Title: Ghosts Of Mars

GrahamEaton - January 31, 2004 06:44 AM (GMT)
This movie was so intensely boring. I kinda thought it was going to suck so I put off watching it for like, ever. I mean, I bought it like two months ago and I just watched it. I didn't even watch the whole thing. I turned it off pretty fast. Clea was hot though, which is always a plus.

Kate - January 31, 2004 08:53 AM (GMT)
 say it ain't so, Graham!

I am sick of being let down by movies. I just got back from Underworld. The less said about that, the better, so I will just say one thing... baaah!

So, Ghost of Mars is just a "hire it if you're bored and don't like life that much" kind of movie then?

Crys - January 31, 2004 09:12 AM (GMT)
A friend of mine got GoM for me as a birthday gift last year. I still haven't watched it, and my birthday is in June. :P

Kate - January 31, 2004 09:58 AM (GMT)
:o Nooooooooooohhhhhhhh!

Yeah. I ended up fast forwarding through it, and stopped watching before the end.

Kate - January 31, 2004 12:12 PM (GMT)
Why is it boring? Is there no action? no dialogue? Is it just a shot of a blank wall until someone walks up and says "Mars is a planet, but there's a ghost on it, sure enough" and then walks out backwards with their head bowed in boredom?

Toad_T - January 31, 2004 04:10 PM (GMT)
It's only like a bunch of "Martians" running around, screaming and cutting people's heads off...
Sad, but true: It's crap!

Dr. Nick - January 31, 2004 05:09 PM (GMT)
It's a trash movie :P if you realize that, you can actually have a lot of fun with it (especially when you're drunk  ) ... and it gets my "Clea's worst hair style"-award  (now kick my ass, Graham  )
btw Clea's fighting is really good  unfortunately she's not that good shooter :$

Lemming - January 31, 2004 08:56 PM (GMT)
I thought it was pretty good. Sure, the effects are crap and there is absolutely no plot, but i did buy the dvd, and the soundtrack seriously kicks ass.
Anyway, you can all shoot me now due to my weird oppinions.

Toad_T - January 31, 2004 10:49 PM (GMT)
Well, hmm...I should probably try watch it after I've been drinking...I guess that that would be kinda fun...Still hate the part where [SPOILER ALERT!] her character gets her head chopped off, though...

I don't really remember it being that bad...I don't remember much about the movie, but i don't remember thinking that her hair sucked...

I think the reason i found the movie so boring was because i am not into that sort of thing. Like, i think any movie i saw that was sort of along those lines i wouldnt really be in to.

Crys - February 1, 2004 04:14 AM (GMT)
I think the "worst clea hair" award should go to the end of How to Make a Monster, if I'm remembering correctly. Although, I suppose it's possible that I was just so irritated by how the movie ended, that I took it out on her hair. I do that sort of thing a lot.

GrahamEaton - February 1, 2004 06:30 AM (GMT)
I don't remember seriously hating her hair, either. But I do know that her fighting did kick ass. I watched the making of thing and she was like, marking out her moves and I was like, wow, she can kick booty.

Kate - February 1, 2004 08:35 AM (GMT)
Can't comment on Clea's hair in Ghost of Mars, but I think my avatar is from GoM, and how can a movie with goggles like that be anything other than stylistically perfect? How? Although, it might explain why that add with the women saying "I'm the make-up artist from Ghost of Mars" in it was for a vet clinic... in some way.

The hair in the final stages of How to Make a Monster was completely appropriate. Whenever I feel like a character change and a little bit of good, old-fashioned denouement, I scrape my hair up into a pony tail as hiiiigh as it will go. Then everything else is explained away really neatly. A slick back pony tail is the perfect way to say "I was a scheming bitch all along, you suck asses!"

 Huh? HtMaM scores second on my "Clea's worst hair style"-award, but for the hair style from the beginning, 'cause it looks like she'd wear a wig. :ermm:

Indeed, with the shorter hair (which is her look!) her beautiful face got a lot more attention to it, and I just love her ears :$
Anyhow, favors are different, so don't blame me

Dr. Nick, you are a gentleman of fine taste.... and I don't mean that in a cannibalistic way, I swear!

The Astronauts Wife appeared in my mailbox today! I asked her what she was doing there while I tried to pry her out with a crow bar, then she just tickled me and ran off shouting "My Queendom for a Bagel"

I sure hope the movie is less confusing.

Goodnight, and keeping watching the skeeees!

I know the topic is Ghosts of Mars but as someone brought up HtMaM has anyone else noticed that at the end in the scene with the fish tank Clea's tatoo mysteriously changes to her right! arm. Did they shoot this through a mirror? maybe it's the dodgy pirate dvd ;)

I agree with that as well, to a point. Once things started to speed up a bit though, and there was some action and it got a bit messy, I liked it well enough. *nods*

As far as her face getting having more attention brought to it, yeah, I agree that that's always a good thing. :) I just think loose hair looks better than when it's slicked back or pulled back. To each their own, eh? ^_^

I will keep my eyes on the skees. They're tricky ones, alright.

No, I noticed that too. In a film of that budget, I am pretty sure that smashing a fish tank would have been the money shot, and they wanted to get as much coverage as possible... lord love em.

(cause it was a one-take shot)

Good Crys! I knew I could count on you.

I think you hit it right on the head there!

Back to GOM, im sorry if someone already mentioned this, but any film with Clea as a woman named: Bashira Kincaid gets a double thumbs up in my book.
Im going to change my name to that later on in life so i can be called Basha for short, ooh what fun!

GrahamEaton - February 12, 2004 04:04 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I was thinking about that earlier. Well, not changing my name or going by Basha at all but how Bashira was kinda a kick-ass name and then you add Kincaid as a last name and, well, there you have it. It's pretty cool.

hysterogenic - February 14, 2004 09:38 PM (GMT)
yeah i love that name too, i dont think i would go so far as to change my own name, as i am kind of fond of it, but i would make an effort to get my friends to change their names

Sally

Lemming - February 16, 2004 11:53 AM (GMT)
OKay, so how about, you call your dog Bashira, then you can call it Bashira Kincaid and it will be the coolest dog around for having its own last name. And when its in the park you can chase it screaming Basha at the top of your voice. How much fun! :D

Crys - February 16, 2004 03:28 PM (GMT)
I think it'd be much more entertaining to name random people at the park Bashira Kincaid, and then chase them around yelling "Basha". But I suppose that's just me..

Lemming - February 16, 2004 09:54 PM (GMT)
Okay, i am so going to do that next time i take my dog. Ill start throwing balls at them to and chocolate doggy treats just for laughs. If they dont answer me, i might get violent with a lead and collar. Oh wow, it can be a new sport in the official Clea forum games. Ooh, i think a just got one of those light bulby ideas where they go ping and a light bulb shines from on top of your head....no wait, i just lent over a candle and set my hair on fire. False alarm, turns out i didnt have an idea afterall. Phew, those ideas can be dangerous.

GrahamEaton - February 17, 2004 05:24 AM (GMT)
That's a good idea. My girlfriend is going to get me a little doggy when we move into our own place and I'm trying to come up with names... Bashira's kinda cute.

Kate - February 17, 2004 07:52 AM (GMT)
That's a totally awesome name for a dog!

It's much better than Puddles, which is what I suggested my pregnant friend calls her son. She is getting back to me on that one, and if she knocks it back and I am going to put "Bashira" forward and just hope they don't move to the same park that you walk your dog... although that could be funny in a comedy or errors, "I thought our baby had less body hair than this" kind of way.
