Title: MOM November: Blondie

Elijahfan14 - November 5, 2005 11:14 PM (GMT)
Well, it's that time again! Time to announce our next Member of The Month, Blondie! Congratulations girl! ^_^

Who is Blondie:

Blondie is… Pick any and all adjectives: outrageous, silly, crazy, blonde, a drama queen, boisterous, weird as hell.

Okay, so all of the above words have been used to describe me at one point in time by my friends. No lie. I’m not sure if that is something to be proud about or not.

Anyway, I am a twenty-something (a true lady never reveals her age) year old who wasn’t satisfied with my first college experience. For some reason, two degrees is just not enough for me and I decided to go back to school for yet another degree – this time nursing. School, unfortunately is pretty much my life. I spend a lot of time agonizing over grades and being the perfectionist I am not being happy unless I am acing all of my classes. *rolls eyes* When I’m not complaining about school, I like to spend my time with my man, my friends, my family, snuggling with my kitty, consuming some of Milwaukee’s finest beverages (beer), busting out my karaoke skills, watching movies, etc, etc, etc.

I’m a very loud individual who likes to talk a lot and will ramble and ramble until my heart is content (much to the dismay of others). I love to laugh and I love to make others laugh.

I could go on forever, but really…

How did you come up with your member name:

It was really a no brainer. Blondie is actually one of the many nicknames I have. My friends refer to me as Blondie and I guess it has just become second nature to refer to myself as Blondie. Seemed like a good reason to pick it for my member name.

How did you become an Elijah Wood fan:

Ah, good question. I have a little secret to admit, I haven’t always been a huge Elijah fan. *hangs head in shame* I know, I know. Elijah’s Flipper years never really did anything for me. I think the first time I really noticed him was in The Faculty. I thought, “Dang, who is that little guy with the amazing blue eyes”. My interest was peaked, but I wasn’t totally lusting after him, he was still pretty young, not even 18 and at that point in my life, unlike now, I was not okay with perving after boys under the age of 18 (What? Don’t look at me like that? I blame Rupert Grint. Damn him and his red hair and his rosy lips).

So when did the full lusting for Elijah occur? Well, it is all about LOTR baby! I must admit, being a LOTR fan (read the books long before the movies came out) I was a bit skeptical when I heard Elijah was going to be playing Frodo. I was like, “That kid Casey from the Faculty, the one that says ‘Tweak. Tweak’”. But, as soon as I saw Elijah up on the big screen in full Frodo garb, I was smitten. Not to mention the premiere appearances sold me on his hotness and I decided that not only did he make an excellent Frodo and he is cute to boot. Add all that up and it only seemed natural that I must worship him and the ground he walks on.

How did you hear of EWAC:

A certain someone used her superior mind power over me *cough*Amber*cough* and convinced me I should check it out. So I did. And the rest is history.

If Elijah hit you in a car accident would you call the police and press charges:

Press charges? Nah. Call the police? Depends on how bad the damage was. If it was a minor fender bender, you know a couple of scratches and maybe a little dent, I wouldn’t call the cops. But not because it was Elijah. I would do that in any situation. Now say the car was pretty smashed up, most definitely I would call the cops, that way I could have an accident report and wouldn’t be hassled by my insurance company. I would like to think that I would handle it the same way I would handle the situation if it was just any Joe Blow. Of course, if it was Elijah, I would checking his arse every opportunity I could and be doing everything in my power not to drool. Oh, and being the fan girl that I am, I would probably ask for a picture…by my smashed up car. That way I would have photographic evidence to back up my outrageous story that I would be telling to anyone that would listen. :)

What is your:
Nickname: Blondie, Blondermeister, SJ, Mabel, Minerva, Asshat (my brothers fondly refer to me as this – gotta love the siblings)
Birthday: March 18th
Location: Well, I currently live in Milwaukee, WI. But I was born and the first half of my life in Pocatello, Idaho.
Sign: Pisces

