Chase opened his eyes slightly.

"Hmm . . . I'm sure it was here that guy said to meet. Geon, I think." He talked with a southern accent, looking around the clearing for Geon.

"Hi, are you Chase?" Geon said from behind.

"I'm fine, thanks," he said, calmly turning around to face Geon.

"Well," Geon said, getting into his fighting stance. "Ready to fight?"

"Of course," Chase answered, jumping back and getting into a fighting position.

"Alright, then! Prepare for a major beating!" Geon ran at Chase, his hand balled into a fist.

Chase prepared for a hit. But just as Geon was practically right next to him, Chase rolled to the left, coming up with a kick aimed at Geon's head.

The kick hit Geon square in the side of his head. "Oof!" Geon rolled several feet away.

Chase stood up straight, waiting for Geon.

"Ugh... you're gonna pay!!" Geon got up and raced at Chase at his top speed.

Chase waited for the last moment once again. Right then he jumped up, just barely making the time, doing a flip right over Geon, spining as fast as he could around to keep him in sight when he landed.

Geon skidded to a stop when he realized he'd never hit anything in the first place. "You're pretty quick, huh?"

"Heh. Guess I am." Chase grinned a little.

"But I can still defeat you! I just need to take it slower..." Geon closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm himself. He usually had to do so because of his hot temper.

Chase waited for Geon.

After a few moments, Geon's eyes flicked back open. "Thanks for waiting," Geon said calmer than ever. "I just have problems with my temper and have to do that once in a while." Geon now started to grin widely. "Now let's REALLY get this fight started!!!" Geon jumped into a nearby tree.

"No prob," Chase said, getting into a fighting stance again.

"I'm glad you understand." Geon said as he swiftly leaped to another tree. Then to another. And another. Soon Geon was just a colorful blur moving from tree to tree. "Don't just stand there," Geon yelled from behind Chase. "Make yer move!"

Chase smiled.

"I ain't one to go in first, y'know," he said silkily.

"Oh really? Well, I don't mind making the first move." Geon jumped to one more tree then shot out from it, fast as a falcon, straight toward Chase.

Chase braced himself, and almost "caught" Geon as he flew past, taking Chase with him.

As they both tumbled backwards, Geon flipped out of the tussle and back into a fighting stance.

Chase crashed into the ground once, but quickly used his hand to flip upright again and back into a fighting stance.

Geon smirked a bit, looking slightly impressed by the cardnial's reflexes, which were even rivaling his own.

((Speaking of cardnials, do cardnials live around where you are? Those are like the coolest birds evar.))

((I think so, I've seen a few. . .))

Chase smiled a bit again. He was also impressed.

((Luckyyy!!! Cardnials are the coolest! I wish some cardnials would fly over to my county... :<))

Geon started running at Chase once more.

((Seriously? Ya think?))

Chase waited until Geon was right next to him once again, but this time, he jumped straight up and came down on Geon with a spining kick.

((They probably wouldn't come... I'm not sure if they migrate of not... I don't know much about birds.))

"Aacck!!" Geon was forced to the ground in a cloud of dust.

Chase landed behind the crash site.

((Heh. ^^'))

Geon weakly stood back up. He jumped into the trees again.

One of Chase's hands hovered lightly over the rectangle-shaped pocket on his belt.

Geon moved from one tree to another, then perched in one. He noticed that Chase was reaching for something. Whatever's in there may be dangerous! Geon thought. I've gotta stop him! Geon jumped and tried to land a kick onto Chase.

Chase dived out of the way. His hand moved away from the pocket.

Geon caught himself so he didn't fall over when landing. He made a sharp turn then raced at Chase, running at his very fastest.

Chase jumped behind Geon, his hand on the pocket once more.

"Tell me what's in there!" Geon yelled as he swiped a punch at Chase's head, but missed.

"Why not show ya instead?" Chase suggested.

Geon was panting a bit, then said, "Fine with me!"
