Title: Worst Movie of All Times
Description: The movies you hated the most
LizzieLij21 - April 6, 2004 08:47 AM (GMT)
After looking at Reannon's thread of favorite movies of all times.....I decided to post the worst movies of all times. The movies that you hated
I only have a select few (I'd usually love movies, even the ones that everyone else hated....Like Srgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (the one with The Bee Gees and Peter Frampton)....just as an example)....So here they are:
1. Glitter: Of course everyone hated this one. I hated it because of a couple of reasons. I didn't like the begininng (I didn't get the montage thing) at all and there was one technical thing I didn't like (the scene where Dice is coming towards Billie Frank (Mariah Carey) at the Club). Of course I didn't finish watching this movie cause I got sick (literally....because of this film).
2. Tuxedo (Starring Jackie Chan): Same reason as Glitter, but just the usual Jackie Chan fighting bad guys thing. I liked him better with a partner (like Owen Wilson in Shanghi Noon/Shanghi Knights)
3. Duets (Starring Gwenyth Paltrow): I didn't like the whole story to this movie...with the Karaoke thing, it just sorta bug me. But I did like the song between Huey Lewis (of Huey Lewis and the News fame) and Ms. Paltrow.
4. The Rich Man's Wife (Starring Hallie Berry): The only reason I didn't like this one is because it was too melodramatic. And even though Hallie Berry does a good job overall as an actress, this movie just didn't cut it for her.
That's all that I can think of at the moment, but after I watch some more movies, I will come up with some more reviews.
Please, tell me what you think are your worst movies of all time. Trust me, You will probably add either Glitter (like I did) or Gigli (I have yet to see this movie) as your top two worst movies of all time, if you have seen them.

Ha, I think this is a great idea Lizzie...
1. Pinata: Survival Island - A horror movie about a possessed pinata. Need I say more?
2. Master of Disguise - I seriously wanted to put a blow torch do the screen. No plot and all attempts at humour just came out as stupidity.
3. Kangaroo Jack - It's a talking kangaroo who steals money! I mean, come on!
4. In the Winter Dark - Ok, this is strange, but this is one of my favourite movies of all time! It's terrible, but I've never laughed so hard in a movie than in this one.
Oh, I hate many more movies but that'll do for now.
I'm sorry to anyone who likes these movies! Just my humble opinion ^_^.

Thanks man, I really appreicate it. Oh I have to add another one to my list:
5. The Prince and Me (Starring Julia Stiles): I was more bored with this film then hating this one. The reason that it was boring because it had the same elements as Ever After (The Cinderella story starring Drew Barrymore), but it was more reality based....sorta. It did have some cute/funny moments, but overall....it was boring and it was overromantized.

