Yes, who can forget that final, it really resurrected Lindsay's career :D

I was devastated when Venus lost that match, but i realised it was a turning point in Lindsay's career. If it hadnt for that final, Lindsay would probably be commentating for ESPN right now roflmao

Yeah, that was a tough loss for Venus, but she made up for it a year later ;)

I remember venus also having a 5-0 first set lead in lA against lindsay that year, and then lost the next 7 games before retiring roflmao

All in all a bad year for venus against lindsay, after venus lost to lindsay at the Open as well. Venus was so uninspiring that Open, she was lucky to push Lindsay as well as she did............ :blink:

And then she lost again in Amelia Island, that one shocked me :o

But in all the great rivalries, things have to be close, and Venus-Lindsay is one of the all-time greats :D

I know, I'd love to download that match, it seemed to be a pretty good one, Lindsay saving quite a few bps in the decider, should have been the final really...

But I was thrilled with that win, got Lindsay her 3rd AI title :D

Yeah venus always seems to be a launch-pad for great Lindsay results, except at the US Open 2004...............

I enjoyed the final of AI last year though, i thought Farina Elia gave lindsay a great test :D
