Title: Clea...a Woman Of Action?
EyeDraw - December 28, 2003 03:13 AM (GMT)
Hey gang,
I'm currently writing and drawing my own small line of comic books. I've got this idea rattling around in my head for a female vigilante story and I've been wanting to use Clea as a model for one of my characters for some time now (I generally use pics of either friends or celebrities to keep each character looking unique). I was originally going to use her likeness as a cop in my other urban thriller but I ended up scraping the character.
Anyway, I'm thinking of using her as the model for this character and I would like to hear other people's opinions. Could you see guys Clea as a vigilante running around the city, shooting guns, and killing thugs with her bare hands? I think I could see her in the role...she's got a look all to her own--a somewhat "hardened" look, if you will--which is a refreshing change of pace from other supposed "femme fatale" characters who look more at home on a runway rather than in the midst of a street fight.
Your feedback is appreciated.

i could definately see that, she has that 'ill kick ur ass' side to her. i would like to see a finished copy of that too, it sounds really cool.

Absolutely!!! I could totally get into something like that... kind of like 'The Wire' but better maybe?

The story is in the developmental stages and I'm still ironing out all the details.
Basically it's a straight revenge story, kind of like something along the lines of "The Punisher" comic book (which is due for a motion picture release sometime next year) as well as the recent Tarantino flick Kill Bill.
The character was wronged by members of a shadowy crime syndicate years ago. Now, all grown up and with training in weapons and tactics (recieved from an ex-Navy Seal), she's waging a personal war on the entire syndicate which has now grown citywide. My biggest influences for this story are John Woo's Hong Kong work (The Killer, Hard Boiled) as well as Robert Rodriguez's El Mariachi trilogy.
Expect a lot of gunplay, fistfights, colorful villains, etc...

Yup, I am planning on selling these.
I've got three of four stories in a workable draft so far and the first two are pretty short. I guess you could consider these my sci-fi/horror genres--one is about a killing machine from space, the other about a Romanian "prince" protecting concentration camp escapees from the Nazis during WWII. I may release each story individually or together. Not sure which.
The last two are my urban revenge thriller/action pieces. These are kind of long and drawn out compared to the other two so I will probably have to release each in a two part series. Of course, the story I'm using Clea in is not even near completion yet (I don't even have a name for it), though I am making progress thanks to some inspiration that struck yesterday afternoon. I will at least try to draw up some sketches of her character in between writing scripts and post them for feedback.
Just to let you know, these comics of mine are very detailed, containing an ample amount of gore, male and female nudity, and foul language. They are sort of like a chatharsis--a place for me to vent--so I rarely ever hold anything back. I don't think most people here will object to this but I'm making you all aware ahead of time.

Hey Im not one to get annoyed but this sounds like a novel im actually half way through writing, Im using Clea and Michelle Rodriguez and My main characters, Michelle's Family gets murdered by a criminal sydicate which I wont mention, But Michelle survives and goes to stay with an uncle and learns the arts and swears to kill every last one of the gang who murdered her family, somehow along the plot, she winds up with Clea, In my version they might just kick ass together cos Clea has been wronged at some stage in her life and Michelle looks after her. I wrote the first half of this some 8 months ago, Its a good idea and I also love your Idea, it rocks, Have you thought about making the transition to movie. My characters have names but I can just see them being played by Clea and Michelle, it would be dream come true.
Take care

^_^ Why not dress up like the Michelin Man  :

OMG off-topic  :P
Kate - January 14, 2004 07:46 AM (GMT)
You guys are whatever the plural of genius is.
I have fashioned a Michelin Man outfit out of pillows, tape and my cat. The cat was an accident, but I am hopless with tape. Now whenever I faint, I am well protected and everyone knows that if they hear a gentle "meow", I have fallen and I can't get up.
Thanks! :w00t:

 Well, how about to put some spirals on the Michelin Man outfit (you know, like Homer Simpson did in the episode, where the Olympic Games should come to Springfield) - so whenever you've fallen it's just "boing", and you're up again ^_^ includes a little cat-protection  off-topic again? well, who really cares, just having some fun here B)
Kate - January 14, 2004 09:36 AM (GMT)
Mr. Springy! That's a good idea.
 123 springs to flush down, 123 and spriiiiiiiings...
My cat will be balder, but happier. Sir, I thank you!
iloveclea - January 14, 2004 05:51 PM (GMT)
poor kitty! but at least we know you're ok when you faint. lol... maybe you could tape some of your cat's fur back on... actually, maybe you shouldn't play with more tape around your cat. eh, it'll grow back! :P
Kate - January 15, 2004 08:46 AM (GMT)
I gave him a comb-over and convinced him that no-one would guess he was mostly bald; not even from the back!
:/ Thank you for your caring comments during this time of personal crisis.
iloveclea - January 15, 2004 10:51 PM (GMT)
aww... i'm glad he's okay with it. ^_^
and you're welcome! we're always here for you, especially through your times of crisis! :)
hysterogenic - January 30, 2004 08:38 PM (GMT)

especially when the neighbor keeps trying to borrow it.. i mean u would think that a restraining order would get the message across but no.. just yesterday i walked outside to see him with my cat on his head.

Sally, you have got to lay down the law with those neighbours of yours. They are taking advantage of your good nature, and fondness for people with parasites.
