I decided to make my own columns, serious and practical, it all for the love of writing. With this I don't intend to make what I say as rules, I just want everyone of us to improve our writing and take more into account simple things like grammar, punctuation, the vital importance of a Beta-Reader, development of a plot, making and creating characters, screenplays, etc.
All of this will be developed in my columns, I'd feel glad and flattered if you leave comments on them (wether good or bad). And don't expect me to be 'soft' sometimes I will criticize but with respect, and of course without saying names to avoid hurting suceptibilities. As I said, I do all of this for the love for writing and because I'm serious in my attmpt and will of becoming a good writer, in english and in spanish too.
- Why of the columns:
I've seen, came across some stories that have awesome plots and I've came across so many other with bad plots but good descriptions, or with lack of punctuation etc... Of course we can't describe a fic as perfect, All the fics have their lacks, and not all of them are perfect... wait... There's no a perfect fic, in my opinion. Now we have the first idea of this and it is:
'There's no perfect fic, but we can work for it to become that, or just close to our ideal of perfect fic'
All of you shopuld take into account that with the word 'perfect' I'm referring to the 'body' of the fic, not as some of you may think 'the plot or the characters' because all of them are matters of the writer and I'd be stepping in to forbidden ground and I don't meant to discuss about plots, are too subjective and are too many to analyze. Now that I made clear my point I can keep on going: this colums will be provided freely and kindly by me and some colaborators from other sites for us to improve and make of our fics things that are worth reading and why not, publishing.
Principally the idea for these columns came from several fics I'm reading in and out this site, books for writers and another personal reasons (like the wish of becoming a real writer). F.e I read this fic writen by a person who is not english speaker, I mean native, so I saw some little mistakes in thw riting even when the plot was ideal and great the lack of knowledge in the punctuation and elglish grammar made of the fic a mess, and to add ALL OF US when are starting to write tend to write how we speak and think, which makes the paragraphs or ideas almost unreadable or impossible to understand. That is the main reason.
All of us, as member of a forum which principal objectives are to give a space for the writers to expose their job and publish them, know that 'KNOWING WHAT YOU WRITE ABOUT IS FUNDAMENTAL'. That's another one of the reasons, give just main steps and ideas to develop an good fan fiction or story, not just write because I wanted to, you need a plan, always.
But I think I've extended my little 'WHY OF THE COLUMN' column and I'm revealing the ideas of the further columns I'll write, so I stop here and leave to you the choice of reading or not, improving or not or just passing as another user or reader in the fan fiction sections. Any comments, ideas, complaints, insults, bows, etc... Will be received with pleasure and happiness.
By now I'll leave you with the summary of columns that will be published weekly in this same forum:

This sounds like a great idea! I know I could use some help just because I get so used to reading my own writing that I don't see my errors.
