Random: I know I had mentioned posting a cast call but I had my 7 main characters just pop into my head and I really didn’t need to post one after that. This story idea dawned on me one day when I was sitting with my mom at the table watching ‘West Wing’ and eating re-heated spaghetti, but my characters took several hours of deliberating while stuck in Aiken, SC in a room at a nursing home…ANYWAY! Not important…onto the good stuff…

Info: The 14 main characters all attend Manderville High School, a school for rich kids in Manderville, SC. There are two main social cliques at MHS and the 14 are spilt evenly (7 and 7) between the two. The cliques are: the ‘Preps/Jocks’ & the ‘Artistic Types’. The following is cast crap...I mean info:

In the center of the tiny town of Manderville, South Carolina, there is a giant maple tree. Surrounding this tree is a large grass area where people enjoy sitting under the large branches. It is know as ‘The Manderville Maple’ to all who live in town. Even the most renowned enemies can sit together peacefully in the leafy shade without second glance. Many things have happened around the large maple. This is a tale of friends, enemies, and love that has been etched deep into the tree’s memory and will now be passed on to you…

The room was silent…except for the sound of deep breathing. A figure lay, clad in black soffes and a white sports bra, on the queen size bed in the middle of this room. The sheets, tan in color with a palm tree print, were twisted around the body of the 15-year-old girl. It was 5:45 am and she was sleeping soundly.
Well, sleeping soundly until her alarm clock started buzzing! She jumped, still tangled in the sheets, and toppled to the floor. She stood up quickly and slammed her fist onto the snooze button of the despicable electronic and ran a hand through her brown hair.
“Today is gonna be just great…” she muttered sarcastically as she headed for her en-suite bathroom and prepared for a nice relaxing shower.
It was the morning of the first day of Junior year…she had to look perfect.
She turned on her shower radio and began singing along with the country song that had come on.

There was a sudden, rapid, banging on her bathroom door.
“Lexi will you shut-up? It’s too early for that country shit!” her twin brother Billy yelled.
“Sorry Bill!” she yelled back as she turned down the radio; she didn’t like to piss her brother off. She treated him well, even though they were in two totally different cliques and were supposed to hate each other.
Lexi and Billy have a strong bond. You see, their parents had divorced when they were 7 years old, and their mother had gotten custody. She had never been the same since and the twins basically took care of each other. He was the typical older brother (even though it was only by 1 minute and 43 seconds) and he made sure she was safe and happy.

After her shower she got dressed and did what every teenage girl does…her hair and make-up. Then she ran down the stairs to find her brother sitting out on the front porch waiting for Elijah, his best friend. The two guys had a first day of school tradition where they went to a local coffee shop before the actual day began. Lexi had a similar one with her best friend Cat, except they went to Starbuck’s…
She took in his outfit and smiled. He was wearing a green t-shirt with ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ written across the front along with jeans and green converse. His dirty-blonde hair was down and hanging ever so slightly into his green eyes. For being twins, she and her brother contrasted like night and day. They had different tastes in friends, music, style, coffee, plus they weren’t even identical.
He looked over her outfit and gave a knowing smirk. She was wearing a short, jean miniskirt along with a tight black t-shirt that said ‘My reality check bounced.’ on the front in white and some back high-heeled sandals. Her brown hair was down and curled and her make-up was perfectly applied. Her hazel eyes stared back at him and she felt a smirk form on her own lips.
“Hey Lex, nice outfit, is Cat coming to meet you?” he said
“Yeah she should be here any minute…How bout Lij?” she asked.
“Yup...actually right now.” He said as Lij pulled up in his red 1967 Ford Mustang and hopped out.
Not even 5 seconds later Cat pulled up in her blue 2005 Mazda RX-7 and stepped gently out.
The two walked towards the porch trying to avoid one another.
They contrasted greatly, Cat being from Lexi’s crew was wearing a black miniskirt, a white and black polka-dot spaghetti strap shirt, and black and white high-heeled sandals; and Lij being from Billy’s group of friends was wearing a black ‘Ramones’ shirt, jeans, and black converse.
“Lexi!” Cat cried enveloping her in a hug as soon as she’d reached her. Her gaze flicked to the boys and she politely said, “Hello Bill, Elijah.”
“Hey.” They both replied.
“Hi Lij, how are ya?” Lexi said, pulling away from Cat.
“Good, and you?” he said with a shy grin.
“Excited…Junior year has arrived…”
He nodded and the conversation died.
“Alright well we’re of as soon as I find my keys. See you boys around.” Lexi said reaching into her bag and pulling out the keys to her red 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse.
“Yeah we’ll get going too.” Billy said as he pulled the keys to his 2005 silver Ford Ranger out of his pocket and they all went to their cars.
Billy let Lexi pull out first and the four went their separate ways.