Celandine - April 7, 2004 11:04 PM (GMT)
Hmm, let's see...I can think of a couple stinkers:
1. The Pallbearer: This movie starred David Schwimmer from "Friends", so I thought it might actually be good, but it sucked. The plot was basically that this middle-aged woman's son dies, and she mistakes David Schwimmer's character for her son's friend (when he actually has no idea who the guy is, the only funny part is when he has to make up a eulogy off the top of his head). It progressively gets grosser because he ends up sleeping with this guy's mom and any good thing in the movie was lost.
2. Bicentennial Man: Robin Williams played the "robot" that became "real" in the movie. I just thought this movie was way too long and with its undeserved "PG" rating it just had some very unrealistic plot lines (like the girl falling in love with a robot).
3. Artificial Intelligence: This movie was also waay too long and just bizarre. They seriously could have ended it halfway through the movie. I thought it wasn't the best movie for Haley Joel Osment and Jude Law to be in because it probably hurt their careers.
4. *agreeing* Kangaroo Jack: This movie was just incredibly dumb - I don't think there were any non-slapstick or good one-liners...I felt that my IQ dropped by watching this movie.
5. The Stupids: Like the title, this movie was stupid...
bludst@ndrozez - April 7, 2004 11:34 PM (GMT)
oof... half of these i havent even heard of... damn europe. <_<
Mona Lisa Smile - okay, make me SICK. seriously, if it wasnt Julia Roberts and she had had the guts to go back to the goddam school it would've been good - like The Dead Poet Society. But it was, and she didnt, so it wasnt.
Iron Giant - bad plot, bad animation, annoying morals, and characters that really really bugged me. bleh.
The Secretary - ugh. No. Bad. I went to see this at a matinee type thing and there were all these like dirty old men sitting in the theater and of course they had to sit RIGHT next to us, they couldnt spread out at ALL... they only came cuz it makes out in the posters that its a pornographic type film. Which it is, sort of. But Lack of plot, of believeable characters, and of decent sex scenes. If ur gonna make a pornographic type movie that centers around violent sex, at least SHOW some sex! DAMMIT!
The Ring - scary, interesting plot, but my GOD how corny. The ending killed it. She shoulda saved the guy too. Damn it. I cant explain why i didnt like it that much. But i didnt.
right... thats it for now. I havent seen a lot of movies, and the ones i do see i tend to like. Lol.
Chapstick - April 8, 2004 02:56 AM (GMT)
I actually thought Iron Giant was really cool, but maybe it's just me. (I also like Julia Roberts, too, so...)
Spice World - what. the. hell. It made no sense whatsoever. All I really remember was that there was some lady that was going to have a baby. And they were late for a concert or something. Just all around bad plot, script, and acting. As always: singers turned actresses = no f :ups: ing way.
Mafia - It's about an Italian mob family and could have made a really funny story. Unfortunately, it was all really sick humor (this little 9 year old wishes on a star to make his 9 year old "girlfriend's" boobs grow). And it was told in a way that made no sense at all. And about 12 guys were named TONY!!!!!! It was just really, really, stupid. Lots of the bright red obviously fake blood, too.
Three Men and a Baby - This was referred to me by someone who claimed it was really, really funny. But it was all the "heheheh... ehhhhhh" humor where you know that you should probably be laughing, but you don't really want to. It's also incredibly unrealistic. As stupid as guys are, I'm sure they could figure out how to put on a diaper and make a bottle of formula.
Matt - April 8, 2004 12:13 PM (GMT)
The Big Blue Freaked me out really badly. Weird plot, one decent actor in the whole movie, and.. Bleeh. Sure, it's beautiful, and I guess some might think it's charming, but I hated it, the end bugged me incredably much, when he left with the dolphins. I mean, come on! He had a pregnant girlfriend for crying out loud! (It makes sense if you have seen it)
LizzieLij21 - May 3, 2004 05:17 AM (GMT)
Those are some Intresting choices. I thought that Spice World was uber hilarious (Because it was stupid). I like Bicentennial Man (sorry Celandine, but if it's any comfort to you, I sorta didn't like A.I....it was too long and boring).
I do have to agree with bludst@ndrozez though, I hated the Ring. First of all, I work at a movie theater...so I saw the ending to that movie over and over again when I ushered. And when I did see the entire movie, I thought the movie was a Joke. It was nothing like the Excorist or something of that calaber.
Any other movies that you hated, guys? It's good for the popluation (so that they don't have to see the movie.)

