Through Heaven's Eyes

At first I thought he hath forsaken me,
but I was wrong in judgement.
I saw nothing but a void,
a void I filled with selfishness.

In childlike advances,
my mind doubted that which my heart knew true.

He tried to grasp my attention,
by showing me his glory.
But with blinded eyes,
I condemned him.

Then a journey to an ancient land,
one of spilled blood.
Spoke to me
and told me the secrets,
of this my one true lord.

Miracles had happened,
things I couldn't ignore.
People I loved love me,
but loved their saviour above all.

They live with him now as angels,
and eagerly await our reunion.
Every day I struggle,
they help me to see him and accept his strength.
His glory, his divinity.

He is my shephard,
my saviour.
I will always follow.
From yesterday, today and forevermore
after tomorrow.

Those we love never truly leave us,
the guide us to our destiny.
Our reason of existance.
To serve him and be as one in his glory.

Through Christ, we see the light.

Like the nun who heard an angelic voice,
tell her to rest her head.
She died with peaceful face,
and was found weeks later,
not a part destructed.
Not by wild beast, weather,
or time.
Her body intact.

Like the nun I say 'amen'
and hope that I may do all I can.
To join those I've lost along the way.
And those I will inevitably lose.

My father, my mother,
my sisters, my brother.
My cousins, my friends,
my neices and nephews.

'Amen' we say, and are one.
For the Lord is the good shephard.
He guides us.

Only through his eyes,
the eyes of heaven.
We will truly see the light.

Oh Pat, that was beautiful. I lost my grandpas within a month of one another earlier this year and one was like a second father to me and to this day, I still grieve over him.