A little while after the girls had sat down in the Starbuck’s shop, the topic turned to boyfriends.
“Ok so who do you think I should date this year?” Cat asked.
“I don’t know…Brad maybe. I was thinking Orlando for me. It can’t hurt my reputation any to be seen on his arm can it?”
“You and Orlando would be good for each other. Both majorly popular…I was surprised that Orlando didn’t win Homecoming King last year.” Cat said taking a sip of her latte.
“I was too, but I can see why Dom won. He’s such a babe.” Lexi said.
“Dom is way too full of him self for your liking.”
“True.” Lexi said glancing at her watch, “We only have 45 minutes until school starts, you want to head over and see what the gang has been up to? Maybe I can snag Orli off to the side for a private little chat.”
“Okay, let’s go.” Cat said standing up and picking up her purse.
The girls headed for their cars and drove off into the early morning, full of hope for the new year.

Evelyn Summers stretched her back lightly as she got out of her silver 2004 BMW Z3. She adjusted the strap on her red stiletto sandal and then reached back into the car for her red Gucci purse. Her chocolate brown eyes flashed to the ‘Power Rangers’ toys in the back seat and she smiled slightly. She had just dropped her 5-year-old brother off at kindergarten. She practically raised him since her father was always at work and her mother frankly didn’t give a shit anymore. After raising Evie, who was their golden child, they hadn’t planned on having more children until Patrick came along unexpectedly. Evie loved her brother, but sometimes it was a hassle to have to care for him, especially if she wanted to go hang out with friends.
She smoothed out her favorite red miniskirt with the white lace trim at the bottom and pulled at her white tube-top up to ensure that she wasn’t falling out.

“Evie!” a voice called and she looked up to see Annalise, in all her blonde haired, blue eyed, cheerleading glory, stepping down from her 2004 black Range Rover. Her short, ruffled, green skirt went perfectly with her black spaghetti-strap top and green stilettos.
“Hey Anna.” Evie said when the other girl had reached her and wrapped her tightly in a hug. “How’s Em?” she asked, inquiring about Anna’s younger sister who looked up to her.
“She’s good, excited about going into the 7th grade.” Anna said as the girls fell into stride towards the front yard of the school where social groups had specific meeting areas. Their group had the best spot of course, right near the stairs so that they could watch over their domain. Evie noticed Cat and Lexi already there along with Brad, Orli, and Dom.
“Looks like we’re last.” Evie said.
“I wonder if Lexi has a new boyfriend yet.” Anna said with bitterness evident in her voice.
Even though the girls were friends, there was always some hostility between them because of the power struggle called ‘everyday life’ at MHS. For the longest time, Anna had been at the top of the food chain and even though she was cheerleading captain, Evie started to take over after winning the school pageant. Now though, it looked as if most eyes were turning to Lexi with Cat as her right-hand gal.
Evie chewed slightly on one of her bright red nails and wondered over the marvels that went on behind the scenes of the high school façade. She was still pondering this thought when someone bumped into her.
“Can’t you watch where you’re going?” Evie asked hotly.
“Geez…sorry Miss Priss.” Sarah said rolling her eyes.
“Some people have no respect for their superiors. Move drama freak…” Anna said pushing Sarah slightly and walking with Evie to the front steps of the school.

