Title: For Americans Only
Description: Sorry

GrahamEaton - January 20, 2004 07:38 AM (GMT)
So... I was shopping online and came across WalMart.com. Trust me, even though I work there, I wasn't there on purpose. I was shopping for QaF, season 2 and Walmart.com sells it for fucking cheap as hell. So that got me shopping like mad and.....

Clea movies

They don't have a bad selection. The prices aren't bad and they have some slightly harder to find movies, I said just slightly, like Slaughter Rule, How to make a monster, etc.....

But they only ship in the U.S.

BTW, they also have Laramie Project. I'm not sure why it's not on that list....

Kate - January 20, 2004 08:06 AM (GMT)
How to Make a Monster is fucking hilarious!

Linz - January 20, 2004 05:22 PM (GMT)
I thought that How to Make a Monster was horrible. But Clea was so cute in it that of course I own it. :-)

Riley - January 20, 2004 06:09 PM (GMT)
How to Make a Monster was much better then Ghosts of Mars. I could sit through HtMaM.... GoM, I left mid-way through and came back.

Lemming - January 20, 2004 08:32 PM (GMT)
I thought GoM was pretty good, but then again im a horror/gore lover so i guess i would. The soundtrack is wicked as well, i bought the dvd and soundtrack on boxing day.
Damn...only to America? That sucks because i havent seen HTMaM, or 13 conversations anywhere in the UK, nor on any online stores...nor The Slaughter Rule, nor The Laramie Project-but thats on digital in like a week, so ill be able to tape that if nessacary. You know any stores that will ship to the UK?

Dr. Nick - January 20, 2004 08:39 PM (GMT)
 You can get HtMaM, GoM & TLP at play.com without any problems!?
<_< You'll get UK PAL versions there ;)
13CoOT & TSR are not released (yet) ... don't know any release dates ... you can get 13CoOT at playusa.com though - unfortunately they don't list TSR (yet).

Lemming - January 20, 2004 08:42 PM (GMT)
Okay....so, i have to get saving, i did look on play, maybe i spelt the names wrong or something, which probably would have happened knowing me.
I bought GoM from play actually, so i have that one, just need the rest.
Do playUsa.com ship to the uk?

Dr. Nick - January 20, 2004 08:45 PM (GMT)
Just change the search to "DVD actor" and search for Clea DuVall
playusa ships from UK, so I think they'll ship to UK, too ^_^ the best thing: they ship for free

Lemming - January 20, 2004 08:49 PM (GMT)
It ships from the UK? that's pretty stupid if you ask me...hehe
Does it still convert into dollars though? Or can you pay in English?
Sorry for the questions, i understand if youre not a play expert and wish to leave me alone wondering...you always seem to be the one who comes and explains stuff to me.
Im so dumb

Dr. Nick - January 20, 2004 08:51 PM (GMT)
Well, all the time I ordered at play/playusa they charged me UKP, so I think they'll do the same for you ^_^

Lemming - January 20, 2004 08:53 PM (GMT)
OKie dokies....anyone suggest a film that is particularly good for me to buy? Excluding BIaC, GoM, Girl interrupted, Faculty and Identity, because i already posess those. Name me a dvd and ill go buy it... B)

Dr. Nick - January 20, 2004 08:57 PM (GMT)
<_< Well, HtMaM & e.g. Wildflowers have both lots of Clea in it ... TLP and The Astronauts Wife have fewer Clea, so it's up to you.

Lemming - January 20, 2004 09:01 PM (GMT)
Wildflowers? Which one would you say is better? Ill get both eventually, but im saving for a car so i really shouldnt be spending lots.
Ill limit myself to one a month, or try...not that ill stick to it, but anyways.
Your oppinion-which is the better one?

Dr. Nick - January 20, 2004 09:05 PM (GMT)
 You're saving for a car - what's the deal? You can spend UKP13 for HtMaM and Wildflowers! I don't think that UKP13 more or less would be that big problem if you really consider to buy a car.

Lemming - January 20, 2004 09:08 PM (GMT)
Im not very good at saving...and yeah, them two may cost me that, but if i start buying them, ill end up buying them all.
Oh, just for you ill buy them both...i guess the car can wait ^_^

Dr. Nick - January 20, 2004 09:10 PM (GMT)
 Wildflowers is just UKP4.49 - can't do anything wrong for that price including free shipping IMHO

Riley - January 20, 2004 09:26 PM (GMT)
Am I like the only one in the world that loved Astronauts Wife?!

iloveclea - January 21, 2004 02:34 AM (GMT)
i didn't see astronaut's wife yet, but i think that's the next clea movie i'm gonna buy. is it good??? like what's the best part of it?

Kate - January 21, 2004 08:22 AM (GMT)
I haven't seen Astronauts Wife, but I bought Wildflowers and Monster at the same time, and if I only had to buy one - I would get Wildflowers.

Maybe it was just the magic of more "Clea minutes", but I thought it was a better film. Clea is so good at showing vulnerability. Sometimes I had to hit pause and just go "woah" - whereas, in How to Make a Monster she makes brownies and shows some range, but it's a made for TV movie... you know?

Riley - January 21, 2004 12:55 PM (GMT)
First of all, I give you kudos for being able to sit through Wildflowers. Especially the "sex scene". That, to me, was very disturbing. I thought Monster was pretty cute for a TV movie. It had that little dude from Step Bt Step... so it was like... oooh, he's gone nowhere... how cute!

Astronauts wife is JUST like Devils Advocate, but with an Astronaut. And instead of the devil, it deals with aliens. Clea gets pretty decent screen time, as she is in it until beginning to almost the end... not just one scene like 21 Grams or Commited or Girl. It's got Charlize Theron and Johnny Depp in it too... so really you can't go wrong with that!

