Title: Interesting Interview
Description: just found this
Crystie - April 7, 2004 02:24 AM (GMT)
i was going around the web looking for clea stuff and i found this article..i had seen the pic from it before but never the article...Clea is only in a part of it but this is what it was:
Moving right along with whatever dignity I have left, Clea DuVall is a well-liked actress who shines in her niche of playing sympathetic oddballs and fringe characters. In The Faculty, they thought she was a lesbian, but she wasn't. In But I'm a Cheerleader, they thought she was a lesbian, and she was. And now, in Thirteen Conversations About One Thing—an arty, capital-M Meditation on fate versus chance versus choice—24-year-old Clea sings in a choir, almost drowns, is hit by Matthew McConaughey's car, and treasures a doll head. Over coffee at Essex House last week, the California actress told me, "I'm starting to think maybe it's me that's a little odd. I'm definitely attracted to characters that aren't the norm, that aren't girls you see every day."
Good news for her: DuVall's not a brooding outsider in everyday life too. "I was 19 when I made The Faculty, and I definitely had some teen angst in me," she admitted, "but now I feel very far from that. I do worry all the time, but I think I'm more comfortable now and not so unhappy with myself. It's a hard business, especially for a young girl. You get all kinds of weird body-image problems and social problems that I'd never experienced before. No one ever told me to lose weight until I started acting, and that doesn't ever feel good!"
The irony of her having to pretty up in order to play weirdo outcasts isn't lost on Clea at all. "You've got to be a skinny oddball," she said, wincing. "You've got to be a beautiful ugly girl." I only see the beauty—in fact, to me she looks spookily like a female Josh Hartnett. "I get that all the time," Clea said, lightening up. "I told Josh I wanted to have his baby so we could make little clones—the attack of the clones." Pint-sized beautiful oddballs—sounds good to me.
Thought you guys might like to read it.

Linz - April 7, 2004 02:36 PM (GMT)
I had seen that article before...where did you find it? What mag was it from?
Kate, I do not think that it is bad that you don't find Josh Harnett attractive...though if you were a TRUE Clea fan apparently you would.
HE he he...Just kidding. :D
Crystie - April 7, 2004 03:56 PM (GMT)

I have never understood the Clea/Josh resemblance thing. I just do not see it. *shakes her head*
Anyway, I hadn't read that one, I don't think. Thanks Crystie. :)
Miss A. - April 8, 2004 04:26 AM (GMT)
I think that he is mildly attractive...though i must say i can't really see the resemblence either.
Crystie - April 8, 2004 05:08 AM (GMT)

GrahamEaton - April 17, 2004 01:04 PM (GMT)
I never got the Josh Hartnett/Clea DuVall look-a-like thing, either. The only resemblence I can see is that for a while, back in the day, they had similiar hair cuts. LOL.
Crystie - April 17, 2004 01:23 PM (GMT)
i think people make the resemblance with the face shape...clea and josh both have sharp eyes and they have like the same jaws. just josh has a unibrow...and clea doesnt haha.

http://www.cleaduvall.net/index.php?x=lookalikes.phpHave any more tips?
Kate - April 21, 2004 08:01 AM (GMT)
Oh yeah! That's some nice work.
Linz - April 21, 2004 06:05 PM (GMT)
It's so weird. She really does look a lot like Clare Dannes and I adore her and had a big crush on her during My So Called Life. Weird.
Kate - April 22, 2004 09:02 AM (GMT)
Yeh, so did I. Then I saw her in Romeo and Juliet, in '96 or whenever, and thought she was kind of annoying. She's good in T3 though. :) I likes it.
Linz - April 22, 2004 04:40 PM (GMT)
I still liked her in Romeo and Juliet, and I loved her in T3 , though I was not overly impressed with the movie, it was ok, but kinda blah for a Terminator movie. Too Funny and not "scary suspenseful enough"
Kate - April 23, 2004 08:52 AM (GMT)
Hm, and Nick Stahl has worked with Clare Danes and Clea... oooh, eerie.
Yes, the T3 was a chuckle fest... I was never scared, and I didn't cry like I did in the end of T2 when he self-terminates. I still have trouble coping when people give me the "thumbs up" you know.
Linz - April 26, 2004 02:13 PM (GMT)
I hear ya. I cried when I saw T2 Too! IT was really sad cause he was so nice. In T3 though, he just tried to be funny...which isn't.
Idle_Shit - May 6, 2004 11:07 PM (GMT)
Josh Hartnett doesn't look nowt like Clea DuVall, he's not ugly and neither is she, but they don't look nothing like each other *huffs* errm anyway whats this topic about??? oh yeh that article, you know thats the best thing to happen to me today, actually bothering to read that, cause as i cannot stress enough England has NOTHING on Clea...