Sarah walked away feeling pissed along with utter dread about the day facing her. Of course she’d have her friends with her, the best of them being Jinx, to keep her blood pressure down. She walked to fountain where she and her friends usually meet and saw Lij, Hugh, and Billy sitting there along with Jinx.
“Hey Sarah, wait up!” Johnny called from behind her and she turned and flashed him a smile. He jogged up next to her and they walked together.
“How are ya? Good summer?” Johnny asked.
“Dreadful thanks for asking, you?” she replied with a sigh.
“Good, I went to the mountains and got in some really good drawing time. There was so much to take in up there…” he said with a twinkle in his eyes.
“I hate the fact that you can draw so well!” Sarah said.
He scoffed, “You’re just jealous.”
“Well maybe so but I have my acting to worry about.” She said.
He laughed as they reached the fountain.
“Where’s Jules?” Sarah asked looking around to see if she was anywhere close.
“No idea.” Jinx said as Sarah sat down next to her on the wall surrounding the fountain.
“Here she comes. You can’t miss that car…” Lij said.
The rest of them glanced to the parking lot and sure enough you could see Julianna’s yellow 1999 VW Beetle pulling into a space.
“Running late…again.” Jinx said as Jules hopped out and hurried towards them. In her torn jeans and faded black t-shirt, Jules looked like a musician.
“Sorry, I was reading and I lost track of time! What’ve I missed?” she said stopping next to Johnny.
“The preps have already assumed right of passage anywhere they go…” Sarah grumbled
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Hugh asked.
“Evelyn Summers ran into me and Annalise West got bitchy. What else is effing new?” Sarah said gliding her hand along the surface of the water in the fountain’s base. She wiped it off on jeans and readjusted her white peasant top.
“Anna is a bitch…and Lexi, I mean Alexandria, actually spoke this morning.” Lij said.
“To you, duh, you’ve known her since she was 5.” Johnny said in a bored tone while picking at his fingers.
“Anyway, now that we’ve talked about my sister…how was the date Jinx-y?” Billy said.
“Date?” everyone else inquired.
“Why was I not the first to know about this!?” Jules practically shouted
“It was with a guy named James, he goes to a private school in the city. It sucked, we had nothing to talk about.” Kass said.
“Better or worse than the preps at our school?” Hugh asked.
“Worse actually…if you can believe it.” She replied standing up and plucking fuzz off of her gray t-shirt and tugging at her jeans.
“When was it?” Lij asked.
“Saturday…and of course Austin was home because season hasn’t started yet and he wanted to visit for the weekend.” Jinx said, speaking of course, about her 21-year-old brother that plays football for the college that is only an hour away.
“Gawd, Austin is such a dillweed.” Jules said.
“Shut-up Jules you used to have a crush on him!” Sarah said.
“Hey! You weren’t supposed to say anything!” Jules said indignantly.
“I thought that rule died after he went away!” Sarah said
“Traitor.” Jules said bitterly.
“Traitor!? How can you call me-” Sarah started to say before Jinx cut her off.
“Both of you stop it!!” Jinx said and all the girls began to argue as the guys stared on in bemusement.

“Oh lookie…the fountain dweebs are fighting.” Anna said throwing her hair over her shoulder with a perfectly manicured nail.
Evie scrunched up her nose and turned her back to them, “What losers.”
“Umm…hello? My brother is over there. Plus Evie, you used to date Hugh. Gross…” Lexi said.
“That was in 3rd grade! It doesn’t count!” Evie said hastily. ‘Even though he has grown up to be quite a babe…’ she thought taking in his curly brown hair, faded out jeans, and vintage Green Day t-shirt. ‘Plus, he works on cars…that is so hot.’
Orlando, Dom, and Brad looked at each other and shrugged.
“Oh don’t talk Lexi, you kissed Elijah on your back porch swing.” Anna said
“That was when my dad was getting remarried! I severely distressed!” Lexi said standing up.
“Yeah right…” Cat said rolling her eyes.
“I’m walking now…Orlando?” Lexi said and he stood to go her. He grabbed her hand as they walked up the steps.
“Why does she get to date Orli?” Evie said after they had walked away and the rest of them gathered their things.
“Because he asked her…” Cat replied snottily before walking to catch up with Lexi.

A bell rang out through the yard signaling that there were 5 minutes until the school year officially began.

CHAPTER 2!!! I just wrote this entire chapter today. Hope you ladies like…I’m trying to integrate everyone into the story in their own time. Because I know I’ve sat there and explained everyone out before and well…let’s just say it didn’t work out too well. lol Leave nice reviews pleez :) ~Alli~

That was such a great chapter, Alli! I really loved. I thought you did a great job flashing between the two groups, it flowed along nicely.
I'll edit this post later and quote my favourite things/parts, but yeah, if I don't hit the sack pronto I'm going to be a dead girl tomorrow.