Lemming - January 21, 2004 08:12 PM (GMT)
I agree, good film if a little tedious and predictable at times.
But yeah, i have the video-too cheap to buy it so i taped it off tv.
Question, what exactly is Wildflowers and HTMaM about because i havent heard any of the reviews?

i watched wildflowers the other night and i mean... it was good. but i was confused a lot of the time. it could have made sense but cuz i was really tired and not completely paying attention the whole time, so... i dunno, but it didn't seem that bad. for a while i was confused why clea had that little kid, but then it occured to me that she was babysitting. but yeah, i watched the whole movie and i think i'm gonna watch the whole movie again this weekend and try to pay attention the whole time.

Lemming - January 22, 2004 08:39 PM (GMT)
So..good film? Right, ill buy it then.
Urgh, i hate school work, stupid college, do the teachers have nothing better to do than give me essays on stupid books that were written hundreds of years ago that make no sense and have no relevance at all to the course im studying?

Miss A. - January 23, 2004 12:02 PM (GMT)
I thought Wildflowers was alright. However, I couldn't really sit through GOM or HTMAM...they weren't really my cup of tea.

That guy was from Step By Step? Heh...I used to love that show :)

Oh yeh. I am glad I am not the only one who thought that was slightly torturous...

hysterogenic - January 25, 2004 02:36 AM (GMT)
oh i hated that, i couldnt bare to watch.. i had to clean my room and pretend i couldnt see the tv cause i was busy

Crys - January 25, 2004 08:35 AM (GMT)
I thought the Astronaut's Wife was pretty cool. It was one of those movies I could only really watch once or twice though, because the end just pissed me off that bad. And, uh... the kids at the end looked waaaaay to much like one of my nephews for me to not be like... "Uuuuh... Stay far far away from me, kiddo." :P

Crystie - January 25, 2004 03:51 PM (GMT)
Hey...I saw the Slaughter Rule. It was a pretty good movie but they sort of exaggerated cleas part in it...she didnt appear in it that much really. i thought it was still a good movie though. clea was really cute in it too. :)

Kate - January 26, 2004 12:48 AM (GMT)
Yes. I think the Slaughter Rule was a pretty good film. I enjoyed it visually and it liked the way some of the issues were dealt with (like with the coach), but by the second viewing I was like yay, CLEA scenes! ... oh football stuff - fast forward!

Lemming - January 26, 2004 09:14 PM (GMT)
Eeeww, i hate football scenes, especially American Football because i dont have a clue what the hell they are doing. it translates to: lets beat the crap out of each other for points. At least in English Rugby-which is like American football, kind of anyway, at least they dont wear all the protective padding and take the hits like men..pfft, girly americans.

iloveclea - January 26, 2004 09:59 PM (GMT)
haha... that's so funny. i was reading your post lemming and, being sheltered in my american lifestyle, i was like, you don't play football like us? how do you play it??? lol... rugby rocks though. we have rugby teams here at school and i was going to join the women's one. i like playing football, both the rugby way and the american way, but the padding is kinda massive and annoying. but it helps us hit harder and not get hurt as much as we would without the padding! ;) (i have to stick up for america a little...)

The football scenes didn't bother me as much as the hetero sex scenes did. Ugh. Clea talking condoms and sexual-ness with a guy just didn't do very much for me. Okay, it did like, negative for me. Yick.

Kate - January 27, 2004 08:57 AM (GMT)
Oh really? I thought she handled it pretty well. It was quite believable... unless you closed your eyes and covered your ears and yelled "I am not listening, lah lah lah" and convinced yourself and anyone in the room that she had a shower and felt "dirty" after doing the sex scenes, like I did.

GrahamEaton - January 27, 2004 09:00 AM (GMT)
I didn't say she didn't handle it well and I wasn't criticizing her acting......... I'm just saying that I wasn't thrilled by watching her talk about "Oh, be careful, it's still in me" or whatever....... yuck.

Kate - January 27, 2004 09:23 AM (GMT)
Not challenging you - just expressing my opinion that I thought she handled the scene well.

:) Did you read the part where I completely agreed with you?

Scene well-handled, but Icky!

oh me too... that particular part repulses me every time. clea was pretty hot though in that red little nightgown thing she was wearing... B)

Lemming - January 28, 2004 08:45 PM (GMT)
Damn, just another thing i miss out on because i havent watched the damn thing.
Oh, and we play football differently. You know Soccer? That's our football.
Its a ball, no padding, except shin pads and you kick the ball into a net. You get a goal if you score, then you have shit like the off side rule and penaltys, etc.
But basically, you can't pick up the ball, if you do its hand ball. You can do whatever with the ball so long as it doesnt touch your hands.

Crystie - January 28, 2004 11:41 PM (GMT)
yea....i love soccer. ive been playing for about 10 years. its more interesting then football to me. i really dont understand that game. the only thing i dont like about soccer is offsides cuz im a forward and i always get called for it!
-Crystie

iloveclea - January 29, 2004 12:15 AM (GMT)
yup, i know how to play soccer. i used to play it all the time growing up. american football is fun too though! usually just guys play, and there aren't any women's teams, but sometimes the guys let me play on their teams. :) by the way, the superbowl (the biggest football game of the year that lots of americans watch) is on sunday.

Kate - January 29, 2004 08:22 AM (GMT)
Yeh, I was invited to a superbowl party... in London. I was like, fella I am in another country and if I am going anywhere for a superbowl party it's America - preferably with people who don't mind me saying "Why did that guy do that?" every 3 minutes.

I don't really see what the big deal is, but I would like to find out. I think it's kind of funny watching big men in tights (oh, come on, they're tights) with huge shouder pads. Is anyone else thinking 80's power-suit here?

Just me? OK then.
