Once again, a great deckmaster.

Let's have a look at the deckmaster. The idea of getting certain cards to your hand by paying 1000 life points is good, and seeing as many deckmasters have that effect and do not have to pay life for it to use, I would decrease the life point cost to 800 for playtesting.
At least you get useful monsters out.
Supporting the Zombie theme, you could add Pyramid Turtle to the search-able cards.
Other deckmasters get average cards for no cost, you get good cards for some payment.
Furthermore, for some other Zombie support, you could increase the defense of Energy Draining Skull Tower by 400 or 500.
Originally, Zombies were made to cripple the opponent's deck, and this is where they should be boosted.
How about the following, a finishing effect for this deckmaster?
When this card is special summoned to the field, negate it's normal effect.
When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent's life points, discard the top (6 - 10, not sure yet) cards from your opponent's deck and remove them from game.

You may wonder why I want to strengthen your deckmaster that harshly - I just know there are several others that win in 4 turns or create horrible beatsticks...

On to the support monster. The 300 ATK increase serves well, as this monster gains more power from further attacks.
But the spell-counter effect is way too strong. Basically, even if you tribute a Zombie, you get a counter and can destroy an opponent's monster.
And there are not many traps that target a specific monster. At least this effect is not overpowered.
Instead of the destroy-monster effect, you could add a disruption effect.
Remove 1 spell counters from this card to send the top card of your opponent's deck to the graveyard.
Remove 3 spell counters from this card to choose a card in your opponent's hand at random and discard it to the graveyard.

I just tried to adjust it more to the Zombie theme, and you do not have to use my changes 1:1. Maybe you do not even use them at all, it is your deckmaster. ^^

The 500 life point payment seems okay, still, I would increase it to at least 600 or 700 - the cards you get are really worth paying some life.

But, I do not agree with the negate-effect thingy. This is not the purpose of Zombies.
Have you ever played Duelmasters?
It could be compared to releasing a Nature card that forces the opponent to discard a card from his hand.
Zombies are disruption, this is how they were meant to be.
Negating effects is not a Zombie-effect. Zombies return, and if they strike, they cause havoc, but of different kind than damage.
I highly, highly suggest a revival, deck- or hand-disruption effect, because this is typical for Zombies.
You may guess why the card 'Robbin' Zombie' is called like that and not 'Robbing Fairy'.

Not that the effect would be too strong, indeed it is too weak, but that is just due to the fact that Zombies are not suited for heavy attacks.

Vampire's Servant's effect is still too strong(this time both effects involving the spell counter) and, again, not typical for Zombies. Anyone would use spellcasters with this deckmaster, getting spell counters on Vampire's Servant and nuking the opponent to home.

This deckmaster and his support is a good idea, the improved revival effect of Vampire Lord and his Servant are a very good idea, but besides that, you miss the point of Zombies somehow...

Undead Poet - June 24, 2004 01:36 PM (GMT)
Okay, better.

@Vampire Lady: Exclude Vampire Kain from the revival effect.

@Vampire's Servant: 1 Counter for discarding a card from deck, 2 Counters for discarding from hand, that is fair.

@Vampire Kain: Basically, this is a beefed up version of Mephisto, the Infernal General. But he does not possess the defense-piercing ability, so his ATK could be a bit higher.
I suggest 2250 ATK; but if you restrict Vampire Kain to 1, you may as well go up to 2400.

Smeet - June 24, 2004 10:12 PM (GMT)
Is the Vampire Kain discard a random, or do they choose?

Perfect.
I just hope Kyubi will look at it, because, in my opinion, this should really find a way into the next upcoming deckmaster set.

Aubrey - June 26, 2004 12:40 AM (GMT)
