Title: Best Love Scene
Description: Ewac Summer awards

Aurora - June 14, 2004 03:01 PM (GMT)
Although I feel a bit embarrassed for making the first nominees-thread and pimp my story rather shamelessly (well, alright not entirely shameless, but hey, this was not my idea in the first place so yea :P), I decided to do it nonetheless, because I won't let any opportunity to advertise my little self slip, of course ;)

Anyway, here the nominees of Best Love Scene can post excerpts of their stories!

The nominees:

• Maybe I'm amazed - Kimibloom
• Friends - Ambrosia
• Last Chance on the Stairway - Bloomiecurse
• Be your guide - Aurora

[Edited to add:] Let me remind you of the rule to stay UNDER 600 words!

Aurora - June 14, 2004 03:03 PM (GMT)
Excerpt taken from Be Your Guide - chapter 20:

Time meant nothing to me, everything meant nothing to me except the closeness of Johnny, the growing desire to sink into him like the sun into the sea on that faithful night. He became my sea and my sun all at once that night, and I wanted, needed, although it wasn’t so much an acute kind of wanting as a nagging feeling within. I didn’t just crave for his kisses or his feather-light touches, I sought for a deeper connection, a different kind of love that I could only find deep, deep inside, and I yielded to his every breath, because I wanted to be his, always, but always wasn’t good enough, what was always when time wasn’t real?

But he stilled the hunger inside, quenched the thirst within, and it was more, so much more than I could have asked him to give, but it was alright, it was magical, and he was mine, all of that beauty was mine to admire and to hold, to kiss and to love. He made me lose it completely, he made my body respond to him in ways I never held possible, he made me arch and hiss and beg and take brazenly, and I think at some point his name escaped my lips in a breath so soft that he shouldn’t have heard it, but he did, he did and he grinned without making a sound, my sun.

And he was whispering my name, he was telling me Orlando, you are beautiful and I felt like I was somebody else, like I wasn’t this Orlando he kept talking about, because I was nothing but a ball of energy soaring high above my body, and my only link to reality was him, him and his whispers and his smile and the glowing of his eyes.

He was beautiful, beautiful hovering above me, beautiful flowing through me, beautiful sinking with me, but soon it became too much, these sensations became too strong, and I looked at him, and he looked at me, and I knew I had found that connection I had been seeking and all burst into millions of pieces before falling right into place.

It was unreal, unreal but indescribably magnificent, and I felt tears slide down my cheeks because I knew, I knew finally what love was all about, and crying was the only way I could express myself. And Johnny held me, he held me and he didn’t move away just yet but he listened to my tears and understood.

Friends by Ambrosia

“You’re doing so good,” Billy whispered in Shye’s ear, as he kept a tight grip on her hand. Shye’s eyes were closed and her head was back on the pillow, as she took a brief rest from pushing. She had been at it for a while. Billy wasn’t sure exactly how long, but it seemed like an eternity to him, as he watched his wife suffering.

“Alright, Shye,” Dr. Rogers called out, “I need you to give me another big push.”
“I don’t want to,” Shye whined. A nurse wiped the sweat from her brow and carefully helped her sit back up again.
“You’re almost done,” the doctor promised, “Just a couple more.”
“I’m not stupid,” Shye said, “You’ve been saying that for a long time now.”
“Ah,” the doctor said, “But, I really mean it this time. Now, give me a big push!”

Shye gritted her teeth and did as the doctor said. She tried to follow Julie’s advice and just think about the baby. But, in all honesty, Shye was exhausted from all the pushing.
“I can see the head,” the doctor announced.
“Did you hear that, Shye?” Billy asked excitedly. Shye didn’t respond, but just gave another big push, letting out a loud scream of pain.

“One more, you can do it!” Dr. Rogers urged. Shye really wanted to curse at the doctor, but decided she had enough strength left for one more push. But, that would be it. If the baby wasn’t out after that, tough luck. So, Shye gave her last push, and collapsed back on the bed. She took in deep gulps of air, trying to regain her breath.
“Look, Shye,” the doctor ordered, “Look at your baby.”

Shye’s eyes darted open, as the doctor placed a tiny, wriggling little body into her arms. Shye felt everything around her fade away, as she gazed at her daughter for the first time. She was such a squalling, pink little thing! But, to Shye, she was the most beautiful sight in the whole world. Not even realizing that tears were streaming down her cheeks, Shye leaned forward and kissed her baby’s head.
“We’re going to clean her up for you now,” a nurse said gently, taking the baby. Shye slowly blinked, already wanting her baby back in her arms. After a moment, she turned to look at Billy.

“Did you see her?” she whispered, an amazed look on her face.
Billy just nodded, his expression that of one stunned.
“She’s so perfect,” Shye continued, “I can’t believe she’s ours.”
After a few minutes, the nurse came back with the baby, all wrapped up in a pink blanket. As she moved to hand the child to her mother, Shye shook her head.
“Let her daddy hold her.”

And, so, Billy took his daughter in his arms for the first time. Shye watched with a smile, as his eyes filled with tears. Billy just gazed and gazed at the baby, before looking down at Shye.

“Thank you,” he said wondrously.
“For what?” Shye asked softly.
“For having my baby.”
Shye smiled tremulously, as Billy placed their little girl back into her arms. At that very moment, Shye was the happiest woman in the world.

Last chance on the Stairway - Bloomiecurse

I won't ever be able to post an excerpt of one of my chapters and stay below 600 words. Those of you who are acquainted wih my stories know that I tend to post extremely long chapters.
I am sure that if I tried and post one of the ones where my main characters, let's say, share the love, and respect the limit, all effect would be lost.

For this reason I am posting a direct link o one of the most romantic and sexy a the same time intsallments I have written so far. This is the same one you'll find advertised in the "Best Sex Scene" thread. (Please, scroll down a bit, it's at midpage).

Interlude Five

Differently from 80% of the story this chapter is from Orlando's pov.
