Title: Why not?
Description: my little graphic playing
Mena - June 4, 2006 12:29 PM (GMT)
Well, whoa, we have some seriously talented people on this board, i was simming through all of your works last night and I abruptly realized it in full force.
I thought about adding mine... I love making banners, blends and such, although I never posted them before because I didn't think it was a big deal, but, why not?
The first ones were made using Photoshop on Windws XP, the latest with Photoshop CS" on MacOSX, that I haven't learnt to use properly, yet.
:)
These are my old banners for White Lies and Wild Nights.

Well well well...
It may have been long, but it was sure as hell welcome, Mena!
And, you say
I'm original?
I just love all of this!
Oh, and shouldn't you add this:
Faeries and strength... ?
I really like your Dark Light Tales blends. They capture so much of their parts of the story. Especially poor Billy's scars!
And, that Da Vinci Code poster. I'd never thought about it, but Viggo would have been PERFECT for Langdon... I just watched A History of Violence and the whole time I was transistioning from :cloud#9: to  to  Quite the versatile character, he is.
Bring more when you can, darling.
:heartbeat:

Wow Mena: in-freaking-credible
I'm especially loving the Moulin Rouge one, as well as.... hell; all of them!
I envy your talent, dearling- it inspires me to get my bum back into writing and banner/graphic creating mode! So thanks for that as well ;)
Ttfn!

Eh, I thought of him right when I began reading the book.. I would have enjoyed the movie more, if he was in.
And, well, a History of violence was the death of me... my best friend went to see it just to stare at my face... I will never look at a staircase the same way again. :18-combo:
Thank you, ladies!

Kit-Kat - June 4, 2006 11:57 PM (GMT)
Mena! You're an effing genius! So many people on here are genius's in banenr making and Mena, remind me to ask you to make some for me sometime! (don't worry Sammi, you are still my #1 banner mistress!)

Four more blends.
These two, inspired by Ambrosia's Under Your Spell. (obsessed much? I just loved that story!)
Based on my story, White Lies and Wild Nights, Viggo and Mena.VioletteSageFrom my story, Dark Light tales, Dixie.
Ambrosia - June 27, 2006 02:00 AM (GMT)
Awww! I just had SO many trips down memory lane looking at these! I had completely forgotten about the Smothering banner. awww, that makes me so happy! I love all of these....I wish I could use the Violette background but me thinks my daddy wouldn't approve of turning on his laptop to find that. The other men at work might think he was either a perv or poof. weeeeeee!
Mena - June 27, 2006 10:13 AM (GMT)
Eheheh, poor Steve, I don't know how he could explain i, indeed. Like, 'my daughter's crazy Italian friend made a wallpaper showing my daughter's banner person, inspired by a story she wrote for the site they met in'.
Well, that's true. ;)
I have my Dixie one on my computer at home, but thanks God my sis, mom and I have different desktops so nobody complais about it.
Blondie - June 27, 2006 04:25 PM (GMT)
Girl, you are so freaking talented, it is not even funny. Wow. Amazing work.
But you also forgot the blend you made for me when I first started up LiveJournal. I'll have to dig around on my home computer and post it so everyone else can reveal in your glory.
Oh, I must admit, I was super surprised and excited when I saw a new banner for Sara/Mercury for White Lies. She isn't one of the main characters so I never expected to see a banner. I honestly just about peed myself when I clicked on it. A little squeal of glee escaped from my lips, which is not cool since I am at work. Oops.
Anyway, just wanted to jump on the bandwagon and sing your praise.

Oh, why are you blushing? *swats wrists* They are beautiful, and you know it. Hey, what better excuse to go crazy with PS/PSP if not for one of your stories? The best mode of inspiration ever, definitely.
The wallpapers are beautiful! I like how you captured a bit of the characters in the shots you chose of the actresses and everything. Superb! Hehe
Blondie - October 3, 2006 03:50 PM (GMT)
Girl, I just would be happy to have 1/4th of your banner/wallpaper talent. They are fantastic.
I especially loved the last one, the one where you made the blend of the girls in the photoframe. Just so perfect.
*sigh* Totally jealous.
Mena - October 20, 2006 07:52 PM (GMT)
Gee, i swear you chicks are way too kind to me!!
Well, I'm glad you absolved me from taking inspiration from my stories, because seriously, i cannot help it!
Speaking of, this is my very first attempt to create headers in my whole life (I was too in awe of Sammi's).
So, here they are, based on my main characters for AYT, posted in order of creation, it took me an hour to made the six of them, and this means they are ot very accurate.. Feedback and tips are veeeeery appreciated, I swear.
:meh:

Sammi - October 21, 2006 07:10 AM (GMT)
Hey! There is no room for praising me on this thread, okay?
Eeeee!!! Can I use Sam's as my banner now?? Aaackk, it makes me so happy! I love how each one is different and yet it conveys a bit about each character. Like, mine, how its blue... and she's cold. Even the picture looks all 'Hah, he actually thinks I give a flying fuck'. Speaking of pictures, how do you do it? You find the perfect pictures every freakin' time, man!! So jealous.
I say we put this Mena-making-headers business to practice.
Mena - October 21, 2006 10:31 AM (GMT)
Awww, I'm so flattered you like 'em, expecially considering that i got the inspiration to do them watching yours!
And,

 of course you can! Use it, add lines if you want, do everything! Just, resize it to the allowed size of banners and it's all good. Weeeeee!!
Thanks, really.
Two more, the lads. (First is for Dana, the second is for
me Sammi!). Taglines soon to appear in the story. I might be in the mood to make others when i introduce the rest of characters. :P

Sammi - October 21, 2006 09:30 PM (GMT)
*squirms* I was so hoping you would do those two!! Yay! lol
So, I can't seem to find it, but what are the guidelines for siggy sizes? I swear it was 450x150 or something like that...
Mena - October 30, 2006 10:55 AM (GMT)
I think it was 450x200, but I can't recall... you should find it in the Rules and Guidelines section.
I made another two wallpapers, but this time I had the decency to get my inspiration from a story that's not mine, the awesome 'Chosen' by Dana. (coughreaditcough).
Basic drawings by Luis Royo, lines by William Blake.

Another drawing by Royo (he makes awesome stuff, althout there's plenty of NC-17 themes, so don't google it if this hurts your sensitivity!), plus pictures.

Well I just got your pm and of course I ran here asap.
Feeling extremly curious to see what you would make with a story like mine in your head.
And oh my god!!!
They are exquisite. I love them so much. They are absolutly beautiful and capture so much of what is going on in my story *smiles* I knew you would pick up on the story behind the story
I love them both and I am going to put them on my compie for sure.
I feel very flattered that you made this and that is why I am going to post the next part of the chappie now :meh: (don't kill me after you read it)
Mena - October 30, 2006 07:53 PM (GMT)
Gosh, honey, you'e too cute!!
I'm so happy you iked them... you know I consider your story a terrific inspiration, but still, stories are very personal and I'm always afraid to step a bit too further down the line!
Speaking of... this one is based on Amber's When in Rome. I loved that story soo much, and this is my personal way to kiss it goodbye.
Took me forever to do it, but hey, I'm on holiday, right? ;)
Kit-Kat - October 30, 2006 11:40 PM (GMT)
Mena, I love your When in Rome creation, that is so cool. I wish I could do that. it was spo beautiful and it makes me wish when in rome could go on forever but we know it can't. great job.

Mena - October 31, 2006 12:57 PM (GMT)
