Summary: Dom and Katie Monaghan’s marriage is on the rocks right now because of a stupid fight. Can their two children find a way to bring their parents back together before it is too late?

A green minivan pulled in the driveway of a house in central Los Angeles, California. The van stopped and two kids immediately opened the van doors with their bags in their hands jumped out and ran over to the front door.

The woman driving glanced up and sighed as she slowly turned off the engine as she grabbed her purse and slowly made her way out of the van.

“Come on Mom!” the little boy yelled with a smile and a wave as he grabbed his sister’s hand and made his way up to the front door.

Katie Monaghan smiled and nodded as she closed the van door loudly making sure that her husband knew that they were there…on time.

“I’m coming love, just be patient. Go ahead and knock and see if your dad’s home." she encouraged and the little boy, seven year old Dominic William Monaghan nodded as he knocked as best as he could on the door.

Katie then smiled as she picked up four year old Kalyssa Noelle Monaghan in her arms and kissed her daughter’s cheek as the front door opened and there stood him. Her husband.

Dominic Monaghan smiled as he opened his arms out for his son and daughter to come into. Little Dom smiled huge and ran into his father’s arms.

“I’ve missed you Daddy.” Little Dom said with a smile.

Dom smiled at his son and kissed his forehead gently like any gentle father would.

“I’ve missed you too Dom, hi Kalyssa honey.” Dom said with a smile as he reached his other arm out for his daughter to hug.

Kalyssa ran up her father and gave hum a hug as Katie watched her children with a small smile on her face. Dom was so good with the kids…oh stop that Katie! she thought to herself as she glanced down and saw Dom staring up at her.

“Hi Katie.” Dom said with a small grin on his face.

“Hi Dom, well thanks again for watching the kids. I have a lot of work to catch up on.” Katie replied making the excuse so she could leave for the hospital right now.

“It’s no problem, they are my children too. I don’t mind being with them, but why are you leaving so quickly? Come on in.” Dom asked inviting her in as he carefully glanced at his wife.

She was white and pale and looked like she hadn’t slept for days. And that worried him, even though they were separated.

“I really need to go Dom. Thanks anyways, but I do need to get down there.” Katie replied with a sigh.

Dom nodded his head reluctantly as Katie gave Little Dom and Kalyssa hugs and kisses.

“I’ll see you both soon okay? Be good for Daddy okay?” she asked as the children both nodded and said goodbye to their mother.

“I’ll see you later Dom, if you need anything, call the hospital.” Katie said.

“I know Katie, but I’m sure everything will be okay.” Dom reassured her and she nodded with a sigh.

“Okay…well bye." she said softly as she slowly made her way back to the van.

“Go ahead inside kids, I have a surprise for you both.” Dom ushered Little Dom and Kalyssa inside the house as he stood at the front door to see if Katie made it to the van or not. He glanced outside and saw Katie gasp for air and then fall to the ground.

Not even thinking, Dom ran outside and over to his wife.

“Katie? Katie? Oh my God Katie! Please get up, can you hear me love?” Dom pleaded as he padded her cheeks softly so see if she would respond. Katie coughed as her head turned and she slowly opened her eyes which were bloodshot through her glasses. Dom cursed to himself as he stroked her cheek with his free hand.

“Katie?” he asked softly.

“Dom…I don’t feel so good.” she muttered before turning her head closing her eyes again.

“Shit.” he muttered as he slowly bent down and picked her up. She felt so light in his arms, just like a feather and that scared him to death.

He ran inside and upstairs to their old room. He set her down on the bed and placed a cold washcloth over her forehead.

“Dom! Lyss!” Dom yelled for his children and they both soon made their way into their parent’s room. They both froze at the sight of their mom lying on the bed not moving.

“Dom son, could you go downstairs and get me my address book from the office please? And Kalyssa honey, could you go into the bathroom underneath the sink and get me the black bag in there?” Dom asked.

Little Dom nodded as he took Kalyssa’s hand and led her to the bathroom and then he ran downstairs. Kalyssa came in with the black medical bag Katie left at home just in case and handed it to her nervous father who smiled in gratitude. Little Dom ran into the room and handed his dad the blue address book. Dom thanked both of them and told them that Mommy would be okay and not to worry.

Dom called UCLA Medical Center to tell that Katie wouldn’t be in for work and then called Billy Boyd and Elijah Wood to let them know what was going on. Billy promised to stop by the next day and Elijah said if they needed anything, to let him know. He knew Katie had been working harder than usual lately, but he wasn’t sure why. She was obviously wearing her body down and it got too much for her to handle now.

He cursed softly as he laid next to her on her bed and rubbed her arms and cheeks with his warm soft hands that could maybe cause her to react.

A few hours later, Katie slowly opened her eyes and found her warm and caring husband looking at her with worried eyes and his face was written with concern.

“Dom? Where am I?” she asked while groaning.

Dom shushed her and held her in his arms as he rocked her back and forth in his arms. She immediately hugged him back as they just held one another. He sighed into her long blonde hair and tightened his grip on her.

“Katie, what happened?” he asked softly.

“I don’t know…maybe I was really tired. I’ve been working a lot to get money and to support Kalyssa and Little Dom. I don’t know Dom.” she replied with a sigh.

“Katie, wearing your body down is not the best thing for you or your body. It can only hold so much for so long. Take it easy for awhile until you get better.” Dom advised her with a small smile.

