Title: Some Art...?

Silver - September 2, 2006 02:44 PM (GMT)
I'm a bit hesitant to post this topic, in case I'm the only one who draws or writes, but...does anybody want to show off some stuff they do in their spare time, maybe? :)

Or do I have to post some of my own images? :giggle:

JHH_AM_RN - September 2, 2006 02:46 PM (GMT)
Yeah I do painting and I some times write stories....I show some at a later date as I have to depart just the now.

Silver - September 2, 2006 02:49 PM (GMT)
Yay! Sounds good Caz. :)

Nice banner in your sig, btw. :P

JHH_AM_RN - September 2, 2006 05:50 PM (GMT)
It is coming peeps but all my art works on A3 paper...to big for the scanner

JHH_AM_RN - September 2, 2006 05:56 PM (GMT)

Is it just me or has it not loaded up properly?

I don't think the images can be above 150 x 150 pixels; or is that just for the avatar? Anyway try down sizing it on photo editing software if it's not coming out properly.

CD design done for a project....ignore the dodgy cutting in the letters!

SerenaW19 - September 2, 2006 07:24 PM (GMT)
The CD design is really cool!

I wish I could draw :(

Silver - September 2, 2006 07:34 PM (GMT)
That Pegasus is just awesome. :D

And the CD cover is nice, too. I don't suppose it was for a single called Trains, was it?

One of the characters from my novel, named Jessica. She's meant to be someone very bright, upbeat and kindhearted, but someone who also shoulders far too many burdens to be healthy for her, as she tries to help others far too much.

Another rough sketch, of someone else in my novel, who doesn't normally show his face!

Another one named Olivia Telles, a new character I've just introduced in the novel.

These are the kind of things I do, simple line drawings followed by an inordinate amount of shading...unfortunately it takes me aaaages to draw. :(

But yeah! That's some of my stuff. I mostly do character art for my own novel. :)

welshboy91 - September 3, 2006 08:38 AM (GMT)
your writing a novel? :o

I can't draw at all; i was absolutely terrible at art

Silver - September 3, 2006 09:49 AM (GMT)
Yup, I'm in the middle of writing it, hehe.

And drawing just takes practise, really. :)

Good drawings. Silver..!

I guess that you might be into Anime/ Manga??

Silver - September 3, 2006 10:18 AM (GMT)
Hehe, sure am. :) I like loads of anime, it's kinda where I started drawing- perhaps it shines through a bit into my drawings. :P

And thank you. :)

JHH_AM_RN - September 4, 2006 04:52 PM (GMT)
Wow silver there awsome!
great sketches and from the sounds of it the novel's shaping up nicely!

Silver - October 16, 2006 09:42 PM (GMT)
Heh, thank you very much. :)

The Dav - October 16, 2006 09:48 PM (GMT)
Those sketches are terrific Silver :o

Have you got a title for your novel?

Silver - October 16, 2006 09:58 PM (GMT)
Yup yup! It's a working title (hence the cheese :P), but it's called 'A New Era'.

That's the first one, at any rate...300 pages currently, and that might go up once I proofread it. The sequel's not finished yet, around 280 pages with four chapters still to go.

Yep, I've had too much time over the last two years. :P

Also, nice to see you again Dav! I think we spoke a few times on the BBC, before you left for a while- how are you? :)

Well congrats  I wish I could write a novel, I can't seem to get past 'Once upon a time...' roflmao

Yeah, I think you joined here when I went to the States a while back, nice to see you again :)

Silver - October 16, 2006 10:07 PM (GMT)
Hehe, thanks man! It just takes (too much) time, and being willing to soldier ahead on MS Word despite an obvious lack of talent, especially in my case. ;)

'tis nice to see you as well, hope you had a fun time in the states. :D

Cheers Styeff..

I do like em myself but as I hadn't painted for a while, I see many things on them that ain't great.. brushwork and choice of colour etc..

I do enjoy painting and art but don't have the time or patience these days.. something for later in life I think

Gav - September 23, 2007 03:48 PM (GMT)

Some very good works of art in this thread...

I am a guy who aspires to write a novel. Unfortunately, the sad truth is that I can't write. I lack creativity and writing skills. I also happen to be impatient and try to get away with the minimum amount of work, so all in all, I'm shite, really. I'm a bit like Adrian Mole: we both think that we are intellectuals, that we will one day become famous and that we are destined to become writers. Except that Adrian does at least work hard on his novel.
The truth is, our destiny lies in a society that fights for amphibians' rights.

i think you've got Death off to a tee, having said that i thought he might be darker, and his his hands don't look big enough to wield the axe he's holding, maybe that's way the population keeps rising-he's having difficulty with his chopper.
