Hi, I joined the beeb site about a day before I realised it was closing, and since 606 is so hideous I've chosen a new home.

You probably (won't) know me as YetAnotherFedFan from the beeb (as I've not said much in my brief time there).

In case you're wondering, my surname's Drake, hence all the duck references.

I'll go back into hiding now, I might post somewhere eventually but I'm trying to conceal my general ignorance for as long as possible.

Welcome, drakey. And don't worry; there's no expectation of vast tennis knowledge in order to post here. (Some would even suggest this board is totally devoid of tennis knowledge. :lol:) But seriously, we've got the whole spectrum here, from people who are pretty much tennis experts, to casual fans, to a few who don't even follow tennis, but have found there way onto this forum.

There is no minimum knowledge of tennis in order to post on this board btw, so hopefully that won't deter you from posting. Plus, no-one really gets too precious about their knowledge either, and really the whole purpose is to have fun yakking away rather than any self-important one-upmanship from those "in the know".. that wouldn't be much fun if you ask me..

Also, this is quite a sociable board, and there are also plenty of other topics discussed apart from tennis, incuding other sports, films, music, etc.

Hi again, drakey. I see you live in Bristol! I grew up and went to school there umpteen years ago. Whereabouts do you live and what do you do? Are you at Uni or is it your home town?

I'm at Bristol Uni (studying engineering maths :yikes: ), so I suppose I don't really live here properly, I'm actually from Stockport (nr Manchester) so its nice to get away, its much nicer here!

Having been a lurker on the beeb for about a year I'm stillfinding it a little strange without the dozens of anti Federer posts, but it certainly makes a welcome change.

Hopefully in between uni work and time spent getting over excited about the future plans of alton towers I'll be able to spend enough time on here to get to you some of you lot a bit better.

If you lurked on the BBc you migth have seen me around (less said the better probably :D ) I came over here cos I got sick of the BBC, some nasty people and boring trolls on there. I love ti cos there is a fun atmosphere, and as well as tennis (which I cant; talk 24-7) there are loads of good off topic threads and you can just have a laugh and a general chat on heyyup also. The music thread is great, our in house DJ MC Petalp :D started it off and lays down soem great tracks, as we all do, from youtube. And the X Factor Contest is great, and we've even had Big Brother on here too, both from Mr Reality TV himself the Dav :D And we even had a drunken all nighter (well I did! roflmao ).

I love Federer too, there is no bashing of him on here except the odd person who passes through and then buggers off when we retaliate. In fact there is quite a contingent of support for him. :ok:

Btw Bristol is a nice place to go to Uni, I stupidly chose outer London! roflmao What is going on with Alton Towers then? Just wondered, I come from the Midlands adn it was quite close to where I lived. :)

Ye I went to the gardens, they are so nice, botanical gardens there too. No-one fell into the lake when I was there :rolleyes:
