Lemming - January 15, 2004 08:54 PM (GMT)
Im in England, and we havent got the series over here yet, but im not even sure if we're ever going to. Shock horror...
If anyone could tell me if they know if we're going to get it over here....and even better, when it may come out....I feel like im missing out.
:(
Riley - January 15, 2004 08:57 PM (GMT)
Well, I don't know if/when you'll get it overseas... it hasn't been released to DVD/VHS yet. HOWEVER... if you look on ebay, they have people auctioning VCD's with all 12 eps.
That might be the way to go for you. Hmmm... they also have a couple of people who have it on DVD for sale on ebay, but all I've seen in R1. :(

Oh, thanks a lot and it wouldnt matter, i have a mutliregion dvd player.
Yeah...i might have to do that, or wait for it to come out on dvd....it sucks being over here in England....
Anyway, thanks for your help...

You have no idea how bad I want a multi-region dvd player!!!
The US really needs to get it's act together and start selling them!!!!!!
Lemming - January 17, 2004 06:53 PM (GMT)
Awww, you can't buy them over in the US? Man that sucks for you....
Is Carnivale actually any good? I mean, i've never watched an ep and have only heard of it on here, and people are gonna say its good because it has Clea, so..is it?

I know....im glad someone agrees with me, the show does look good from what ive seen of it.
Cleaduvallslover - January 17, 2004 09:18 PM (GMT)
Surely you can remote hack your dvd players in the USA like we do in the Uk, I did it with mine, it plays any region, you can also play RCE's. What dvd player do you have ? make and model number? I can look in my magic book for you, see If its there. Might be , might not, but everything is worth a try isnt it.
Take care
Jodes.

I have a Philips DVD/580M/171
Dude, if you can find out... you will be my friend forever!!! :w00t:
Riley - January 18, 2004 05:06 AM (GMT)
Oh yes, but Carnivale is really good. If you like sci-fi and shit like that, it would be right up your alley. It's a little hard to follow... but it would be awesome to own it... because then you will be able to watch the episodes over and over and pick up the stuff you miss.
It is a really good show.

Wicked, ill definately check out the series when i can then. Maybe i can get some eps from a download site.... Anyway....I did that, i hacked into my dvd player so i should be able to play them all, but if all else fails, id use my parents one which is downstairs to do it.
Oooh, we should join a Hackers DVD Anonymous club...hehe

Nuuu, i hope it works for you, i just borrowed a dvd bought in the US from a friend and it doesnt work on my dvd player, so you better check it works first.
Mine apparently doesnt....Hmpp
Ill have to search for another one, but i dont even know the make of my player, how do you find out??
Cleaduvallslover - January 18, 2004 06:30 PM (GMT)
Look on the back of your player, it usually says the make and model number.
Dr thats the same Hack I had, but I do have others for the Philips, sometimes you need to really flow with the buttons, try it a few times.
If no go, get back to me Riley.
Jodes.
Also with some RCE discs you need to change the region settings from region 0 to the region you r playing, like manually on the remote, mine has a list going 1-9 then a 0, RCE you have to go into the hack and set 1, then go out and play.

OKay, at the back of the dvd player?
Mines a Sony....is that good or bad?
Dr. Nick - January 18, 2004 08:37 PM (GMT)
You'll probably need a chip for your Sony player in order to get it region fixed.
Lemming - January 18, 2004 08:38 PM (GMT)
Oh nuts...a chip? Are they expensive? Because if so i just can't be bothered and ill just buy a new dvd player, or watch it on my brothers and parents..hehe
Dr. Nick - January 18, 2004 08:54 PM (GMT)
Depends on the model, and the difficulty to fit it in  You'll have to do a little research for your model to be sure.
Lemming - January 19, 2004 09:27 PM (GMT)
Thanks alot, ill have to get back to you on that one....ill have to take out my dvd player, its in the wall-weird setup.
But thanks anyway
