Description: Zeal has the body of an acrobat more than a warrior, making him very lean despite his strength. His hair is kept at a medium length and more often than not swept back from his face. As for facial hair, he rarely grows a full mustache or beard but very now and then he leaves so he has just a hint of growth around his chin.
For clothing he wears standard military garb, often sleeveless shirts and close fitting trousers and boots with a broad leather belt, but he also has a variety of more informal attire when situation arises. He also has a set of armour covered in dragon designs on the breastplate, so it usually stays out of sight.
Personality: When he was younger Zeal was a very unpredictable person, and although rarely cruel he was hardly sympathetic. However as he as grown older he has settled down a bit and is far from the rash youngster he used to be. Now he often consider a situation before acting and is more often than not, quite level headed. That said there is still the wildness of his Grey kin blood in his personality as well as the desire to be free.
As a result he is well like by the men that serve under him, and despite their differences he genuinely cares for them. That has earned him the reputation of being fiercely protective as well as a hard task master, often fighting those who try to criticise his detachment. The main flaw in his personality is his bitterness from being restrained from living free and although he tries to not let it show, every now and then it overwhelms him, causing him to drive away people close to him.

History: Zeal was born in the reed mountains over seven and a half centuries ago to two grey parents. His childhood was pretty standard for any dragon child and for a grey he was quite emotionally stable. His first century was spent amongst hi people enjoying the freedom of his life while adapting and learning his developing powers.
However the wanderlust that strikes the young of any race overtook him and so he traveled, going far to the north and seeing the wonders of ice and snow, as well as the dragons that lied there. Although he never felt truly at ease in their company he was tolerated and marveled at the beauties he saw.
Again he moved on, going as far as he could until he came across a vast expanse of water that he tried to cross, although after going for nearly a week and not seeing land he was forced to return, nearly dieing in the attempt. The next few years were spent in the hot south lands and once visiting the shadow lands of the black kin, a place that he definately was not welcome. It was here he met and lost his first mate, a blue kin by the name of Kara. He spent over two centuries with Kara, having three children together. However she died after fighting an infection from a wound. He mourned her death and found he couldn't stay in the south any more, leaving his children and flying west.
The next century was lost to him spent in a mindless existence after the death of his mate. All he can remember of the time is seeing the destruction of Gold kin clan by humans the wielded the magic of the dragons. In retrospect Zeal realised he must have seen one of the first ever dragon hunts.
All the time his powers flourished and by the time he returned home almost five hundred years later he was a powerful male, in the prime of life only to see the rise of the mages and the hunting of dragons. He spent nearly fifty years hiding away deep in the mountains but more and more the humans encroached on the dragons' lands forcing them to live amongst the humans.
Deciding that under their nearly useless noses would be the best place to hid, Zeal applied to join the king's Army, entering as an officer. As the years passed by and people up the command-chain died Zeal made it to the rank of captain, given the control of a group of ninety men. He has tried to keep his head down by not playing the political game and although he probably won't be further promoted he has the trust of his men.
This constant exposure has diluted his view of humanity and taught him that as a rule most humans don't really care about dragons either way and so he has become more accepting of them, despite his continued hatred of the royalty.