trufaith - May 3, 2004 10:43 AM (GMT)
Dazed and Confused. Didn't get it at all. I went to buy the Empire Records soundtrack and the lady there told me she loved the movie and made such a deal about D&C. So we watched it and it was so lame. It said on the case "See it with a bud" and "highly recommed" so if you were to watch it, it might be a little bit better when you're high.
CeruleanFlame - May 3, 2004 09:42 PM (GMT)
I've only got one:
Thunderpants: Absolute waste of time. The most pointless, childish, pathetic movie i have seen in all my life that only probably appeals to ten year old boys because no one else would in their right minds want to watch it (i only did because rupert grint was in it). I think the title speaks for itself. A boy who is born with an uncontrollable 'gas' problem is taunted and teased all throughout his childhood, and the only person who becomes his friend is a guy who can't smell(rupert grint, and he's supposed to be a major genius, yeah, right!) and he invents some sort of special pants for the main guy so whenever he farts, the smell doesnt go everywhere. Oh god, i cannot describe the terror of this movie. I don't know why any one of the actors agreed to be in this, i cant believe keira knightley agreed to be an extra. I think this is one of those movies rupert will look back on and say 'what the fuck was i thinking?'.
I think im about done.
Laila - May 4, 2004 09:28 AM (GMT)
You think The Ring is one of the worst movies you've ever seen Heidi?
Phew...
I mean I am not a fan of the horror genre in general - but this I found not that bad actually - and it sooo freaked me out cause I watched it alone in my flat and at night - god I couldn't sleep afterwards because I kept hearing weird noises everywhere ;)
I guess one of the wors movies I have ever seen is - sorry Lij - But Deep Impact. Guh! Disgusting! Especially Elijah's part actually... *lol* and there is no jealousy speaking... Just teh worst script and dialogues ever...
*shudders*
The Sapphire - May 4, 2004 07:24 PM (GMT)
The Ring was an excellent movie.. She didn't save the guy because she didn't know how to, otherwise I'm sure she would have. What's scary to you might not be scary to others, and vice versa. The Exorcist is supposedly the scariest movie of all time, yet I didn't think it was frightening at all. I thought it was rather funny. I thought The Ring was more interesting, and better in every sense.
Okay, my list of worst movies:
Thunderpants
(for all the reasons my sister mentioned)
40 Days and 40 Nights
(ridiculous lines, insignificant plot, and downright offensive)
Scary Movie
(there's funny, then there's just plain nasty.)
WhiteAndie - May 5, 2004 09:44 PM (GMT)
you know? i just remember how much i hate Crossroads when i saw the thread in there... i mean, probably she could be worse, but oh my... she had to be the sweet angel? i mean, i can't see Britney in that character! i just can't! my mind is blocked!! lol
Another? i didn't like "Not another teenage movie" i didn't laugh, and i found it stupid ...
mmm .... i can't remember anymore... Oh! i don't like any of the Olsen twins movies... eick!
lol

Then don't go see New York Minute! It's got the Olsen Twins in it!
I know that was lame warning Andie, but I wanted to give you a head up (in case you got any family members....if any really......who like and/or love the Olsen Twins)
From your favorite sister,

Oooh! Interesting topic!
I must take this opportunity to gripe about
Queen of the Damned:
First of all, it's too goth. It was way too commercialised, and I felt really insulted by the fact that Hollywood took the work of my favorite author and turned it into teen angst box-office fodder.
I know I'm probably peeing against the wind here, but I can't stand Stuart Townsend. I'm sorry, but the only person I can see as Lestat is Tom Cruise. Lestat is supposed to be lovable-cocky, and Townsend was just plain cocky =P
The fact that they took The Vampire Lestat and QOTD and tried to squish both great books into one crappy movie really irks me. Doing this left no time for the story of the twins, which is interagal to understanding how it all ends up. They also left out all feeling Lestat had about Louis and Claudia...whether it was for fear of homophobia, paedophlia, or both is unclear, but it sucked nonetheless.
My main bitch about the storyline in the movie, though, was the fact that they portrayed Marius as being Lestat's sire. I'm a firm believer that a big part of Lestat's personality stems from the fact that Lestat's
real sire gave him no choices and taught him nothing about what he was. He had to figure everything out for himself, and the fact that in the movie, Marius explains everything to him just gets to me.
Anyway, I've rambled on enough...for those of you on livejournal, check this out:
ANTIQOTD And to those of you who haven't, read the books! You'll be a convert forever!

Since I work at a movie theater, I saw a little bit of it. And yea, it does suck. It's just basically the Olsen Twins running around New York and just looking good before they turn 18 next month (I think....from what I heard).
Hope that was enough for ya.

I LOVED the Queen of the Damned. It was the only Vampire movie I actually watched until the end, and I adored it. I honestly don't care for the books - and it's just a tad ridiculous to say it's crap because it doesn't follow your potential of what you read.

