If you find a skin you like, go ahead.
Make sure it suits the theme, though. If I see black with pink or something stupid like that, blood will spill.

We've had this same skin for nearly a year now. I think it's time for a change. Plus, it may attract newcomers also. so who really knows what will happen?

Mainly because some skins are really old, so the image host accounts of the images used in the skin have been canned due to the owner's inactivity or a lack of needed payment. Or have just deleted the account or images themselves for some other reason. The main skinner I noticed is Kman, which seems to be the same one that made the skin CP is currently using. His account is dead, so I had to upload each image manually on my own host in order to use the skin on a friend's board.
Actually I just checked now and it seems on his portfolio site, you do have to manually upload the images to your own account yourself now, so yeah. Luckily it comes with a folder containing all of the images so that you don't have to look for them within the CCS code.
