Title: READ Fantasy First
GrahamEaton - March 2, 2004 05:06 AM (GMT)
Just cuz I'm curious.... although I refuse to believe that that is anything but the truth!!
Crys - March 2, 2004 07:46 AM (GMT)
I chose 2, just because I refuse to believe something like that went down and I wasn't lucky enough to see it. <_< :P
I guess I am a hopeful skeptic is what I'm tryin' to say.

Ohhh... Emma told me there was something "holy fuck" worthy on the board today.
I must be in a cynical mood or something, because I really can't see that happening... and I've tried.
*bangs head and yells at self* >< imagine it, you bastard, imagine it!

I chose #4. Even though I really...REALLY want it to be true....I doubt that it happened. But...I do think that they were probably both at this lesbian night and spoke or goofed around.
Oh well... back to pretending like it's true! :P :w00t:
p3ngu - March 2, 2004 04:21 PM (GMT)
I read that somewhere else, online. Not with so much detail. So I chose 1 :D
Crystie - March 2, 2004 09:37 PM (GMT)
yea i picked that it was true. ive heard it from too many places and if they had pics of it...which graham didnt specify...then obviously ;)

I would pay big money for pictures of that!!
Like I said... if I was false, completely false, wouldn't that have picked a bigger name to sell the story better??? I mean, what, did they just pull Clea out of a hat?
Kate - March 3, 2004 08:36 AM (GMT)
Wellll... if you know anything about hack journalism, you might know that someone who is fabricating a story does some research. It's like telling a lie with some truth in it so that it seems more beliveable.
The cynic in me feels that a simple Clea internet search would allude to lesbians... and if you are going to write a gossip column about someone, why not someone who not many people know about in a personal sense, so that it cannot be instantly fobbed off.
:/ The part of me that isn't cynical is beating the crap out of the part of me that is.

Right. But how did they get Clea? I mean, were they just sitting around and being like, hmmmmm. That girl looks like she might be a gay icon. It's not like she's THAT well known even. Outisde of Carnivale, like no one would know who she is.... and it's not like she's featured in magazines all the time. If they wanted to get a good story that alluded to a wrestling match between two women (pink and whoever else) that were in a lesbian bar and had that whole..... mystery vibe going on about their sexuality (Yes, we all know Pink has a boyfriend but she is like, definitely into women as well), wouldn't they pick out someone who people would at least know? Like.... Mel C, Sporty Spice. She was just featured in an article because she is dating a woman. Or Portia de Rossi. She is in tabloids still because she is a lesbian but it isn't really mainstream news. I mean, there are much more logical choices.....

I have to agree with you on so many levels. Why would they pick Clea out? You are right, no body really knows her, unless they are diehard fans like all of us. Hmmmmmm...Something to think about. I still hold to my partially right theory though.
Crystie - March 3, 2004 10:37 PM (GMT)
hmm doubt this is true but graham didnt mention what magazine it was....you think that the letter i put into that teen magazine with the full bio and filmography of clea got around? maybe that they watched some of those movies and thought she wasnt appropriate for a teen magazine and they just moved her up to a big gossip magazine? could be. but magazines are always looking for new faces so maybe clea did do it (but she says she doesnt party or drink or go to bars)....this is all too weird to me.

Yep, I get what you are saying :) I just don't follow the logic that because they picked Clea and not someone more famous or notoriously gay, it must be true.
Like I said, I am a cynic :/
I will go with "partially true" as well, because I think they picked up on her name because she has been seen in gay bars, and so has Pink.
hysterogenic - March 5, 2004 12:19 AM (GMT)
or maybe it is because she has played lesbian roles and her charater in Carnivale made out with that chick... so if people watched the show then they might think that she might be one in real life as well.

This is a good point.
Anyway, all the talk in the world is not going to lead us to the truth. So let's just be thankful that Graham provided us with that mental image and the possibility that it's true... :)
