Hello,
Just thought I'd post my first ever message on this site!!! And I want to know if anyone has seen 'Green Street' because I kind of missed it at the cinema  Is it any good?

Hey Mel245,
This is not the right section for this question...belongs more to the movie department. So I am going to move it to there. If you want to make an introduction you can do it here, the newbie forum.
Big welcome on the board and unfortunatly no I haven't seen green street. I want to though.

I've seen it about 5 times! I love it, though I really think Elijah is too innocent for the role.
I like the song they use
I'm forever blowing bubbles
Pretty bubbles in the air
They fly so high
Nearly reach the sky
Then like my dreams
They fade and die
Fortune's always hiding
I've looked everywhere
I'm forever blowing bubbles
Pretty bubbles in the air
Why I like it so much? Just watch the film! I'm not gonna post any spoilers :)

Just saw it, and I LOVE IT!!!
I love Petey, and Bovvy really reminds me of Sean Bean (although I don't think Sean can quite bug his eyes out as easily... ).
I think that Elijah's innocent look was perfect for the role. You know, he goes in completely 'untainted' in a manner of speaking, and then at the end? Well... you all know. I was like "YEAAHH Matt!!! Wooh!"
The characters were so well developed. :) You know those stories where you know its bad, but you're still rooting for the wrong thing. I got all giggly from a gang-ish movie. Okay, a firm movie. There. And, I wish I could call it football, but my friends here would probably ... idk. Now I want to watch the World Cup even more. *sigh* Damn timezones.
I shall watch it again tomorrow!!! :superman: Dun-dun-duh-dahhhh!
:heartbeat:

Oh come on, Sean a total hottie and Bovver - well he's not! *pouts and hugs Sean close: "you don't look at all like that meany!"
Anyway, it is one hell of anawesome movie, I'd say Lij's best - well of all his normal movies, Lord of the rings is more like a life-style then a movie *laughs* and it's hard to compare - but I love his job in Green Street; in germany very smartly entitled "Hooligans".
The best thing about it is that it doesn't give one perspective. Like uh yeah that's the evil Hooligans and now they have to be cleansed from their evil ways. It's really really good.
love,
Laila
P.S: I'll watch it with my brother today, and he hasn't seen it yet and he never ever watches anything in english - now that shall prove to quite interesting to see how bad they fuck up the dubbing... but seriously: Germany Cockney? Well we'll see.

Okay, okay, yeah. But there is a bit of a resemblance there! Sean is a cutie, and when I first saw Bovver I did the whole head-turn-waah?-thing. Except Bovver has weird eye movements. When he's surprised or scared his eyes bug out, like when he pretended to be a homeless guy:

And he always looks angry... Issues!
I loved how the characters, they really were characters. They were developed and had those innner battles that make us all human.

I just saw this movie the other night and I loved it. I found it funny, they use the f-qord like it is water. I love the song. I love Pete and Matt their characters are jsut so amazing and great story line. I love football and this was my great sports movie in that sense. But I love the movie and did anyone else feel their jaw drop when Pete came out in a towel? I did.

This would have been my face at that part:
- :o - :cloud#9: - :yum: - :woot: - comeon -
And it is the simple reason why he's my lover now. (After Gerry of course. I shall never give him up) But good God! That is one fine piece. :tsk:
.. I'm surprised that wasn't mentioned in my first post. ^_^

I haven't seen it -_- but I really want to, however, I don't think it was released in Canada, at least nowhere near me. someday I'll see it though. Glad you all thought it was good.
