Thanks for the summary, Scotsguy. :)
Some really great matches coming up! I always considered Warwrinka and Soderling (along with a few others) to be two of the best 'players who never seem to be seeded at a slam'. :P I love Wawrinka's backhand too.
Safin vs Nalbandian will the one to watch for me. :)

Hope Agassi wins.
It would bring back some memories to see a third round matchup of:
A. Agassi v. B. Becker
:D
Scotsguy - August 31, 2006 03:17 PM (GMT)
Only 2 matches at the moment
(6)Robredo vs Lee 2-1 (a break)
Soderling vs Wawrinka 0-1

Amazing play in the second set of Horna-Nadal. Horna goes down a break early and seems to be getting frustrated. Then he manages to break back, with what may well be the point of the tournament so far - amazing stuff.
He then hold serve twice, and takes the set from Nadal, 6-5, hitting at everything in range like a man possessed.
He can't keep it up though, and gets broken straight away in the third. Surely he can't do the same thing here? He's got to be getting tired.
Anyone else watching this?
scolios - August 31, 2006 09:07 PM (GMT)
Yes, I did watch it - the traditional wild horses wouldn't have dragged me away! Some amazing shots from Horna, but too many UEs too, so he couldn't maintain the momentum. A couple of calls went against him, too (wrong calls) which could possibly have changed the course of the match, although I rather doubt it. Nadal may not have been playing his best, but he was better. My God, that kid has stamina! It's awesome!

I agree - it never really seemed as though Nadal was going to lose this. With a bit more luck, Horna might have gotten another set though - you've got to give him credit for trying his best. This was certainly much more exciting than I anticipated.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Becker has taken the first set from Grosjean. Can he pull off the upset? Not likely, perhaps, but not impossible. In any case, I'd like my fellow German to do well - and it's always good to have a B. Becker in the tournament, anyway ;)

And he's taken the second set; still on serve in the third. Becker is playing well, while Grosjean isn't doing that well, and beginning to look increasingly desperate. Becker's got to be the favorite now to take this match. Let's not be hasty, though - Grosjean may still have a few shots up his sleeve.

Absolutely.. Seba is a canny player, and has come from 2-0 down in the past. Certainly not over yet, that one..

And he's broken Grosjean in the third set, as well. Things aren't looking good for the Frenchman.
GO BORIS (ahemm Benjamin) ;)

So, will it be A. Agassi v. B. Becker for one last time?
