I don't have a particular passion for purchasing soundtracks but I think that most of the time, how a movie affects your feelings during viewing depends on the soundtrack.

I've only got 4 soundtracks and they're the 3 LotR soundtracks, and the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' one. :blush: Comparing the two 'sets', I'd say that the LotR (especially FotR) is wayyyy better than the PotC soundtrack. It was more an impulse purchase.

Anyone has any good soundtracks to recommend? Especially for musicals?

I've got to admit that I only have the three LOTR-soundtracks. Heh. :blush:

not good for musical though

and LOTR soundtrack of course!

I wanted to buy PotC's but I never did :P
And I also have the Chicago soundtrack. But not the movie's, the play's
Though I guess it's pretty much the same..
Though I saw the play and I liked it much better than the movie..

Usually if I like the music in a movie, I'll get the soundtrack...or if I just REALLY liked the movie...or if I see a soundtrack that is good but I haven't seen the movie, I'll buy the soundtrack and then watch the movie...

I heard one of the Harry Potter soundtracks (can't remember which one) but it's not as good as I thought. I love the beginning theme though, gorgeous!

Well, what I have is FotR & TTT soundtracks, then PotC one, first HP and Moulin Rouge. I should say that LOTR ones, of course, are the best. I'm also fond of PotC, it's awesome. Heard few tracks from the Matrix Reloaded, liked two of them: Zion and Session.

I feel like listening instrumental music lately, so soundtracks are a good stuff to listen to ^_^ Being a musician myself, I admire the profesionalism of the conductor and orchestras on these CD's. It's brilliant! :yay:

best musical soundtrack for me would be Buffy the Vampire Slayer- Once More With Feeling.

My other fav soundtracks are Empire Records(the best soundtrack ever made), Can't Hardly Wait, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Radio Sunnydale, Dawson's Creek vol 1, Gilmore Girls: Our Little Corner of the World, Roswell, Freaky Friday, Any Amercian Pie Soundtracks and Cruel Intentions. they would be some i recommend.

Hmm... I like the josie and the Pussycats soundtrack... though it's a little to... happy... for me most of the time. I possitively adore my Smallville soundtrack... Almost all my favorite songs come from it...

the only movie soundtracks I have are from Titanic (reallllly old) and the American wedding soundtrack

Star Wars(what can I say? John Williams is a genius when it comes to composing. Arguably the best composer ever. The classic soundtracks are great, and Episode 1 is good too, especially Duel of the Fates...that song rocks.:shine:)
anything else by John Williams(like Indiana Jones or Home Alone)

then other faves are Chicago, Moulin Rouge, Disney(omg, Tarzan...I love Phil Collins!), Phantom of the Opera, Footloose (Let's hear it for the boy! :lol: ), Walk to Remember, My Fair Lady, Oliver!, Sound of Music...those are all I can think of right now... ^_^

Ned Kelly, TTT and ROTK, and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon film soundtracks and the Lion King Broadway Soundtrack.

I love soundtracks, I always get lost in some daydream when I listen to, erm... contemporary? classical scores, like film scores. Great at creating pictures but I guess that’s their purpose.
