Before last year's Wimbledon final I'd have said Fed was closer to Nadal on clay than Nadal was to Fed on grass, in fact I think I did, but now I certainly think that has reversed.
Wimbledon will certainly be interesting.

Depends on where Djoko is in the draw. If he is in the same draw, I doubt Nadal 'll pass by him. Grass is slower nowadays but it is not clay yet. I thought Fed played average last year for the whole tournament, but I m hoping he will be able to reproduce some of his 05 and 06 form. It's all in the head. And his volleys were pretty good despite his defeat yesterday so that could be something he can cheer on going to SW19.

I agree as Djoko is IMO very suited to making a Wimby final. Last year he had to retire v Nadal due to injury.
There are also a lot of experienced dangerous guys who have much more prowess on grass than they do when on the clay where Nadal dominates. They coudl take out anyone. I'm eye on Hewitt this Wimby as a low seed, and hoping for better form Karlovic and also Ancic. We have A Rod too who if playing well can do semis, and of course the unpredicatble Gasquet, and I do think Murray has a much better shot at Wimby than RG, more decnt than folks might expect. Must see the draw first though.

I would have thought that an endorsement from Borg is the last thing that either of them want after his bigging up of Fed before the Roland Garros massacre.
Having said all that, going by the finals of 2006, 2007, and 2008, the gap seems to be narrowing on grass and widening on clay.
I think it's all in the head for Fed and I hope that after he has got some grass under his feet at Halle he'll be ready and up for it at Wimbledon. I wonder if last year's little experiment of not playing on grass before Wimbledon meant that he was much slower into his game than normal (until the last 5 games of the final set to be precise) - which was exacerbated by the fact that he missed out on one round due to his opponent scratching and also that he did not play for about 4 days in the second week.
I hope that playing Halle this year turns out to be a good move for him.
