I saw this movie a few days ago and thought it was a pretty good movie. The music was good (even if Johnny Depp's character, Victor, NEVER sang *sighs*), because, I mean, it's Danny Elfman, he's awesome. And I loved the awkwardness of Victor, along with the witty things that Burton stuck in throughout the movie. Though sometimes the dead puns were too much, I enjoyed the movie.
I'm also kind of curious...for those of you who have seen this movie and The Nightmare Before Christmas, how did it compare? I haven't seen Nightmare Before Christmas but have heard the soundtrack and I love it...I hope to watch it soon so I can see why everybody loves it so much. ^_^
Comparing it to TNBC? Hmm..
I dunno, I thought I'd do that when I saw Corpse Bride, too, but when it finished I was like 'no! I can't compare them!'
I guess even though the animation style is the same they're 2 very different movies...
I mean, there's the whole Tim Burton style too, but I dunno.. This one's a more romantic tragic-comedy, and Nightmare is more of a sweet buddy-like one...
I'm not sure what I'm saying, it makes a bit of sense in my head...
However, I love both the movies and couldn't choose one as better, because of what I just said: they're different!
I guess Corpse Bride has more witty adult sarcastic society-mocking humour... Dunno, ehhehe.
I enjoyed both of them and again, I can't compare!! =P
You should definitely watch The Nightmare Before Christmas, it's really good, especially if you liked the soundtrack!!
And yes, Danny Elfman rocks!!
I truly loved this movie (am in reality a true Tim Burton fan, although I did not see The night before Christmas)... wonderful animation and the story itself, sad but honestly charming...
a movie that one should not lose.
