Hello everyone! Yes I know, what am I doing posting this when I’ve been slacking on my other two stories? Oh well, I can’t help it. I actually have three more stories I’m about to start working on soon, picking up on two of them, and this one being a new one. This is an author’s call, but instead of like Destination Anywhere where it was four others, I just need one other this time.

Dear Diary,

Today is August 4, 2006.

I know I haven’t written much this summer, but it’s been quit a trip. I came back from my second year off at college, to my family telling me they got this cabin up at some lake. I think my sister mentioned Park City, Utah, but I could’ve very well been mistaken. Anywho, this meant ditching my hot summer plans for some colder summer plans. Who the hell goes up north for the summer? I wanted to tan, go to the beach, and soak it up at the theme parks, but no, of course not. I had to go with my family. I had to go on a trip that we hadn’t taken in six years, now. Hooray for me. Can’t you note the sarcasm? Good, I was hoping you could. I remember writing a similar entry the day I got home from college, and now I’m writing again, at the end of it all, when I’m back in the summer heat. The heat that I claimed, at the beginning of this summer, that I would miss so dearly. It’s August now, and it’s hot as hell, but I’m wishing I was still in Utah. I wish I was still crammed inside that amazing 7 bedroom cabin with nothing to do, but soak in the Jacuzzi, or sit in front of the fire with a good book, or just sit in front of the fire with my laptop, writing away since there was no internet or even cable. Wait, better yet, I wish I was still in Utah with Jake, doing all the things we did. Funny how things turn out huh?

Plot: Have you guys seen the movie Time Share on what once was ABC Family...now it's what, Fox Family I believe? It's sort of like that, but different. I was talking to Lici last night *grins* and she said something about a timeshare and I was like *gasp*. Well, the plot is about two families, each from different parts of the US or maybe even country, I'll decide that with my co-author, and they have a time share on this cabin in Utah (I have pictures). Well, the actual owners and such mix up their vacation times, causing both families to get there within a few days from each other, but the thing is they all fit into the house perfectly fine. Except for one minor detail. The parents. They all went to college together and have some sort of untold history there that makes them not like each other so much. Ya know how it goes. The children have to put up with the parent's bickering, and while they're told not to get along, they form secret friendships and ultimately romance.

My Plan: That the story is told in two POVs. The eldest daughter in the Cole family, and the eldest son in the other family. They're both college students or what have you, and at first don't get along, to their parent's delight. For example, I'd write in Brooke's POV while my co-author writes in "Jake's" POV. Throughout the entire thing it would be that way. It reminded me sort of like RPG format, except not really. I can't explain it, but if you've ever RPed, then you might see where I'm coming from.

A small continuation of what you would write after the prologue (as far as a chapter one goes): (This obviously won't be in diary format, unless that's what you want, then I can re-do this)

"Jake!" my mother screeched up the stairs. Why? Why did she do this to me? I've finally come home from a hellish year away at university, and now I've been informed, that, in my absence, they've decided that it would be such a great idea to rent a cottage in Utah of all places and spend the summer there. Did they think to ask what I was planning on doing this summer? No, of course not. Actually, if they had, I wouldn't really be able to give them a proper reason why we shouldn't (it's not like I've thought far enough ahead to actually make plans, but what if I had?), but still. It's the same principle.

I plod down the stairs, trying to make it extremely obvious that I really don't want to be doing this, to be greeted with the sight of my mom and my dad, arm in arm, beaming as their little prodegy appears. I wish they wouldn't do this to me. I mean, sure, okay, so they're first generation immigrants from Martinique, but it's not like I didn't spend my entire childhood surrounded by preppy white kids. My mom nearly had a heart attack when I was accepted into Yale. Of course, I didn't go there (we couldn't afford it), but I somehow managed to get a full ride scholarship to go to George Washington University in DC. It's my third summer home from uni, and they're still as weepy and grin-y as they were when I went off for the first time. What is wrong with them? It's not like they never went to college or anything. My parents are crazy.

"All packed, love?" my mom asks, her accent very slight now, after so many years learning English in night school.

"Oui, mamman." I reply, trying to remind her that yes, I actually spoke French.

"Then let's go!" my dad said jovially, his startling white teeth breaking through his dark beard. Now, my dad is black, and my mom is white, but they both had French as their first language. They met in night school, when they came from Martinique in their teens. Becoming friends, they somehow managed to get in to the same college, and then ended up marrying, having me, their only nest egg. Which is all fine and dandy, until you realize that they expect me to carry on the traditions of Africa, France, and Martinique around my Anglo-European friends. Let's just say that elementary school was pretty painful.

We all crammed into my parents tiny car (they think that by driving this ugly little rust-bucket, we're saving the environment) and begin our journey. I sighed and pulled out my Ipod and the book I bought at the train station. This was looking to be a loooooooong ride.

Why this caught your interest? Well, I've written with you before (Destination: Anywhere), and we also RP on the same board, so I'm well aquainted with the format. Plus, I luffles you! :hug: Besides, if I have a co-author, I might just be motivated enough to actually stick with this one. ^_^

Who would you chose for the female portrait? Elisha Cuthbert (they did House of Wax together, so there'll be pictures that we don't have to doctor! Hellz yea!) Idk, it's your char.

Who would you chose for the male protrait? Robert Ri'chard? lol ... um, I dunno ... I can't really think of any half-black-looking actors ... :huh: If you know of any, let me know! ^_^

Name: My character's name is Henry (I think, haha). He's Brooke's best friend.

"Henry..pleaaaaaase?" Brooke begged on the other end of the phone, causing me to roll my eyes slightly and lie back against my bed to stare at the ceiling.

"You want me to go with you to Utah to a cabin with yours and some crazy other family because...?" I asked, wanting clarification. I clearly had better things to do, like...well...get a job at Jack in the Box and cruise and play my sweet, sweet Xbox of course.

"You'll love it there, I promise...and because you love me that much. If you don't come, I'll go crazy. The neighbors could be a family of axe murderers for all we know. And...and what if Bigfoot comes to eat me in the middle of the night? I would be done for and I would come back as a ghost and blame you and haunt you for the rest of your life." she reasoned with all degrees of seriousness, though I swore I heard a giggle at the end.

I laughed, scratching the back of my head.
"Bigfoot lives farther north, babe. And I don't believe in ghosts. I was actually planning on getting a jo-" I started, but she soon broke into my words again with additional fire to her argument.

"It's a really nice cabin..."

"Brooke, I know what you're trying to-"

"...with seven bedrooms and a Jacuzzi..."

"I'm not so sure about it, I have...a Jacuzzi?" My ears perked up.

"...and I heard that the pretty Utah girls go all out and tan by the lake in the summer...and they're friendly."

I swallowed and sat up.
"You're evil, you know that?"

I could hear her smirk on the other end.
"The horns are to keep the halo up, Henry dearest. I'll see you in the morning at my house, ok?

I chuckled, knowing I had lost and that I in fact was going to stay the summer in sunny...no, windy Utah. At least I would have Brooke. And the hot Utah girls. Women had a tendency to change one's plans.
"Yeah, yeah. Me at your house tomorrow with my suitcase...but you must feed me in return for the egregious favor I'm doing you."

She laughed. "You remember my family? The one that has a mountain of food prepared nearly all the time? We're having pancakes and bacon and eggs."

My mouth watered at the thought of food.
"I love you, say you'll marry me and we can have pancakes and eggs and bacon every day for breakfast and I will be the happiest man alive." I grinned.

An unamused 'You love me for my food' laugh came out of her mouth.
"Shut up...I have to go now and finish packing. Ten sharp or the food will be gone, you know how my siblings are. Bye."

I said my farewell and laid back on my bed, dropping the phone to the floor and closing my eyes. Mmm...pancakes. Oh yeah, Utah. I meant Utah.

OMG! I just scared the crap out of myself! :blink: I heard the tune to "My Heart Will Go On" really softly and I was like W-T-F. And then, I realized that I, erm, have The Titanic Suite playing on my Itunes. :meh:
