Allrighty, I’m so excited I’m going to Rome Monday with a season ticket under my belt. I’m going to spend as much time as possible (or as my wife + kids allow me to..) between the courts. It’s all looking good; top players are fit, sunny weather and a interesting draw. A quite demanding one for Federer though. Then again; a first round against Canas should help him to focus from day 1.
Nadal can’t complain; his real contenders are on the other side (Nalby, Ferrer, Djoko). It would be great to see, just like last year in Rome, a Davy-Nadal semi, one of the best matches of last year.
Djoko could face some serious resistance; Darcis is well able to peak once in a while (won last year the clay tourney of Amersfoort, beating Igor and Youznhy on his way to the final) and a possible second round against Igor isn’t a sinecure either.
