Title: The Da Vinci Code

Who else here is super excited to see this movie?
At the moment I'm only about half-way through the book, and loving every page of it, but I already can't wait to see the screen version of it.
I just saw the trailer too, which prompted me to post this ^_^ Hopefully this link will work:

Clickity Click

(and the newer, longer one)

La Click La

(That one ^ has the same music as the Two Towers trailer!! OMG!! So many LOTR connections!! *dances*)

At first I admit I was sort of skeptical about Tom Hanks being Robert Langdon (not that I doubted his ability to act, I was simply hoping for... okay, I'll admit it; Orlando Bloom *hides*), but after seeing the trailer I'm confident he's perfect for the role ^_^

Maybe I havn't reached it yet in the book but who is Sir Leigh Teabing and who else is sooooo excited that Sir Ian McKellan is playing him!?!? Not that even know who the character is, but it's just so exciting Gandolf is in the movie!!

Have not read the book, but I can't wait to see the movie!!!

Soooo excited for the movie! I read the book in the summer of 2003 and loved it! Then made the mistake of giving my copy to my friend. I recently re-purchased it and re-read it and then lent it out to friends. Not a Pulitzer prize worthy book, but definately a page turner. I am counting the days till the movie is released. I don't really want to go see any other movies in the theatre until this one. =)

Yeah, at first I was doubtful of Tom Hanks (and I love Tom Hanks) - but he just didn't seem Indiana Jones-ish enough for me. But the trailers with him look good.

That's it, I'm going out to get myself a copy.
Here in Holland the book also was a major hit, but I was so busy I never read it.
I have seen the trailer and it is mighty fine.
Tom Hanks can play anything the guy is an acting comet.

Ah you will find out who sir Leigh Teabing is...no doubt about it.
*grins*
Just read the book.

The trailer looks promising enough (and I love the riot it is causing). The book is a page turner but uhm I can't say that it is brilliantly written and towards the end it falls flat on its bottom (so to speak). But it is a nice read....hope you enjoy!

I finished it and yeah... the end is pretty ew. I liked Angels and Demons better ^_^
Still uber excited for this movie though! Buahahahha!

I need to do a little premise: I read the book when it first came out and I was a bit disappointed with it. But despite this, I am sure I'll go and watch the movie. It is an event that I don't ntend to lose, in any case it won't turn me down more than the book itself!

 :meh:

I just saw the movie on Sunday and I must admit, I am dumbstruck, if that is the right word for it.
I'm like.. blink*blink
I guess I should read the book, the movie I found was going a bit too fast for my likings. I was processing just one thing and wham I got hit with another thing.
For sure, the story is very intrigueing and has let me to my own search of the truth in a way. Not that I am actually on a journey around the world to see all the facts myself, but I am very interested in finding out more about the Priory of Sion, the Holy Grail and of course the whole idea of Jesus having a wife and even children. I don't know, I'm just fascinated by it. What if that IS true?
Excellent storyline. Movie was a bit too fast for my pace, unless one maybe has read the book and it'll be easily followed then.
I will however read the book in months to come, I am sure of it!

I loved it! I have to admit I never read the book (yeah, shame on me!...), so I found it a little confusing at first, but it was great nontheless. Audrey tatou is so sweet, I love her. And Paul Bettany just rocked my socks as Silas.

All I have to say is:

What the hell?! *stomps around shouting and grumbling* AGGHHH!!!!!

My advice- If you haven't read the book, feel free to see the movie- you'll probably think it's great (Celly liked it).

However, to those who have actually read the book- be wary.

You know how movies will have lines in the dialogue that are only spoken to be proven wrong (ex: "It's deserted!" or "I'm invincible!" haha), and all the other various tricks that make it so frequent movie-goers pretty much always know what's going to happen a half hour ahead of time?

Let's just say that, while the book does not play by these rules- the movie does. Alas *grumbles* It's still interesting, but those twists, etc that so impressed me in the book were, for the most part, absent.

Then again, I'm probably over-reacting because I just got back from the movie and still in my "AHH!! Stupid changing-the-movie-to-make-it-shorter-and-easier-to-understand-ness!! RAHH!!" mode. It's really not that bad.

Sir Ian was fantabulous of course, and Tatou was more than decent in the role given her. And Hanks, we'll he's Tom Hanks and we love him, even if we don't love all his movies *laughs* ("we" being... me haha). Ah, and Bettany- that man will always have a piece of my heart (the character Silas *shakes head* Oiy- what a suck life...)

I'm done now :D

For now all I have time for is this: I AGREE WITH YOU JEWELZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The book had a good beginning, the endin didn't do it justice and the movie just plain sucked although the actors did what they could and they kept me from walking out.

But yes! I will go into more detail in my outrage later!! Or just move to this topic in the debate club!!
