SuperBRAT - May 7, 2008 10:02 AM (GMT)
Review of the Day :D

WTA: Dushevina beating Schnyder was quite shocking; hardly surprising no one picked it. Only me and GS picked Dulko over Vaidisova, but Nicole has been playing awful so it was a good 'upset' to pick. Peng and Craybas confused us (well done Viva and Jo :ok: ) and we all picked Azarenka but only Viva got 2-0. More confidence needed in Bartoli, but high confidence in Dementieva and Serena paid off. :ok:

ATP: Quite a few matches threw us. No one picked Lapentti, and only Viva picked Karlovic - what was PHM doing losing 2-0? Tsonga confirmed fears that he might not be good on clay, Al and fah predicting his demise to Simon 2-0  Only Viva and GS got Verdasco beating Moya, and that Gonzo v Tipsy epic split opinion, Viva was spot on with the score though :ok: A littl emore confidence in Ancic. Roddick and Robredo would have boosted points as they won in straights, and little less in Ferrero who dropped a set was needed. Great to see the confidence in Federer though who everyone picked to beat his old foe Canas 2-0.

Here's DAY 1 SCORES

Out of 36 points ATP and 21 Points WTA, total 57points

Viva 33 (23 ATP/10 WTA)

Amazing score from Viva in the ATP, the only matches he got the wrong winner for were Lapentti, Acasuso and Simon  Well done :ok:

Day 2 Review

WTA: Pretty much as predicted, although congrats to fah for getting the Azarenka match spot on and prediting Petrova going out  Good job the womens were quite predictable given the mens!

ATP: oh lord, where do I start? :yikes: Unsurprisingly no one got LCF's victory and only Viva got Stepanek  GS 2 picks up a point for Almgro's shock win. :ok: We were under confident on Gonzo, Davydenko and Bolleli's straight setters and Wawrink upsetting Murray upset us!

[8] M Bartoli (FRA) vs [10] A Szavay (HUN) 0-2
G Dulko (ARG) vs V Azarenka (BLR) 0-2

Review:

WTA: Our most successful result was thanks to this recent new found confidence in Dementieva winning 2-0, and the girl keeps delivering lately - such a change :ok: :slap: Surprisingly (well to me anyway)confidence in Serena and Jelena was a bit low, quite a few points lost predicting them to drop sets. But we were too confident about Ana who struggled for about 2.5 hours against Bammer, and no one expected Henin and Kuzzy to lose to Safina and Bondarenko espectively. :yikes: Everyone except me  got Szavay but only Viva got the right score  Then we are left with the tricky Azarenka v Dulko - Azarenka repeated exactly what happened the last time they met on clay winning 2-0 match - only Al and Jo got that bang on and I snook a meagre 1 point. :phew:

ATP: We all did well from confidence in Fed :ok: Ditto Djoko, SB/Jo/Al getting the score right, and Stepanek with fah/GS and Jo getting top points. In the rest, most of us didn't even get the right winner, but well done to GS and Viva for getting Robredo 2-1 - I am still in shock - and SB/Jo who were the only folks to back Blake and got the score right too - what an epic that was. :phew: Wortst scoring matches - we all expected Stan and JCF to be a tighter affair, and only Jo/Al/Viva got the right winner. Everyone except me and Viva predicted Bolelli to beat A-Rod, and we both got the score wrong. Not a great day but coudl have been worse :D Sadly Gonzo withdrew giving Almagro a W/O to th enext round, voiding that match. :(

ATP
[8] J. Blake(USA) vs S. Wawrinka (SUI) 1-2

Safina vs. S.Williams 2-1
Dementieva vs. Jankovic 2-1
Szavay vs. Ivanovic 1-2

Review: a strange day that really did not go to form as the 2-0 system showed, picking up only 2 out fo 21 points! :yikes: Bad luck Al

WTA: 3 were technically upsets, except the one fancied to be with Szavay unlucky not to take Ana out. Well done Jo/fah/GS for 2-1 Ana :ok: Dem was a possible upset, no one picked it. Safina put in a stunning performance to take out Serena; Viva got it spot on  Viva, GS and SB picked Azarenka :ok:

ATP: A strange day  Spectacular Stepanek performance  unsurprisingly no one got that right. Jo, SB and Al got an A-Rod win, and most got Stan the Man over Blake but only fah/Jo got max points. :ok: Sadly poor Almagro was forced to retire despite a very fancied chance to beat Djokovic. :( Hope he recovers soon :ok:

REVIEW:

ATP: dire, both singles ended in injury WTA :( The Bryans won too easily to get many points, and Al, fah, Viva and SB score for Nestor/ Zimonjic. :ok:

WTA: One doubles ended in reitrment, the other was an utter shock with th eladies with the very long Spanish names beating the number 2 seeds 2-1. Everyone got Safina but most were under confident with only GS and SB getting 2-0. Misplaced confidence in Ivanovic this time as Dem crushed her in 2 sets, only SB and GS got a Dem win. :ok:
