Clancy: Okay, dudes… What’s gonna happen NEXT? Who gets off the bus?

John: I think Jonesy gets off the bus.

Clancy: Do ya?

John: I don’t think Sophie and Apollonia get off the bus.

Clancy: You think they’re both goners?

John: Yeah.

Clancy: Okay…

John: I, uh… The actress who played Sophie?

Clancy: Uh-huh…

John: I wasn’t sure quite what to think of her… She’s one of those actresses where… I mean, I thought she did a great job on the show, not her acting! I’m talking about… Like, she’s one of those women you see on TV, and you go, “Okay… I wonder what she looks like… Like, if I saw her in Letterman…” And that’s what I always think of, if I saw her on… Like she’s kinda good looking, and then at other times, she doesn’t really… Ya know, she’s not all that. And then, ya know, you wonder what she looks like in real life!

Phil: She’s like the good light/bad light attractive, like from “Seinfeld.”

John: Right, like on “Seinfeld.”

Phil: (laughing) Sometimes she looks good, and other times…

Clancy: I find her very attractive.

John: She did a wonderful job on the show. If that was her final scene, it was awesome for that actress!

Clancy: Yeah, you liked that?

John: But I gotta believe they’re bringin’ back Jonesy. You gotta keep the gimpy carnivale manager, don’tcha?

Clancy: Yeah, and maybe he’s even MORE scarred!

John: Yeah, oh absolutely! There’s more scars for Rita Sue to kiss!

Clancy: Yeah, there you go! (laughing) Rita Sue won’t be able to RESIST him if he has a couple of burn scars on him now…

John: Yeah, let me give you a burn job, Jonesy! Oh, argh!

Clancy: (laughing) You saw how excited she was when he jumped in that burning bus…

yeah i read that too,, r u sad that they r not too complimentary of clea or that her character may not be back? i can see y the avg joe schmoe male may not be too much into her in Carnivale... Most of these guys have'nt seen other movies of hers,, infact this is their first exposure to her. She is not supposed to look drop dead sullen gorgeous in the show, i mean this was the 30s, she in entirely in character for a period peice.

yeah i thought that was kind of shitty the way they talked about our Clea.

.........I think we should jump them, and spray paint Clea on their foreheads

too extreme?

I'm an average, joe blow (or was schmoe?) male but I find Clea very attractive despite the fact.

She definitely has a unique look all her own. Like you said, she's not "drop dead gorgeous", she IS supposed to be a nomad in the Depression Era, after all. I personally think "drop dead gorgeous" gets old after a while. What can I say--I love variety.

There is a lot of negative commentary about Clea based solely on her looks. Like one conversation I came across on a message board a while back:

"Eh. I hate her."

"Why?"

"I dunno. She looks like a cross between Claire Danes and a Doberman."

It is kind of sad when you think about it.

I think that that is some really horrible stuff to say. First of all, there is no way you can say Clea is unattractive. Sure, she has her moments when she's more attractive than normal but there's never a time she's unattractive. And secondly, even if Clea was unattractive, what the hell gives anyone the right to write about it and criticize her for it? Yikes.

No Sally, it's perfect.

We should tag their forehead with "I heart Clea", put bells on their nipples, and fasten their belts around their ankles so that they play music while they hop around and advertise their undying devotion to Clea.

I like the way u think Kate

If they were talking about anyone else I would find that funny, but it just makes me want to sharpen my knives and twitch nervously, for some reason. What an arsehole. Utter floccinaucinihilipilification!

(That big word was for you, Sally - it means the estimation of something as worthless - be honest, you're losening your clothing and fanning yourself right now, aren't you?) :geek:

 On the upside, I find myself oddly attracted to the Doberman up the road.

hah this thread is so old but im bored. they dont really have a right to say that clea is or is not attractive...especially if she reads that about her...how do u think that makes her feel? and i always believe quality over quantity. there are pics of clea i like better then others and movies shes in that i like better then others but shes just clea, theres no substitute for that. if she read that she was probably like who cares? i know im a great actress anyway. i liked how clancy stood up for her though...that was sweet.

I don't think that I ever read any of this thread before. I'm so glad that it was re-read and commented on. SO funny. The jerk who thought Clea was unattrative should look in the mirror. I'm willing to bet that he is overweight, balding and in his mid to late thirties with nothing better to do than critisize women on their looks cause it makes him feel better cause no one ever even looks at him. Someitmes I'm mean but it is always warrented.

Awww... 'tis a shame she doesn't look like the cookie cutter Britney Spears/Hilary Duff.

Who wants to be the same old blonde with big boobs and a perky attitude anyway? Want to talk about type cast??? The phase will pass and they'll all be Cory Feldman's... HA!

Linz - April 28, 2004 05:39 PM (GMT)
 ;) :D

Maybe not a pretty picture... but....

"Hey look! It's Cory Feldman!"

"No, that's just Britney Spears..."

Now that's funny!