First of all, I never said that my opinion was the gospel or anything, it's just that: MY opinion. Furthermore, I thought that the premise of this entire thread was to give opinions on bad movies, and WHY we thought they were bad. From the way you put it, your comment should really be directed to everyone who's called out a "bad" movie in this topic, shouldn't it?
As to the logic behind my opinions about QOTD, I understand that some who've read Anne Rice CAN look at the book and the movie as two completely seperate entities, and appreciate each for it's own strengths. I just happen to be one of the many who can't. I truly believe that when someone takes on the task of making a book-based film, they should stay quite true to the book, or not bother at all. Just look at the way IWTV was made: very few details were changed or left out of the movie version, and those that were could be done without and were actually like little treasures of knowledge that you felt priveledged to know if you saw the movie and later read the book (as I did.) The extra details that the book contained didn't help me to understand any part of the story more, which, I think, is the mark of a great adaptation. At NO point during the movie version of IWTV did I feel lost or confused as to what was going on, but I've talked to tons of people that felt that way after seeing the movie version of QOTD.

Bad movies
1! Crossroads.. may Brittney never play a leading role again
2! Glitter.. ditto about Mariah Carey
3!Tuxedo.. really BAD
4! Bubble Boy... I just didn't like it!!
... and that's all I can think of right now!

