Cleaduvallslover - January 16, 2004 09:35 PM (GMT)
Mmmm This movie is gonna be produced by Lucy Lawless Husband(of Xena Fame) Rob Tapert and Sam Rami brother of Ted Rami who played Joxer on Xena, they also worked together before on projects such as spiderman, evil dead and I think resident evil. If this movie goes ahead It should be really good, Sam Rami is a genius.
Sorry Im all excitied now about this movie.

This movie actually looks like it will be a winner. I love movies like this... seems like it's going to be like "The Ring"... a nice PG-13 rating, then you get the balls scared off you. How ingenius!!!
emma - January 17, 2004 11:42 AM (GMT)
i read about this and i was like fuckin awesome i have something to tell everyone, but u beat me to it!!
not a scary movie, i've got no one to huddle up to at the movies. although i did make it through identity ok, but that wasn't really freaky. but i half watched the ring the other day and i sorta freaked out, but thats probs because i was by myself afterwards.
woo hoo can't wait!!!
hysterogenic - January 18, 2004 09:17 PM (GMT)
oh no the ring scared the shit out of me, i had to turn my tv around when i slept for like 2 weeks! but yeah i am excited about this movie from what i have heard it is sure to kick ass!

emma - January 19, 2004 11:18 AM (GMT)
i unplugged my t.v so it had no electricity at all and even then i slept facing the other wall, just in case. ahhhh im soo lame, but that's the fun of scary movies!!
Psychobitch - January 22, 2004 08:50 AM (GMT)
Well, i was never really freaked out by The Ring. The American version was okay, but the Japanese version was much better (but still not very scary). I guess I don't scare easily, being a psychobitch and all. Still, if Clea's in it I'm there, long hair or short hair. Hey, that rhymes!
Lemming - January 22, 2004 09:16 PM (GMT)
THE RING??? Noooo...i have a hilarious story about that
I was scared shitless during the film, especially on the flash back scenes through all the scary bits.
So i got home and went upstairs, but we'd had a powercut so my tv was half on, it was crackling like in the film, i screamed so loud-realised i was the only one in the house then ran downstairs and got a fire poker and sat with that and my phone on my lap.
I didnt sleep for weeks and even now i think about it at night and scare myself all over again. I need to find me some company so i dont sleep alone at night, its terrible.
Its a horrible film, bad bad bad bad
Dr. Nick - January 22, 2004 09:22 PM (GMT)
The Japanese original preserves an even darker atmosphere - so if you wanna get the hell scared out of ya, you better gonna see that ^_^
hysterogenic - January 23, 2004 01:52 AM (GMT)
Lemming, that is so fucking funny.... ur cute, lol ^_^
Crys - January 23, 2004 02:37 AM (GMT)
Oh man, if this movie is even half as scary as The Ring, I will be one happy girl (er, then again.. Clea. Happy anyway.;)). I frickin' loved The Ring 'cause it scared the hell outta me. Which is amusing, I think, cause all my friends thought it wasn't scary at all. Usually, it's the other way around - with me not being scared and them being scared. But man... that was a freaky ass movie.
GrahamEaton - January 23, 2004 04:33 AM (GMT)
I do not like scary movies at all. I was petrified to watch The Ring but my girlfriend made me and then I was like, oh, that's not really that scary. LOL. But dammit, Clea needs to stop making scary movies. I force myself to watch them.
Now that I mention it, she tends to do a lot of freaky stuff. Identity, Ghost of Mars, Faculty, Grudge, Astronaut's Wife, Little Witches (which wasn't freaky but dealt with the occult), HTMAM (I think. Haven't seen it but it's in the horror section, I believe....)
iloveclea - January 23, 2004 06:59 AM (GMT)
i like scary movies, but not really when i'm alone. i freak myself out and then i think that small animals are attacking me and someone's in my shadow following me, and all kinds of stuff. yeah i have a really wild imagination and scary movies don't help it any! i remember i watched the faculty when i was home alone one night and totally scared the living shit out of myself. i had the hardest time falling asleep after that and then i had to have my teddy bear protect me while i slept. then i woke up in the middle of the night because i thought something touched me... yeah, it was only pillow. and then i thought that something caught my ankle and i was stuck and couldn't run away... yeah, i was just tangled in my sheets. lol... needless to say, i won't watch the faculty at night by myself anymore. for some reason that movie really creeped me out. it wasn't THAT scary, but i dunno... whatever. but if i'm watching a scary movie with someone else, i'm completely fine and not paranoid/scared at all. it's weird. the being alone factor really does something to me. thank goodness my teddy bear was there to protect me! B)
GrahamEaton - January 23, 2004 07:19 AM (GMT)
Hey iloveclea.... I'm the exact same way. I freak out over the smallest things and I will seriously freak out for a really long time........ I have an overactive imagination and shit like that, just sets it off.
iloveclea - January 23, 2004 08:04 AM (GMT)
phew... i'm not the only one that scares the shit out of myself! thanks graham!
Kate - January 23, 2004 08:19 AM (GMT)
Nah, I am chickenshit too. I watched Resident Evil very late at night while I was home alone. It was scored by Marylin Manson and he used really high frequencies in some of the tracks and it freaked my dog out.
So... I was scared (yes, I know realise it isn't scary but I was obviously high) and going around locking all the doors, and my dog was tilting her head with her ears up, and I was trying to get her to stop because it was freaking me out, then my brother came to the door and I made him slide his driver's licence under the door before I would let him in.
Hmm... I am not sure why I did that...
emma - January 23, 2004 01:43 PM (GMT)
ahh, thats so cute kate ^_^. very good thinking with the liscence. i've only seen the start of resident evil, i wanna see the end.
isn't michelle in it?? i can't remember, it was like a year ago!!
Crys - January 23, 2004 02:47 PM (GMT)
I wish I could get scared like that. :ermm: Sometimes I get freaked out enough though, to where yeah, all I can do is huddle up under some blankets all curled up, and just stare at my door to make sure nothin's comin' in. And I don't sleep and it's just so fun... *blink* Oh my god, I'm the saddest girl alive. Gotta find a new way to spend my weekends. lol

