I wrote this the day my grandfather passed away. It will be four years this July 14th. It is also my first poem.

Life is too short,
To mess around.
There's too much to do,
In so little time.
So cherish your time,
With your loved ones.
For you don't know when you'll see them last.

My grandfather was one of a kind,
He was special in every way.
The Lord thought it was his time,
So He took him away.
Now all I have are memories,
Of his face, jokes, and generosity.

He loved everyone no matter what,
And everyone loved him too.
He was special in every way.

I'm one of his angles,
Sent to take care of him.
And now that he's gone,
He takes care of me.

So Abuelo, now I can say,
You're my angel,
Forever to stay.

This is a gorgeous poem, i'm sorry about your grandfather honey. My grandmother died a couple years ago too. She was 105.

Hey Pat. Thanks. I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. My grandfather was 80 something? I can't remember anymore. He died of Hepitis C. He had a blood transfusion during a surgery forever ago and the doctors knew something was wrong with the blood, yet they still decided to give it to him anyway. He was my father figure for ten years, so it was really hard when I got my drivier's card, job, graduation, prom, etc. I guess it does get easier though. I still miss him...think about him all the time, but I know he's taking care of me. I'm glad you liked it.

I know I said this already, but I love this poem, it's so meaningful for those who have lost a loved one (which is almost everyone I think). Thanks for sharing this with us, my friend. :hug:

No problem babe. I've got three more poems. I just have to get to them now. I'll post them when I get back. Oh, I wanted to ask you a question. I have some stories that I started working on when I was at EWFN. I'm thinking about redoing the cast and stuff, but I was wondering if you maybe wanted to work on one or so with me....*smiles* I might end up posting an author call too...hehehehe Idk yet.