oh boy...
Crossroads... WTF WAS THAT?!?! why did she try acting?!?!? that script was lame, obvious, ridiculose, plain, boring, did i say lame??? and during the part when he is playing the piano i couldn't take it anymore and laughed to no end. don't u think her father was a bit TOO nice???
the ring... i didn't like it. it had a couple of freaky shoots, but that's it. i watched with some friends and paused it to laugh and ask why we were watching it.
fear and loathing in las vegas... i watched the same day i think and i don't know... maybe we weren't in the mood for a movie, cuz we didn't like it. i didn't get the point of it (i know that all of u are saying "WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THIS CHICK!?" and i'm sorry... but I HATED THAT MOVIE! but i'm thinking of giving it a second chance. the actors were great either way)
titanic... another film i don't know why i hated it so much
i can't think of any other now... but i've seen so many bad movies... -_-
BruisesFade - May 16, 2004 09:15 PM (GMT)
I have tons, but here are the ones I hate the most...
40 Days and 40 Nights - sex. sex. sex. that's all it was about, and there really was nothing to the movie except (once again) sex. and flying boobs. absolutely the worst movie in the entire world.
8 Mile - ruined ending. it should have ended up with him doing something great, but no no no he just walks down an alley. and the whole stupid thing with his girlfriend, and then the guy that accidentally shoots himself. ehh.
Crossroads - stupid. britney. stupid. pointless. stupid. I only liked Mimi in that movie [the girl with the baby] bad singing. did i mention stupid?
Gothika - I don't know why. I just hated it.
Can't think of any more at the moment...
LizzieLij21 - May 17, 2004 01:45 AM (GMT)
I have a new movie that I hated. Yet again.
6. The Triplets of Belleville (Starring Michele Caucheteux): This is a French film about a guy name Champion who gets kidnapped during the Tour de France and his grandma and Champion's dog Bruno have to save him. Along the way they meet the Triplets of Belleville (a singing triplet who back in the day were popular). This is a recent film and was nominated for a couple of Academy Awards. The reason I didn't like this film is that it scared me half to death....in terms of the animation. And I sorta didn't like the fact that the French percieve all Americans as Fat....and I do mean All Americans. But then again, what do I know about the French. But the only thing I did like about this movie was the title song. Heck....It's a really catchy song. But overall, I didn't like this movie.
Lizzie
hollybaggins - September 8, 2004 04:24 PM (GMT)
Here's mine.
- Crossroads - Was there even a point to this film?? It seemed like the producers sat there and thought; "Right. Britney Spears is a seller. We can have her in a film and work a plot around her." It was pointless; worthless. She can't even act anyway. :meh:
- Spice World - As a Brit; I'd like to apologise on behalf of my country for this terrible film...and that bloody girl band. *Bangs head against desk as she remembers being obsessed with that band* :faint:
- Harry Potter - Sorry Potter fans - but I ain't one. It all seems the same to me; 'Harry goes to school...somethings wrong...oh dear...harry saves the day...' Ye-ah...like a kid with only a few years of wizardary experience could kick out the bad guys when there's older and wiser teachers at the school. And I know it's a kids book...but it just really annoys me.
- King Arthur - bored me.
- Little Shop of Horrors - my friend loves this musical. Why?? Made me watch it and I almost DIED watching this pile of shite!! It's crappier than crap in Crapsville.
- James Bond - all the same. *Waves it off*
- Free Willy - hate any films that contain animals in captivity. I was apart of a charity organisation and we raised enough money to save the orca who played Willy; Keiko and put him back into the wild. So, technically, I freed Willy! Ha! (Yes...feel the same way about Flipper. Topless 'Lijah is the best thing about that movie.)
- The Mummy Returns - the first film was fantastic. This one was just an excuse to show off more special effects. Ugh.
- The Matrix - snoreeeee
Miss Cicero - October 20, 2004 07:23 PM (GMT)
1. Blue Crush
No, I'm not flaming Ms Kate Bosworth, but sorry girl - you fxxxxxx can't act! Running around in a bikini all the way through the movie doesn't make it better.
2. Scary Movie 1+2
Was that supposed to be funny?! The 3rd one was brilliant, though. I never thought that "Signs", "The Ring", "LotR" and "( Mile" would go together so well
3. Anything and everything starring Jennifer Lopez
Ok, so she's got some talent as a singer, but she can't act. Period.
4. Matrix II and III
God, how I loved the first one - and how I hated the two sequels! How can anyone turn such a brilliant idea into such crap? I was horrified and furious to have wasted my money on a ticket.
well, that's the only ones I can think of atm.
LizzieLij21 - January 13, 2005 05:18 AM (GMT)
Anyone else has a movie that they thought was the worst movie of all times?
Elijahfan14 - January 13, 2005 05:45 PM (GMT)
Ok, here's some of my least favorites.
1. Shrek
This movie was the worst movie I ever saw. It was stupid and not funny at all.
2. Alexander
It was way too long for the plot they had. There was no distict storyline, they kept jumping around the timeline and facts weren't accurate. It was the same thing over and over.
~Stacy~
Celandine - January 13, 2005 08:13 PM (GMT)
I have a really good (bad?) one for this thread:
Plan 9 From Outer Space - if you guys haven't ever seen this, I would recommend it just because it's so fun to make fun of. It may be a bit hard to find, but it was actually named the worst movie ever made. It's about this alien race who is trying to take over Earth (using Plan 9...apparently plans 1-8 totally bombed...and actually the 9th plan did too, but whatever *laughs*) and in this plan they bring people back from the dead to uh...look really fake and...kill people. The main character of the movie is one of the guys who dies at the beginning and comes back as a zombie and was supposed to be played by Bela Lugosi (who played the original old movie Dracula I think), but he died when they had barely started filming it. Now normally the death of the star with only a few minutes of footage would call for recasting and redoing the footage, right? Ha, you would think so. They actually kept the footage (and use a bit of Bela coming out of the forest in a cape about 15 times...yes, the same exact clip) and instead had the producer's wife's chiropractor (who was 35 and a foot taller than Bela) stand in as Bela's character and just hold his cape in front of his face the entire time. Oh yeah, and Vampira is also in it as the weird zombie lady who never says anything. This movie was made in the late 50's, but still it is no excuse for the tons of mistakes in the movie...let me name a few: In the graveyard when the "spaceship" is going to land, the wind from it blows over some of the obviously cardboard gravestones. The "spaceship" is like one of those you would have for a toy suspended from an obviously visible string in "outer space". The dialogue is laughable (example:"For a time we tried to contact them by radio but no response. Then they attacked a town, a small town I'll admit, but never the less a town of people, people who died."). Oh yes, and they like to change from day to night between shots...multiple times. I could name a whole lot more things, but I think you all get the idea. Go rent it and you will laugh pretty hard at how ridiculous it is.
Miss Cicero - April 5, 2005 06:07 PM (GMT)
got another one
Dreamcatcher.
I saw it and thought, HELLO? how bloody stupid is this? a group of boys get superpowers when saving a helpless boy from some bullies, and then they fight an alien? ALIEN? that is SO dumb. I didn' even think it was mystical, scary or anything it said on the dvd. what a waste of time. The only thing I liked about it was Thomas Jane :hospital:
Ambrosia - April 19, 2005 03:28 AM (GMT)
A little movie called...
Very Bad Things
Cameron Diaz is in it....as well as some other fools. It is the sickest, most horrid movie ever. It made me throw up, literally, I got so sick. Full of pointless violence and nasty, dirty people. In my opinion, worst movie of all time.
LizzieLij21 - May 3, 2005 07:05 AM (GMT)
Anyone else have their pick of worst movie?
sxc_stylez - May 17, 2005 12:52 PM (GMT)
Well I don't know about the worst movie of all time, but I watched this one a couple of days ago and well, my memory span isn't that long. ^_^
Mac And Me
I remember watching it on TV when I was a kid and I loved it, then I saw my friend had it the other day so we watched it, and my god, what was I thinking?? It seems like the only way producers even picked up the story was because McDonalds or Coke was paying them big-bucks for the putting their merchandise in it. I mean, come on! A dying alien who is restored by drinking coke? I'm sure it's a great movie for kids because they aren't as cynical as adults and don't nit-pick every single tiny thing they think is wrong in the movie, but to me I wished I'd never seen it again and just kept the memories of it from my childhood. And what's the deal with that McDonalds dance sequence? It's not a musical so there is no need to jump onto tables and start dancing.
sxc_stylez - May 17, 2005 01:16 PM (GMT)
Oh yeah and I forgot to add that it is a total rip-off of ET. And it ain't even a good rip-off.
Reannon - August 26, 2005 05:01 PM (GMT)
Thirteen Ghosts - gah...just mind numbingly dumb - the only good thing is that some of the ghosts were slightly scary
Jeepers Creepers - *shudder* - why are people in movies always stupid enough to go BACK to the place where the killer/monster obviously has his/her/its lair??? Apparently there is a sequel to this, but thank the lord I haven't seen it.
Both of these movies were a 'group' decision in first year rez...beware group decisions...

