Title: Had I the Heaven's Ebroidered Cloths
Description: by W.B. Yeats

Felonaz - March 6, 2006 02:19 AM (GMT)
Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dum and the dark cloths
of night and light and the half light,
I would spread my cloths under your feet.

But I, being poor, have only my dreams,
I have spread my dreams under your feet.

Tread softly, for you tread on my dreams.

WAAAHHHHH!!!! *taggles* I absolutely love that poem!! The last few lines of it are my screen saver *laughs*

(haha, sorry to be so dramatic about it)

Did you know it's quoted in the movie Equilibrium? I'm not gonna lie- that's where I first heard it. But man; talk about an intensely perfect love poem, no?

Any other Yeats poems you recomend?

Yeah, I know. I was watching it the other day. It's kinda paraphrased, but you get the gist. Love that movie (Christian Bale is so hott!) :lol: .

"Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:

But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;

Tread softly because you tread on my dreams."
