Title: Emo's Q&a
SuperSonicChao - January 2, 2007 02:28 AM (GMT)
I know you deleted it Peaches, but I actaully thought it was a good topic. It was made to avoid being called Emo and being flamed, so that enough is a good topic. No need to delete it. You can delete this again if you truly don't want it, cause this holds some advice that can be needed.

Okay, for all you people who have been insulted by the term 'emo' (which is quite a bit), then here is the (un)official Questions and Answers to the subject.
Question One: What is emo? Emo is the term used for overly-emotional or dramatic peeps over the internet. It is usually used as an insult for people who seem to demand attention and pity from others. A small paragraph concerning it is at the botton of this page.
Question Two: What is considered emo? When one says something to attract unneeded attention to themselves, such as, "ZOMG, woe is mee! My cousin got hit by a car! O NOES!" This will, instead of sorrow and deep concern like the "emo child" wants, they will most likely be flamed at.
Question Three: Then how can I avoid being called emo? By posting it at in the right place and time. You have a 99% chance of being flamed if you bring it up out of nowhere, so don't talk about your cat being diagnosed with cnacer while the people around you are talking about video games. Instead, either talk to someone privately about it, or post a topic concerning it.
Question Four: I did what you said, but this guy flamed me anyway! What did I do wrong? When you make a sorrowful topic, don't add drama-drama stuff in, like: "OMG, Fluffy meant everything 2 mee! Now my lyfe has no meening!" If you keep it non-emo-y like that, you should be okay.
Question Five: Ugh... I REALLY want to make a topic concerning how horrible my life is going, but I know I'll get flamed 'till my eyes bleed black ooze... what now? Talk to someone about it privately. But the best thing to do is to keep it off the internet. Talk about it with people around you, and if you can't do that, talk to yourself about it. Some things you can only work out on your own.
Question Six: Boy, thanks a bunch! ...Wait a sec, I just saw an emo-y post. What now? Well, there are three things you could do:
Flame him/Irony Post (more of Lance and Kiao's style) Remind him not to be so emotional, but in a non-hurtful way (more of my choice) Ignore him (probably the best choice in my honest opinion)
So the you have it: the Emo's Guide to the Galaxy Forum. Any comments or add-ons you have? D: |

Peaches, if you agreed or didn't agree with us, you could've just said so ._. Sorry? O_o
Peaches - January 2, 2007 02:36 AM (GMT)
Yeh, I've just had a really rough day, but you guys were kinda right in the first place... =^^=
But if you really do think it's true, SSC, do whatever... :P
Leo Leonardo - January 2, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
Kiao does more of the flaming (though it's sort of like reverse psychology or something), and I do more of the ironic/hypocryte stuff.

You should of flipped are names around and said perspectively
Knuxteam - January 2, 2007 03:05 AM (GMT)
I dont know why, but this topic seems unfair, irrational, and quite biased to me.
That's not what emo is, it's just what the posers made it out to be, and no I'm not emo, before you start.
Most people who are emo, have a disease, weather it's a depression or what, they have emotional diseases, and the refer to cutting themselves as reliving the pain of life, and since people never listen to them in private, they say things aloud, for pity, or attention, because if you're that insecure, depressed, and alone, you'd want attention too.
Most real emos (instead of fakers) need serious help, as into the measure
of rehab.
Also, cutting themselves is their way of reliveving the pain of life,
since they are depressed and people tease them for the way they are
they do often refer to suicide.
but Hawthrone Heights isn't helping, it's just promoting false emoing.
Please learn to respect people. Bashing people is just being immature.

Eh, you're correct and everything (save for the fact that "emo" is just a stereotype and I still think it shouldn't even be used), but me, Giga, and SSC already discussed this in the topic that Peaches made prior to this that he had deleted. Hence why it was deleted in the first place :x
Knuxteam - January 2, 2007 04:28 AM (GMT)
Then I agree to the fact that this topic should be deleted.
It's very disrespectful, and I dislike it.
(And what I ment is that emo has fallen into a sterio type diffrent from what it actully is )

Yargh, stereotypes shouldn't even be used to begin with, even if this "emo" stereotype used to have a different meaning. And the non-stereotype meaning of "emo" was originally a type of music.
Sweetie - January 2, 2007 04:18 PM (GMT)
Well, there really isn't a reason to delete this topic.
SSC has shown how to handle the stereotypical emo.
Knux and DCD have emphasized that a lot of emo people out there has a disorder, and aren't to be ignored or taken lightly.
I think that pretty much resolves everything.

Umm actually I'm trying to emphasize that "emo" is just a stereotype and shouldn't be used ._.
Knuxteam - January 2, 2007 05:03 PM (GMT)
It doesn't resolve anything. The reason why I think this topic should be deleted because it is disrespectful, and made by a bunch of morons ( sorry if someone here made it ) who don't respect others because of their conditions, and I think its very unfair.

Ok, personally, from what I've seen posted by him before, SSC is NOT a moron, neither is anyone else mentioned in this topic, or who's posted here. They have strong opinions. It is YOU who is being unfair, for calling someone a moron, when they're obviously not.
Opinions have to be slightly disrespectful to someone, otherwise they wouldn't be opinions at all.
He posted his opinions. And yes, Emo is just a stereotype to separate different kinds of people, and it is seriously annoying to have to be put into one group or another, and can't be with your friends or whatever.
It is not disrespectful, it is telling people mainly how to avoid being flamed, because of acting depressed and trying to get attention. I personally don't think there is such a thing as emo-ism, chaviness, or anything like that. It's just ridiculous.

Yay! Someone who agrees with me on that.
But yeah. Anyway, I think a protocol on how to state the problem you are having should be made instead.

I didn't say he was a moron, and If he did make it, I apologized.
Try reading ?
But with the rest of your post is agree-able, but
disrepectful ? Not only do I mean generally, but it's like attacking people.

What are we going to call the "SAD LITTLE EMO KIDS" group now, hmmm?

You guys are missing the point.
What I found in this topic was the fact that:
"This is the way I can avoid being called Emo if I have a problem!"
If someone called me emo while I was posting my problems, I would of course feel more worst.
I'm the guy who REPENTS the word emo, so I want to do the best I can to avoid anyone being called an Emo. If you read posts on how people who are ocnsidered emo are treated all over the internet, it is incredibly cruel. Some get flamed, while others talk about them. Some even said about killing them all. =/
I know you didn't mean that toward me, but that still hurt. You shouldn't call anyone a moron. Emo is a stereotype, yes. . .And I have nothing to say to that, but this topic was to AVOID being called Emo.

Thank you for clearing that up ._. I repent the word too, so yeah. Now I get where you're going at :/

Although I could say I feel sorry for the abuse of the word "emo" (since it used to be a type of music and all)

I admit that too, though now I think it's just short for 'emotional'... but I dunno.
Kiao - January 3, 2007 12:40 AM (GMT)
I am probably the only one here who truly hates emo kids with a passion. As in, would be more than happy to put emo kids to the stoning pits if he had a chance.

Erm I meant because I accidentally used the word "repent" instead of "resent". Repent means to regret/feel sorry for, while resent means hate. :x