Light through the branches-Chapter 3

Kassidy drummed her fingers on the top of her desk. It was 4th period, the one right before lunch, and she was bored to no end. Why she had chosen to take Latin was beyond her and she knew it was going to be a long year if she was ready to kill herself on the first day.
“Latin was the official language of at least one religion for long period of time, can anyone name the one I’m thinking of? Anyone, anyone?” the teacher droned on in a monotone. [A/N: Think Ferris Bueller….‘Anyone, anyone? Something doo’ lol]
Kass looked around her at the blank faces of the students in this class with her. She noticed Brad Pitt sitting three rows over from her.
“Roman Catholic” the teacher said turning and writing it on the board.
“Excuse me Mr. Miller, this isn’t World Religions, it’s Latin.” Brad said raising his hand and speaking at the same time.
“I’m well aware of that, Mr. Pitt was it, but this is how I teach.”
Kass rolled her eyes and pulled out some paper to write notes to her friends.

Cat was stuck in Physics and had already counted the number of ceiling tiles.
“Ok I need you to um, take this form home, and um have your parents fill it out.” The teacher said in a partly squeaky voice. You could tell she was a first year.
‘She’s going to be eaten alive.’ Cat thought.
“What if we don’t live with our parents?” a girl with blue hair in the back of the room asked.
“Umm, legal guardian?” The teacher guessed and went to stand behind the lab table at the front of the room.
“Miss Sanders, Can I go piss?” Johnny asked from his seat next to the girl with blue hair.
“I suppose that’s alright.” She said, but Johnny was already half way out the door.
Cat inspected the ends of her hair and then pulled out her nail file to at least do something productive.

Jules was sitting near the back of her US History class, reading her book from earlier that morning and listening to some of her band’s demos on her cd player. The teacher had given them free time after he had passed out the necessary forms and given them a short lecture. Jules had the feeling that this was going to be her easiest class.
“Hey Larson.” Evie whispered behind her, giving her shoulder a poke.
Jules rolled her eyes, pulled her headphones down around her neck, and turned around.
“What?” she asked in an irritated tone.
“What are you reading?”
“It’s called ‘How to get rid of popular bitch queens’ thanks for asking.” Jules said before turning back around and putting her headphones on again. She turned up the volume so that she wouldn’t have to listen to any more comments from Evelyn Summers.

Lexi pulled out her I-pod under the computer table and snuck a headphone into her right ear. She was in her typing class, and already wanted to kill her step-father Bruce for making her take it. She scrolled through her play-list and landed on a song by a band that Elijah had recommended to her during their 8th grade year, before she got popular and things went weird between them. She had absolutely fallen in love with the old rock band called Foreigner. She began to mouth along with the words to one of her favorite songs ‘Jukebox Hero’. Lexi was rudely taken from her thoughts when Hugh plopped into the chair next to her and flashed a smile in her direction. Hugh could’ve been in the popular crowd had he chosen to be during freshman year. Lexi rolled her eyes and turned back to her computer where she was shopping on the internet for new shoes.

Sarah bent over to retie her black converse before straightening up and starting back on her assignment. She was in English class and they were supposed to be writing 3 paragraphs about their summer. She needed 4 more sentences, but she was completely stumped. Also, someone was making it hard for her to concentrate by tapping annoyingly. She glanced around and saw that Dom was staring at the ceiling and absentmindedly tapping his pencil against his desk.
“Would you stop it!” she hissed
“What? Oh yeah sure.” Dom said looking at his paper where he had been writing his latest plot to prank someone.
‘English is so lame...’ he thought staring around the room and realizing that there were no girls from the prep group except for a couple of sophomores, but he only hung out with the Junior preps. MHS was split by grade and social class most of the time. There were only about 300 people in each grade level so you had to have a reason to be in a clique or you would be left very alone…

Orlando was sitting on a riser in a room that was none other than the chorus room.
‘How the hell am I stuck in here?’ he thought, resting his elbow on his knee and settling his chin into his palm.
“You signed up for chorus?” Elijah asked, standing in front of him.
“No I did not, I got stuck in here. Football players, do not take chorus.” Orlando said.
“Oh that’s right, I forgot, you’re Mr. Big and Bad Quarterback.”
“Just because playing a sport never worked out for you…”
“It worked out, it just wasn’t what I wanted to be portrayed as!”
“So you rather be a drama nerd?” Orlando asked.
“Have you ever even tried acting, oh wait I forgot, you pretend to be someone you’re not everyday. At least I haven’t forgotten who the real me is.” Lij said in a cool tone before turning and walking away.