Favorites:
Color: I have two – green and blue
Number: Is it weird that I don’t really have a favorite number?
Book: Oh gosh, I don’t have an absolute favorite per say. I do have a lot of books that I adore for one reason or another. Such as: LOTR and The Hobbit by Tolkien (obviously), A Tale of Two Cities by Dickens, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, lots of different works by Shakespeare, The Harry Potter series by JK Rowling, The Stand and The Green Mile by Stephen King. Oh the list could go on and on.
Food: Mmm…pasta! Especially four cheese ravioli!
Dessert: Well, I like ice cream. Prefer custard. I also like Nutter Butters with a big glass of milk. Oh great, now I have a craving for them. Thanks.
Drink (alcohol or non): Alcoholic – well, I’m a simple girl. I love me some beer and lots of it. But I also enjoy a good martini. Oh and strawberry margaritas. Ooooh, and Electric Lemonades. As for NA drinks – I can’t pass up a bottle of Mountain Dew or Coke.
Non-Elijah Movie: Ah, this is just like the book question. There are so many movies I love. Snatch, Dogma, Moulin Rouge, Reservoir Dogs, The Harry Potter movies (OMG so excited to see GOF!), LOTR (again, obviously), Swordfish, Pulp Fiction, The Star Wars movies (yes, all 6 of them), Finding Nemo, and tons more
TV Show: I don’t watch a lot of TV. But I do make time for CSI: Las Vegas and CSI: Miami and CSI: New York. Sensing a pattern? I’ve only caught it a few times but I really kind of dig Criminal Minds. Oh and Simpson reruns are always fun.
Band: Jimmy Eat World, The Cure, Modest Mouse, Smashing Pumpkins, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Something Corporate, Blondie, Death Cab for Cutie, The Darkness, Frou Frou, Guster, Damien Rice, The Gathering (thanks Mena!) and tons more
Song: Well I’ve always loved Love Song by The Cure and For Me This is Heaven by Jimmy Eat World. Currently I’m really digging Lebanese Blonde by Thievery Corporation and Precious by Duran Duran. Oh and I am almost ashamed to admit it (I’m sorry Michael Hutchence) but I do really like INXS’s new song Pretty Vegas.
Season: Fall! I love the colors, I love the crisp cool air.
Actor: Well, I must admit, I’m a bit smitten with Viggo Mortensen. He is just always so intense in all of his roles. It is so amazing. I also enjoy Edward Norton, and Joaquin Phoenix.
Actress: Well, I like Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Christina Ricci. I don’t really think I have a favorite. Just some notable women.
Animal: As far as pets go, I love both kitties and puppies. I currently have a cat, but my family has always had dogs. I can see the good in both.
Car: My dream car would be like a 1962 Cherry Red Corvette with white side walls. Otherwise, I am enamored with Mini Coopers.
Perfume: I like to wear different perfumes on different days, to match my moods and what not. So I have quite an extensive collection of perfume. Some of my favorites are Vera Wang, Alfred Sung Shi, Ralph Lauren Romance, Very Irresistible by Givenchy, Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden, and Miracle by Lancôme.

If you could meet anyone that has ever existed dead or alive who would it be? (Besides Elijah):

It would be a tie between Albert Einstein and Martin Luther King Jr. Both brilliant in their own ways.

If you could visit any planet what would it be:

Hm.. interesting question. Well, I would probably say Venus. Why? Well, because Venus is the goddess of love and beauty, which is just so appealing. Also, besides the Sun and the Moon, Venus is the next brightest planet. Bright is good. Also, little known fact (well at least to me) with a few exceptions all of the features on Venus are named for female figures. Venus is all about girl power in my mind.

If you could go to a movie premiere in any city around the world where would you choose:

London! I just love everything about London, so I think it would be so much fun to see a movie premiere there.

If you could go back into any time period and change one thing what would it be:

Oh gosh. Well, if I could, I would go back in time and ensure that the Holocaust never ever happened. Just thinking about it and the horrible things that were done to people makes me so sad. The human race can be so cruel it is sometimes beyond the scope of my imagination.

What has been your favorite vacation:

My trip to Jamaica! Nothing better than sitting on the white sandy beaches of Negril, soaking up the sun rays and sipping daiquiris with not a worry in the world. That trip was a little slice of heaven for me.

What’s your most embarrassing moment:

Honestly, I do so many embarrassing things, it is nearly impossible to pin down just one. But here is just a quick glimpse at the many embarrassing things I do. So, recently for my friends wedding I was a bridesmaid. Here I was all dressed up, looking beautiful, poised and graceful. So what do I do, my heel gets stuck in the grass and I trip. Dignity and grace out the window. What is worse is I started to giggle like crazy. Good thing it was the end of the ceremony and the recession.

What’s the craziest prank you’ve ever played:

I’m not much of a prankster. Kind of weak of me.

If you were stranded on an island and could only take 3 things with you what would it be?

1. My man
2. My journal – need to write and record things so I don’t go crazy
3. My kitty

What would you do if you won the lottery:

First I would jump up and down in a spastic nature, then run around screaming and finally collapse in a pile on the ground from shock. Once that was complete, I would probably pay off the mortgage on my house, give my parents the money they need to build their dream house, my man his big truck that he wants (he currently drives a little Honda Civic for economical reasons and it kills him), invest some money in my retirement fund, buy a bunch of stuff for my friends and family, and go on an incredible vacation to Bora Bora with my man.

Do you have anyone who inspires you:

I’m inspired by a lot of different people. My parents marriage inspires me and my relationship with my man. They have been married for 30 years and have had their fair shares of ups and downs and despite it all remain happily married and very much in love. My mom – for going back to school and getting her EMT licensure. My friends and my man for brining out the best in me and reminding me to never settle for anything just because it is the “safer” route.

Tell us a joke:

Okay…this one goes out to all the Hobbit lovers out there. Imagine Pippin and Merry…maybe?!

Two hobbits walk into a bar where one of them picks up a barfly. They taker her to a local motel; the first hobbit goes into the motel room while the other waits outside. Once the door closes, the hobbit on the outside hears strange noises through the door, "I can't do it, I can't do it, I CAN'T DO IT!"

In the morning, the second hobbit asks the first, "How did it go?" The first one answers. "It was embarrassing. I simply couldn’t do it."

The second hobbit shook his head. "Manhood problems, eh?"

"No. I couldn’t get on the bed!"

Are there any fellow EWAC members you’d like to give a shout out to:
