Orlando's musical awakening
Last updated 03 August 2005
Orlando Bloom's caused a stir in Toyko.
He's there promoting his new romantic comedy 'Elizabethtown.'.
Loads of fans waited for him at the airport and many were reduced to tears at the mere sight of him.
His on-off girlfriend Kate Bosworth sat at the back of the press conference, dispelling rumours he's got something going on with Sienna Miller.
Orlando plays an industrial designer who finds love with a flight attendant, played by Kirsten Dunst, on the way back from his Dad's funeral to Elizabethtown.
Tom Cruise produced the film and it's written and directed by Cameron Crowe. Orlando says he learnt a lot from Cameron including some new music tastes and said he loved playing a different type of role:
"It was great to do a film without a sword, or a horse, or a suit of armour."
"Cameron gave me a lot of music to listen to while we were on the set. One of the songs that really resonated was a 1975 live version of 'Mr Tamborine Man' by Bob Dylan."
"It's one of my new favourite tracks."
Orlando says it was a great experience working with the film's producer, Tom Cruise:
"He came to visit the set many times."
"He was a great example to me as a young actor - I think he's a fantastic actor."
"He was very encouraging with his advice for me, in terms of developing my character and working on this project."