Yep, Michelle R is in it. Thank god there is a woman who can play a soldier. Don't you find that in films they are usually just there to be a love interest or else they are man-hating, one dimensional characters that are the "top of their field - damn good soldier" I think she does an awesome job.

So, you've cut it down to just weekends, then? That's a good move.
Crys - January 25, 2004 08:27 AM (GMT)
Actually, I'm pretty sure I've got it all condensed into just Sunday nights now. And really, there's not much better to do on a Sunday night anway... Maybe there's hope for me yet.
Kate - January 25, 2004 11:12 AM (GMT)
I can't think of anything better to do on Sunday nights than huddling under blankets with you... but I am not really trying that hard because I have a one track mind, and it's busy right now.

Okay, one...its not cute, its stupid.
Have you lot seen Scary Movie 3?
I watched it last night, and it takes the piss out of The Ring.
I STILL GOT SCARED.
Its like a comedy and i was clinging to my friend Sarah and it was terrible.
Then, i was alone in the house again, and my dog was sratching at the door, which freaked me further, then my tv started creaking, it was fucked up.
So once again i toddled downstairs, got the fire poker and slept with the light on, with my cell phone ready with 999 typed on the screen.
Also, i got resident evil, i was expecting it to be really scary, but it was just a kick ass film.
And my dog got freaked by the high pitches to. Benji was whining and kept trying to jump on my lap-weird dog.

I'm personally all for not trying and one track minds. I say more girls should be like that. At least if it results in having somebody other than myself under my blankets.
iloveclea - January 25, 2004 11:53 PM (GMT)
for those that get showtime, you can watch the really hot show "the L word" on sunday nights, then head to the bedroom for some snuggle time
Kate - January 26, 2004 12:58 AM (GMT)
Shoot! It's not on in Australia... I am going to have to act out the scenes in my bedroom with consenting and drunken friends again, aren't I? It's a good thing I have a good imagination and a healthy supply of chroloform.

iloveclea - January 26, 2004 05:28 AM (GMT)

Kate - January 26, 2004 06:15 AM (GMT)
Thank you, iloveclea, you always know just what to say.... ;)
On a brighter note, the new season of QaF starts here tonight, and before it starts there is a program called "Inside QaF" on, with interviews and behind the scenes stuff.
:) yipee.
GrahamEaton - January 26, 2004 07:44 AM (GMT)

emma - January 29, 2004 12:17 PM (GMT)
i'm so glad the new series is here. and i missed the inside the show thingy, fuck, fuck, fuck fuck. but it was so sad at the end how brian paid that guy who looked like justin to have sex with him. i was like, ok :( , its just tv
Kate - January 30, 2004 07:09 AM (GMT)
:( Yes, you could have cut the pathos with a dull, buttery knife.
I taped the behind the scenes thing, if you want to see it.
^_^ I also experienced happiness when I watched it, because I accidentally taped the Chappelle show as well.
emma - January 30, 2004 11:26 AM (GMT)

Kate - January 31, 2004 01:42 AM (GMT)

Just read this about Grudge thought it might be of interest:-
The film centers on a curse that befalls someone who dies in the grip of a powerful rage. Those who encounter this murderous supernatural curse die, and a new one is born -- passed like a virus from victim to victim.
DuVall and Mapother play a husband and wife living in Tokyo who unwittingly encounter the violent curse of their home's previous owner. Pullman plays an English professor. Shooting starts in Tokyo later this month.