Billy lay back on the weight bench and sighed loudly. How he had gotten stuck in weight lifting was beyond him. Wasn’t the point of registering for classes so that you got the ones you wanted? The class was full of jocks and some of the girls from the gym class were in there fawning over them as they lifted. A blonde head suddenly loomed above him.
“Billy? What are you doing in here?” Anna asked.
“Wrong scheduling.” He replied sitting up as she moved back some.
“Ok, well can you tell Lexi that I want to get a latte with her after school and go over cheerleading stuff?”
“I would, but you’re going to see her before me. Did you forget she hangs with you at lunch?”
“Oh yeah…”Anna said
‘I have got to get my schedule changed…’ he thought.

A bell sounded throughout the school and the 1,198 students rose to head to the school’s very large cafeteria. Freshman had the end furthest from the Seniors, who were closest to the food lines. The Sophomores and Juniors were stuck in between in their own sections. This was how it had always been at MHS, and this was how it would always be, or was it…


…DUN DUN DUN, lol. Okeley Dokeley…I’m back from vacation and I’m done with another chapter...I told you I’d have an update :) Hope everyone liked their parts…I don’t know how that even came to me…life I guess. The part about me is so totally true, except I loved my computer class this year, mostly because I always shopped online and listened to my mp3 player…I wonder how I passed any classes this year…Anywho, back to school is 2 weeks from Monday, damn. It crept up on me. I still have to finish my summer reading. But I am going to the beach two weeks from today so it’s all good! Leave me nice reviews b/c I’ll love you forever (well most of you I already will but that’s beside the point). You guys are so special… XOXO ~Alli~

Hello my beautiful readers! I am sad to report that no, this is not an update. It is just a little bit of warning as to what is to come…I’m posting this in all of my stories by the way, you only have to read it once… :)
The parentals, Matty (aka my big brother Matt), and myself, plus Kat (aka Kit-Kat on this site…), are going to the beach in 1 day…YESS! Neither of us will be posting any new chapters during August 13-20. I may not be posting but I will certainly be working on new chapters to type as soon as I get back home.
Also, I know I personally will be slowing down with my stories after the 22nd because school starts back that day…CRAP! (lol) As Kate said, I’m already preparing my blank stare for class. I promised my parents that since I’m not doing cross-country this year, I’m going to work harder on my grades since Junior year is the most important year. Which means, I still won’t be able to know the password for the internet on the internet computer, and I won’t be able to work on my stories while my parents are awake…that’s okay though because there are plenty of hours where they are asleep and I am not. I can run on like 3 hours of sleep at school…done it before, and I can do it again for the sake of my stories. There are some sacrifices that have to be made in order to be a good author.
ANYWAY! I wanted to let you know that I am a giant slacker and suck at updating my stories as frequently as some people (myself included) would like them updated! Also, if you update your story (or have updated it any time recently), sorry it takes me so long to get around to posting my review. Today is my first time on the computer in at least a week! If you update while I’m gone next week…please send me a pm or short email if you can, telling me which story you updated, because it will be hard for me to keep up after a week away. I know it was after I went to Canada and I’m still not caught up with some of that aftermath. Thanks for everything ladies! I promise I’ll be working hard next week, I’ll have Kat with me and she helps a lot, we practically co-write all of our stories.
As for cast calls, if you think of any new story ideas while I’m away…think about possibly putting me in it (pretty please!) Most of you girlies love me enough to put me in anyway (right?) You better! lol Erm…what else, I might be having a cast call eventually if something comes to me.
Haven’t been on AIM in forever and have missed my nice chats with Cat, Jules, and Pat. *tears* You girls are the best. Can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to!
BTW: I finally read the 6th Harry Potter book! Loved it, highly recommend it, whatever the heck else I’m supposed to say about it…Daniel Radcliffe…hmm…my mind has gone blank.
Ok, I suppose that is about all for this lousy author’s note. Hope you all won’t be disappointed with the chapters I write while I’m gone. I shall see my MHS gurlies sooner than later. “59.” Cat said walking up to Lexi who was sitting on Orli’s lap at lunch.
“59 what?” Lexi asked.
“Ceiling tiles in Physics class.” Cat replied.
“That much fun?” Orlando asked with a small laugh. Lexi smiled down at him but looked back at Cat and rolled her eyes playfully.
“Hey Lexi, can we meet after school at Starbucks? We need to talk cheering.” Anna said walking up.
“Yeah sure, meet me at the usual spot after school okay?”
“Right see you then, I have to go talk to Brad anyway.” Anna said and crossed the cafeteria to where Brad was standing.
“’We need to talk cheering.’” Orlando mocked in a high pitched voice.
“Orlando…do you want your girlfriend to be on the squad this year?” Lexi asked.
“Yeah…” he said giving her a cute smile.
“Then stop making fun of Anna, I have to do this.” Lexi said as her cell rang. She pulled it out of her purse.
“Alexandria! Where is your car!?” her mother said angrily.
“Umm…it’s the first day of school, so I drove it.”
“You’re only 15! You’re not allowed to drive by yourself!”
“Mo-om! Billy drove his car today too…”
“This is not about your brother! This is about you.”
“Whatever.”
“Do not whatever me! You are grounded, and your birthday party…may just be cancelled.”
“MOM! No! It’s in 5 days!”
“Maybe you should have thought about that before you disobeyed me, and broke the law!”
“Well, what about Billy?”
“He wasn’t having a big party in the first place!”
“What does that have to do with anything? And Jesse is coming down!”
“I don’t care. He can still come, but I am seriously considering revoking all of your privileges.”
“It’s not my fault you like Billy more than me.”
“You know that’s not…”
“I hate you. I want to move in with dad.” Lexi said snapping her phone shut.
“What the hell was that?” Orli asked.
“Nothing unusual, Mom being a bitch.” Lexi replied with a shrug, “I need to go find Bill ok?”
“Yeah, I’ll see you after school.” Orlando said, kissing her quickly.
“See you Cat.” Lexi said standing up and shoving her phone back in her purse.
“Bye Lex.” Cat said before Lexi turned and walked off