i hate 'Top Gun' with Tom Cruise...i have to admit that there are some good parts, but being the romantic that i am i just couldn't get my head round the relationship between his charatcer and Kelly McGillis' character - i didn't believe it at all! there was something about them together that just made me scream...
~Jewelz~ - June 8, 2006 12:03 AM (GMT)
Okay, so perhaps it's not one of the WORST movies of all time-
But X-men 3 really just makes me want to cry. As in, everytime I think of it, I die a little on the inside.
Then again, I could be being a little overdramatic (just a little).
*laughs* Oiy...
Celandine - December 6, 2006 05:18 AM (GMT)
I just remembered this thread, and I have to add this just because I thought the movie was quite ridiculous:
Snakes on a Plane - Ok, so Samuel L. Jackson was the only cool thing about that movie...and Kenan Thompson landing the plane. But ok, we knew there were going to be snakes on the plane, we just didn't know where. So there was plot until the plane (terrorists taking down an ENTIRE plane just to kill that one guy? Uhh...wouldn't they just have killed him before he got on the plane if they'd wanted him dead that badly? Or after he got off?), and then it was seriously about 45 minutes of "Snakes: *bite people*; People: *scream and try to get away, but get bit anyway, most swell up all nasty like and die*" while Samuel L. Jackson is mostly "*stabs snakes dead* *never gets hurt through the entire movie even though he's just as vulnerable as the rest of them* *has one cool line regarding being sick of mother effing snakes on the mother effing plane*". I don't think I can ever ride on a plane again without checking the floor first...so creepy. I'm glad I wasn't the one paying for my movie ticket when I saw this.

I can't believe I haven't found this before, me personally as an actor I get to rant about movies I thought were bad.
1. Blue Crush: I agree taht in this movie Kate Bosworth can't act, maybe in like Beyond the Sea she can or whatever but I didn't like the movie, it bored me to death and I didn't like Kate's acting ability in it, I've seen her do better.
2. Crossroads: Only one thing to say: Brittany Spears can not act! I as an actor thought she was terrible, she knew nothing on acting! I felt bad for Zoe Saldana (anamaria from POTC and from Center Stage) who played one of her friends who out acted her throughout the whole film and had to go through with that film, I think Zoe is a better actress than Britt and I wished she hadn't starred in this film.
3. Blow Dry: a British Josh Hartnett film starring Alan Rickman and some other people, some funny parts but very strange and had really not much of a plot line, except they are in a Hairdresser competion. Alan Rickman as a Hairdresser is the only thing that gets me through that film, Josh isn't bad but he has also done better.
I can come up with more later trust me I will.
