Title: 9/11 Anniversary
Description: wanted to pay respects to those affected
SuperBRAT - September 11, 2006 06:18 PM (GMT)
As it is that day again, just wanted to pay respects to those who lost their lives in the 9/11 terrorist attacks and offer condolence to others who were, and still are affected by the loss of friends and family. :( That's all. No political debates or anything like that. Thanks. :)

SB, only just seen this today. Thanks for what you said regarding yesterday and I know we were not the only ones on here, who about the people who had been so badly affected by the events of that terrible day.
You know they say, 20% of New Yorkers knew someone who died, or knew of someone affected by that dreadful day. :(

Great Post SB :)
That documentary last week which reconstructed peoples personal experiences really brings home what an awful day that really was. Our thoughts are with all those touched by the tragedy

...and the documentary filmed by 2 french guys, who had been filiming at one fire station for approx 6 weeks, with only one car fire happening in all that time.
They just happened to be filming a probationary firefighter on the streets a few blocks away when the first plane hit. They were also recording in the foyer of Tower 1, when the 2nd tower collapsed. They actually heard this awful roar as the 1st tower took around 20 secs to collapse. They imediately evacuated and thankfully the 2 guys and all the firefighters from the one station got out safely as the 2nd tower collapsed behind them. Extraodinary footage of people running for their lives. The Father attached to their unit sadly died and was actually the first reported casualty of the day, recorded at No. 00001.
