Feel free to post images, but please do not link them directly from websites without permission. First of all, it is not exactly a polite thing to do. Secondly, it is not pleasant for them because they pay for the bandwidth. By posting links directly, they would have to fork out extra money or waste bandwidth unnecessarily. Put yourself in their shoes or maybe as a user who desperately wants to look at the pictures on a certain site but could not because the monthly bandwidth is exceeded.

So as a guideline, please look for a separate free image hosting server. There are a couple of reliable free image hosting websites:

Villagephotos.com


Credit: When posting pictures you found on websites or LJs, make sure you credit them. You don't have to specifically give links.

Size: Try to post pictures which are no more than 600 pixel wide. If you have larger ones, hide them under a URL-code. I'll be willing to help if you do not know how to.
