical Family background (pretty much your fictional family background, how you are witch/wizard, who gave you the powers, who is famous in yuor family, etc.): well, it's a bit weird. See, my mom, Ruby Deva is a witch, quite a powerfl one, and she descents from a famous family, still, we are not so 'high regarded' because only the famales in my family are witches, while men and sons are always squibs. It's a female kind of power, and also, since we have never been close-minded right because of this fact, mny of my aunts married muggle men, while many of my squib aunts married witches.
My dad, Rufus Garnet, is a muggle, an anthropologist, so he digs magic and he's quite competent with it. I was raised in the muggle world, but always studying magic and keeping in touch with my magic relatives. My dad works at the Ministry sometimes when they need extenal help, and knows some of the teachers of Hogwarts, and he is a friend of Remus Lupin because they worked together on the field with werewolves when they were younger. My mom writes for the 'Phophet', but she got sacked because she sided with Hogwarts against the ministry, even dad hard troubles for it. Yeah, she cannot keep her mouth shut...

famous relatives? some great aunt named Viola.. but what matters is that i have a lot of cousins that are both wizards and muggles and we are very close, no matter what. I have a younger sister, Margaret Lou Garnet, she's a year younger than me and she's in Hufflepuff.

One that is a type-o, it is Emily. I had started to write her name out as Elizabeth, but I changed it to Emily. Sorry, will fix that.

Those 50 million dots aren't in the prologue those are just breaking up the parts of the prologue I showed you because there is more to those parts and I didn't want the whole prologue in here yet until I posted the story. This was a taste of the prologue not the whole thing, that's why there are the dots. They mean that part continues on more. Sorry about the confusion and thanks for the advice.

She somewhat slow in the trust department cause she knows that someone can hurt her in the long run….but once she trust someone she is bonded for life! She is the nicest girl in the school and is willing to help out anyone who is in trouble. She has a quiet but short fused temper and she will let you know when she’s mad. She does act bratty and cocky at times…but she knows not to push it too far with people. She has the greatest sense of humor ever! Miranda is an only child of Jean and Dennis Jackson. They have taught her everything from right and wrong to the value of a good dollar. Jean and Dennis have attended Hogwarts, but both were sorted to Gryffindor…which was odd at the time. Even though they are the richest, both Jean and Dennis work for the Ministry in the Charms department.
