This is my pathetic first stab at a post in this section.
On Sunday night, they aired the first two episodes of Carnivale here in Australia. During the promo's they advertised Carnivale as coming from the people who brought us Six Feet Under and Angels In America. I love SFU, and liked what i saw of AIA, and from what i had heard here on the board was really looking forward to seeing the series. And not just for the Clea, either.
Although i had heard little bits and pieces about the show, i really wasn't too sure what to expect. But at the end of the two hours, i had thoroughly enjoyed what i had seen, and now look forward to seeing the rest of the series.
It seemed to have a bit of everything-mystery, suspense, drama, and even a little humour. It is difficult to tell at the moment, seeing as though i've only watched two hours, but it appears as though they have done a fair job with the casting aswell.
And what i really like, being a Clea fan, is that it seems Carnivale will be a chance for Clea to show off her range of acting skills and her true ability, which i really look forward to seeing.
So, all in all my first Carnivale experience was a pleasant one, and it's got me wanting more. Hopefully i'll feel the same way throughout the rest of the series.
Oh, and i recommend it to anyone who hasn't caught it yet.
I was totally hooked on Carnivale. It was just different to any other program I had saw. It gets great later when the characters start to unfold. I so cannot wait for season 2.
Good first stab anyway.

Carnivale is a great show because you can't watch each episode once. If you do, you miss a bunch of little clues and hidden messages.
I've tried to watch each episode twice, and even watching the first eisode for the third time yesterday, I saw stuff that I missed the other times I've seen it.
I love it because it's like a little puzzle, and the plot lines just twist and turn, just when you think you've got something figured out... the story goes in a different direction and you start from square one.
I hate shows that have everything wrapped up in an hour... there is nothing to keep me watching the next week... I love most HBO originals. Six Feet Under, The Soprano's, Carnivale, Sex and the City, and even Family Bonds... God I love HBO.
HBO does a phenominal job with everything that they produce.
Carnivale was just one example of greatness. I can't wait for the new season. I have so many questions that I want to figure out. I need to watch season 1 again though. Get my head ready for the trip its about to begin.
We get the HBO shows later when someone else picks them up on cable. I really do wish cable would get HBO so we could watch the great movies and shows they put out.
