Title: CC outage

admin - September 25, 2008 10:39 AM (GMT)
Hi folks,

Sorry about the fact the new CC is down. We have apparently been hit by a large scale denial of service attck where our hosts were getting over 500mb of data a second sent at the site. They were unsure where this was coming from before but as I understand it they now do so hopefully the downtime won't last much longer...

That new site seems even less reliable than this old one (though this one had its share of problems, too).

I see Donut Dave got the win over Murray. Good to see Nalby back in some form. If he wins the next round (presumably against Nadal) it will most likely earn him a spot in Shanghai.

Of course, maybe his opponent will be Davydenko. Davy just went up a double break in the first set 4-1.

Hi Nick

How ironic the board is down on what might be the day of most shocks in Paris! Roger has pulled out and Rafa is injured, which accounts for the score in Davydenko's favour.

Nadal retires.....

I didn't realize Roger was out. That means Blake goes through to the semis, so it's looking like we could have one of these guys nip into the top eight. If I did my math right, I think a final with Nalby winning over Blake would put both of them into Paris, edging out Del Potro.

I think Tsonga can also still qualify if he reaches the final.

I think he'd have to win the tournament to qualify, but he's still in with a shot. Nalby over Blake is, I think, the only way that Del Potro could get squeezed out, though.

Actually, on double-checking the points, Tsonga might qualify by making the final here. That would put him past Simon into 8th place, but if he were to then lose to Nalbandian in the final, then Nalby would move ahead of him.

 Roddick had Tsonga under pressure throughout the second set, but couldn't convert on any of his 10 break chances. Tsonga finally got a break opportunity late in the set and snatched the set from under Andy.

It's now 7-5 4-6 3-3
