Does anyone know much about this tie? Am thinking of going but don't know much about it yet, i.e. where will it be, which surface, etc. Guess it's early to be deciding this yet :D I'd be interested to know where you obtain tickets for Davis Cup matches though, if anyone has any knowledge of this.
GB and Dutch teams from last Davis Cup ties played:
Andy MURRAY
Greg RUSEDSKI
Jamie BAKER
Jamie DELGADO
Robin HAASE
Raemon SLUITER
Rogier WASSEN
Peter WESSELS
I'll admit I've only really heard of Sluiter from the Dutch team, so don't know much about them.
Could be Greg's last Davis Cup match, he said recently he wanted to play one more home tie before he retires.
Could be a Murray brothers double partnership perhaps? They've been doing alright lately. But I think 3 matches for Murray in one weekend is probably too much at the moment.
Well.. the last two home games for team GB were in Eastbourne and Glasgow, so maybe the chosen surface will determine the location? :shrug:
Team GB haven't lost to Holland in the DC for donkeys, but then again they have hardly playted them either! roflmao
I doubt that it will be anywhere near as difficult to get tickets for this as it would be for SW19 btw. If you're keen to go, then maybe the LTA website might be the best bet for getting some tickets for this..
i would hope the teams to be :
* Andy Murray
* Alex Bogdanovic
* James Auckland
* Jamie Murray.
That way i think the tie will be sown up by the singles and it allows the doubles combination of Auckland/J. Murray to be tested out.
I doubt boggo will be called out though...
I doubt it will be eastbourne - Grass in April??? Dont think so...
THe powers that be werent impressed by the atmosphere so i dont think it'll be there either.
Manchester NEC sounds like a good idea to me.
henman is dropping hints that he might come back to davis cup. i never thought he'd reverse that decision. but he might.
