Murray currently 2-1 down, and a break down. He got broken first game, then gonzo held to love, and then murray scraped through the last game. murray has hit 2 winners compared to the chileans 5 and murray has already hit more unforced errors

Murray 2-2 Gonzalez
Much better from Murray as he earns two break points. Gonzalez saves the first with a rare volley but a forehand drifts wide on the second and Murray is back on level terms.
Murray 1-2 Gonzalez
Murray needs to get a few first serves in. Gonzalez is crunching his returns off the teenager's second delivery - but Murray comes through from deuce.
Murray 0-2 Gonzalez
Easy for Gonzalez as the Chilean holds to love.
Murray 0-1 Gonzalez
After the emotion of Andre Agassi's final farewell, it's fair to say not many New Yorkers will be too fussed about this encounter but there's a small group of Chileans noisily supporting Gonazalez on Grandstand. They're delighted as their man breaks thanks to a slow start from Murray.

murray was 30-40 down and he double faulted, trying to hit his second serve like his first

oh well lol who cares lets do it anyway
Murray 2-3 Gonzalez
Murray looks up at coach Brad Gilbert and utters a few words his mother wouldn't approve of as he lose serve for a second time. He's clearly worried by Gonzalez's return and that forced him into a double fault on break point.
hello - September 3, 2006 07:37 PM (GMT)
Cmon andy, he breaks AGAIN!!!!! 3-3
Scotsguy - September 3, 2006 07:38 PM (GMT)

Murray 3-3 Gonzalez
Just as well Murray's return is the best part of his strength. Gonzalez looks frustrated and so he should be. Now, can Murray hold serve for only the second time in the match?
SerenaW19 - September 3, 2006 07:39 PM (GMT)
This shaping up to be one of those matches with more breaks than holds
Andy has such an erratic serve.

Murray 4-3 Gonzalez
Murray pumps his fist as he holds to 15 and goes ahead for the first time. Gonzalez looks a little hard done by with a call on one of the sidelines but since we're on Grandstand, there are no challenges and the Chilean has to accept it.

SerenaW19 - September 3, 2006 07:57 PM (GMT)
meanwhile, Roddick drops the first set 6-7 but has the break in the second. Andy is playing well but he's still not quite back to his best yet....
Scotsguy - September 3, 2006 07:58 PM (GMT)
Murray 5-3 Gonzalez
An epic game goes Murray's way and he will serve for the set. The teenager's much greater variety of shot is beginning to tell on the hard-hitting Gonzalez.
Murray 6-3 Gonzalez
The set didn't start out too well but Murray ends it in emphatic manner with a love game
Scotsguy - September 3, 2006 07:59 PM (GMT)
The 2 Andy's=Unbeatable combination :D :D :D :D

They could get quite a good little rivalry going couldn't they if Roddick gets back to his best ;)

Sorry for the dissappearance act folks was eating dinner
Murray 6-3 3-6 Gonzalez
Gonzalez is like a man possessed all of a sudden, and Murray can't handle it. The teenager misses a simple volley to give his opponent three set points. He takes the second and it's one set all.
Murray 6-3 3-5 Gonzalez
Gonzalez turns to the crowd and yells "Vamos" as he sends a stunning pass down the line. The inspired Chilean sticks another forehand down the opposite line and he will serve to level the match.
Murray 6-3 3-4 Gonzalez
Gonzalez edges ahead again and in a tense second set, it's a question of who will blink first.
Murray 6-3 3-3 Gonzalez
Gonzalez produces a remarkable backhand return winner and nearly repeats the trick on the next point but only finds the net. He's clearly decided the only way to get past Murray is to overpower him but the teenager is weathering the storm quite comfortably at the moment.
Murray 6-3 2-3 Gonzalez
We've hit a lull but it's unlikely to last long with the set reaching its climax.
Murray 6-3 2-2 Gonzalez
Gonzalez's new coach Larry Stefanki has clearly tried to introduce some guile into the Chilean's game but sometimes you just wish he would go back to hitting it as hard as he can. In this game, he does. But the majority of his returns hit the net.
Murray 6-3 1-2 Gonzalez
Gonzalez is keeping his head for the moment, his serve keeping Murray on the back foot.
Murray 6-3 1-1 Gonzalez
Murray responds in kind. You would not guess that Gonzalez is the higher ranked player at the moment.
Murray 6-3 0-1 Gonzalez
Gonzalez opens with a love service game to give his confidence a boost.

Murray 6-3 3-6 1-2 Gonzalez
The point of the match so far sees some brutal hitting from Gonzalez sending Murray scurrying all over the court. The Briton does well to stay in the point as long he does but he nets his last effort and then double-faults to concede his serve.
Murray 6-3 3-6 1-1 Gonzalez
Murray makes Gonzalez pay for a weak volley by sending it back past the 11th seed but the teenager loses the momentum with a poor return on the next point and Gonzalez survives.
Murray 6-3 3-6 1-0 Gonzalez
Gonzalez retreats back into his shell to allow Murray an easy start to the third set. A strangely lacklustre game from the Chilean.
hello - September 3, 2006 08:52 PM (GMT)
gonzo takes the third 6-2
Scotsguy - September 3, 2006 09:17 PM (GMT)
Murray leading 4-3 in the 4th set on serve..

murray breaks in style, and then serves out the set. Can he take a five setter? only time will tell. should be a classic.
