Title: It's A Bit Upsetting
Description: but we've moved on

Wow, this place has officially died. KS here, an old member from years ago. Y'know it's a bit saddening to see how far this place has come, only to branch away and disappear. I shared a lot of memories here [not necessarily good ones though,] but I have to say.

I'll miss this place.
Goodbye Chao Paradise. ~Kitsune Spriter

I know how you feel. I recently returned here as well. It really isn't like it was before...

I shall remain on this site 20 years from now. I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU BABY.

...Wait a second. Did you seriously just log on after God knows how long, say you were disappointed that we died, then... left again? Okay, I've told Brayden this over PM recently, and I think I should say it again...

Yes, we are dying. Yes, Chao Paradise isn't as active as it used to be. But, and I know this will sound sappy at first, every member counts! If you just pop up, announce that CP is dead (which we already know!), then leave again, it won't help us get any more members. Just one member can make a difference. There have been new members (and some returning ones) that really made a difference when they joined, and they were only one person. I can name at least three off the top of my head.

So, instead of announcing how inactive we are, then hightail it out of here, how about you join again? Plus, it's not our fault CP isn't exactly like it was in the "good old days". Not many things stay that way, unfortunately. So even though I, too, miss how CP was when I first joined, repeatedly stating that the board is dead won't help us become active again. :\

Sorry if I sound grumpy. I've just heard this one too many times before, mostly from myself. We'd really like you to become active again, Kitsune. It'd be a big help.

I think the reason for the decrease in traffic is because we have an minuscule target audience. Not a lot of people are into the whole Chao Breeding thing anymore. Sure, it was at its peak in 2004 and 2005, but looking at the here and now, people have grown out of it. And I don't think it would be any more successful if it was targeted to Sonic players in general. I don't know what are new target audience would be, but to be perfectly honest I don't think sticking with our current demographic would be the best choice. If, according to Peaches that every member counts, imagine how much a few hundred more dedicated ones would make Chao Paradise.

Yes, indeed. I'm trying to get a lot of my friends to join here. I want to revive this site. Sure, it may never be the way it was, but with all the people that left, that's no supprise.

Now it's become a message board and not a chat room. ;p Chat room message boards always have, like, 10+ people logged in. lolgaia is an example. Except they have a mindless motive to post.

Wow, I was just thinking about you a week ago Neriod! Couldn't you stay?

I was thinking about your topic that you made several months ago about that when I made my post, actually, and I agree with you. But what should we rename Chao Paradise to attract more members? If it's not based on anything in particular, the number of name possibilities is endless...

And Jaguar, even though I also don't think he should have returned just to say how disappointed he is in us, there's not really a need to say that.

Kiao - August 5, 2008 04:17 AM (GMT)
There's plenty of need to say it, Kitsune's just being a tool.

And yes, a shift in demographic is probably wise, and we've had discussions about it (kind of, because nobody ever responds anymore) in the Admin Chat.

...let's see what I can do.

Silent - August 5, 2008 04:20 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I agree. CP's more of a stomping ground to get together and just chill than a place for Chao info. I'm all for finding a similar but more broad theme to get some new blood in here.

Though I'm glad people like Brayden have come back. That's always great.