She smiled in thanks and kissed his cheek as they both got up and stretched. They both went downstairs to see and play with their children.

After dinner, Little Dom was asking his father how to play the stereo while Katie and Kalyssa went outside so Kalyssa could pick some flowers and Katie needed the fresh air.

She felt the wind blow through her long hair and smiled as it flew off her shoulders and across her back. Kalyssa handed her mom a flower and then they both went inside for the evening.

Little Dom and Kalyssa played on the kitchen floor while their parents were cleaning the table and washing the dishes.

“Did you get the flower?” Little Dom asked and his sister nodded.

“Good job Lyss. I got the CD in there so let’s go get into our pj’s and then the plan will work.” Little Dom said as they both went upstairs and got changed.

As Katie and Dom were finishing cleaning, Little Dom went up to his mother and tugged on her pants.

“Mommy I’m tired.” Little Dom whined as he saw Kalyssa tug at her dad’s jeans and then being picked up by their father.

Katie glanced down at her son and smiled softly as she slowly bent down and picked him up giving Dom a look saying she was alright.

“I bet you are little man, you and Lyss have had a long day. Thank you both for taking care of Mommy today and helping Daddy. We both love you very much and do appreciate it.” Katie said with a smile as she tickled Little Dom who laughed and squirmed in his mother’s arms.

Dom did the same to Kalyssa who burst out laughing and giggled as she struggled to get out of her father’s grip. But he had a good hold on her.

“Come on then you two, better go to bed.” Dom said as he escorted them all out of the kitchen and upstairs to their bedrooms. Kalyssa was laid down in her bed and she snuggled into the covers and all her stuffed animals.

Dom, Katie and Little Dom kissed Kalyssa goodnight as they then left Kalyssa’s Care Bear nightlight on and made their way to Little Dom’s room. Katie carefully laid him down as he got comfortable in his bed covers.

“Goodnight Dom, we love you.” Dom and Katie smiled before kissing both of their son’s cheeks.

Little Dom yawned back and mumbled a “night mom and dad” before the lights turned off and his parents slowly closed the door behind them.

Katie grabbed a hold of Dom’s arms and he glanced at her confused.

“Can we talk?” she asked.

Dom nodded his head in response.

“Yeah we need to, come on.” he replied as they both headed down the stairs. Soon Little Dom’s door opened and both Little Dom and Kalyssa made their way downstairs and then tiptoed quietly to the family room where it was empty. Kalyssa placed the flower on the couch while Little Dom sneakes to the stereo, placed the cd in, turned it on and then grabbed Kalyssa as their parents both came in and sat down on the couch.

The beginning strands of “On Bended Knee” by Boyz II Men came on and both familiar with the song, Dom and Katie glanced at one another.

“Did you do something?” they both asked at the same time and then they both laughed.

“Well, would you like to dance anyways?” Dom asked.

Katie looked at him and nodded her head slowly as they both stood up and made their way to the middle of the living room. They wrapped their arms around one another and glanced into each other’s eyes as they song filled up the entire room as the lyrics found a way to touch each of them.

As the last few measures and notes of the song filled up the room, Dom and Katie glanced at one another one last time before Dom leaned down and kissed her on the lips softly. She kissed him back as they tightened their hold on one another.

Dom ran his hand through her hair while the one running up and down her back as Katie played with the hairs at Dom’s lower neck and the other ran through his long dirty blonde hair.

They soon pulled away slowly as they both smiled at one another.

“Please give me another chance Katie, I’m so sorry.” Dom whispered gently as he stroked her cheek with his hand.

She only shook her head no in response.

“No Dom, I’m the one who should be sorry. I love you so much Dom Monaghan.” she replied softly.

“And I love you, Katie Monaghan. I guess we both should be sorry. But please move back in, it was so hard never seeing you or the kids.” Dom pleaded with her.

She only leaned up and kissed his lips again softly. He kissed her back and then they rested their foreheads together and sighed in content.

“I wouldn’t dream of leaving you again.” she replied with a smile.

He smiled back and then giggled in response.

She looked at him weird.

“What’s so funny?” she asked curiously.

Dom pointed across the living room and then Katie turned around and smiled when their children were sleeping peacefully in the corner of the room by the stereo system and the television.

“I think they had something to do with this.” Katie said and Dom hugged her close to him as he held her safe in his arms.

“I think you may be right my dear, come on let’s get these two to bed.” Dom said as they both slowly picked up a child and made their way upstairs repeating the same routine as before.

Dom and Katie closed the door to their son’s door for the last time that evening and then they smiled at one another as they made their back downstairs to turn all the lights off and go to bed themselves.

Dom scooped Katie in his arms with a grin as he carefully climbed the stairs, but pretending to fall on the last one making her exclaim in terror.

He shushed her as he made his way to their bedroom and then closed the door behind them with his foot. He then laid Katie down on the bed and kissed her on the lips full of passion and devotion. She kissed him back as they continued to show their feelings and love towards one another.

“You know Dom, I was thinking…maybe it’s time to have another little matchmaker in the family don’t you think Dommie love?” Katie asked as she sucked and bit on his neck.

Dom growled in response with an evil grin on his face as they began to move themselves underneath the covers while removing their clothes.

“That my love is the best idea you’ve had all evening.”

Hmm. I wonder what happened that she moved the kids out for? How sad.

I really liked the ending. It was cute, and romantic, and totally a sex scene without being raunchy. Perfect.