“Bitch alert.” Jinx said as Lexi headed in their direction.
“I heard the only reason she passed last year was because she bent over in front of the school’s guidance counselor in a short skirt.” Jules said.
“The male staff at this school is so perverted.” Sarah said as Hugh and Johnny walked back over to them.
The 4 boys had been out on the patio at the back of the art room. This spot is the unofficial smoking place. Technically students aren’t allowed to smoke on grounds but even the principal has been seen out there smoking, along with some of the school’s most renowned smokers.
“Billy and Lij still out there?” Jinx asked.
“Yeah.” Hugh said.
“Hey guys.” Lexi said stepping up.
“Whoa, what do you want?” Johnny asked.
“Is Bill here?” Lexi asked.
“No, he’s out smoking.” Jules said glaring at her.
“Oh, ok. Thanks guys, see you later.” Lexi said turning and walking out of the cafeteria.
“What’s up her ass today, the sun?” Johnny said and they all laughed.
“You know, maybe we should be nicer, since she is Bill’s sister…” Hugh said.
“Get over yourself Dancy, you don’t need to be nice to the entire world.” Jules said and went back to eating her cookies

“You don’t even know your own sister?” Lij asked lighting up new cigarettes for both him and Billy.
“Not really anymore, something has changed in her. I have no clue what to get her.” Billy replied.
“Do you have to get her anything? I mean it’s your birthday too so maybe you’ll be off the hook.”
“That won’t work, I’ve tried it before.” Bill said taking a drag on his cigarette.
“Why don’t you just get her like a key-chain or something?”
“You idiot, she’d kill me if that were all I got her. I wish I knew what she was getting me so I’d have some idea on how much to spend…”
He stopped talking abruptly as the door swung open and Lexi walked out.
“Hey Bill, hey Lij, can one of you spare a cigarette? It’s an emergency.”
Lij flicked one out of his pack and handed it to her along with his lighter.
“Thanks.” She said after taking a long drag.
“What’s got you stressed out so bad Lexi?” Bill asked.
“Mom was being bitchy on the phone because I brought my car today. Whatever, I’m getting rid of that car soon anyway.”
“What? You just got it, why?” Billy said shocked.
“I have my reason, dad already knows it, and he says that’s fine by him. He’s also helping me out with the new car.”
“What new car?” Lij asked.
“The one I’m trading mine in for.”
Before they could ask her more, her cell rang and she walked back inside to answer it.
“Why does she want a new car? She loves hers.” Bill said
Lij shrugged and they dropped their cigarettes before heading inside for their next class.
