Unfortunately, HP, we all have to live with our pasts. You even acknowledge it somewhat, yourself, by saying that you don't want people to think you still do that kind of thing.

When you have a history (especially if it involves mistrust), you can't just tell people that you've changed and expect it to be meaningful. They have to experience it for themselves over time.

Well we all have our past but HP by my reckoning has posted sensibly and contributed well for the last year. Perhaps we can leave the past behind us all, like HP seems to have done as he has matured.

I agree, but I was just trying to convey that you can't expect everyone to forget your past. If one cheeky little comment like that makes him "blow a fuse," then he doesn't seem, IMO, to have the proper perspective on the reputation that he created for himself.

As an example, I would put forward Wise_Analyst. He had the reputation, and rightfully so, of just being a wind-up. Most people don't think of him that way now, because he doesn't post the same way, even if he might still get a little joy every time Federer loses (unless he picked him to win in the BotB ;)). But does he still take a little ribbing about his past? Sure, he does.
