To Love What You Hate
© Samantha J. Reynard
When you love someone,
or maybe even something,
it seems that you are done,
waiting for your heart's bell to ring.
But then you sit and wait
for those same feelings to return
You feel like you've taken the bait
and your heart to mend is what you yearn.
It is then your feelings grow to disdain
or at least, that's how it would seem
For you always think of him in vain
But hate is not all you deem.
To hate what you love,
it's not a crime
but neither is it a feeling from above
You must conquer it in your own time.
It's more a state of confusion
You don't want to be of shame
But neither do you want an elocution
Maybe simply silence should be your name.
But silence will happen never
There will always be noise
you will love what you hate forever
Love and Hate will be your poise.
Very deep, very accurate.....
I love how you begin the story with the option:

It makes it recognizable for any reader, because we all have something in our live that we love and hate at the same time...

For me personally this is the best line in the poem, no matter were you are it is never silent, say it be for noise around you or noise from your thoughts. There are always whispers around somewehere.
Very nice poem, and again for me personally, defenitely one of the best I have read lately.
Love, Moon
Thank you!
Its funny, I wrote this as a freshman in high school, so I was fourteen... and its recently become so true to a certain situation.
This is definitely my favorite poem that I've written...
I'm glad that you like it, and ecstatic that you relate!
