Two rubbers to play, and two rubbers we have to win. With Murray struggling with his health again and Boggo low on confidence do GB stand a chance now in this tie???

Well.. Murray should win his rubber..

The final rubber is the one that is the real unknown quantity!! I mean, who from either team is going to play?

Regardless of who it is, the outcome will no doubt depend on who turns up with a semi-decent game.. and that's not a foregone conclusion from either side right now, whether due to possible fatigue (Ram), poor form/ confidence (Boggo).

Intriguing..

Well this is the fourth time we have played Israel in Davis Cup and have won the previous three ties so a loss here would be pretty bad news. There is something on the beeb about Murray having a neck injury ( ) too so i hope that isn't serious.

I have been reading that Murray is an injury doubt for tommorow!!!! Im sure he will play but question is just how fit will he be!

Well.. his back played up, big time against Monfils at the French Open, and everyone wondered if he might be ok for Wimbledon.. and then off he goes and plays doubles the next day!!!

If that sort of recuperative process is anything to go by then he'll be raring to go already ;)

I can't see Team GB managing to win- Boggo will never hold it together enough to win a deciding rubber. Although really, we aren't THAT far off world group standard- think of Switzerland or Australia, they each have one star player who accries weaker ones. If Murray got to top 10 or 20, and greg or someone new played as well, then you'll find we aren't that different from more elite teams than us. :(

I'd agree that the star player plus a good-ish player is the norm. I'd also add that many teams have a good doubles specialist too, and it's not necessarily the two singles players both playing the doubles too..

It's over now :( Murray has withdrawn from the fourth rubber with shoulder and neck injuries. Jamie Delgado is expected to step into his shoes.

Hey Apples..

Nice avatar!

Hmm, it isn't looking good with Murray being out, but Delgado seems to be playing well in the rubber so far..

Best to think positive.. it's a real chance for Dellgado to win his first rubber if he keeps this level up :)

hey petalp,

i'll try to think positively but delgado is now down a set and a break :yikes: he needs a quick break in my opinion or this tie could run away from us.

Yes, it's not looking so good, is it Apples! :(

I think that Delgado's got the game; he just needs to cut out the doubles faults, and maintain a positive approach to his strokeplay, and then just see where it takes him.

It's interesting that he was world junior champion.. Just shows that success at a junior level doesn't necessarily translate to success at a senior level..

Yes what a shame for Delgado, I think he deserves every creidt - he really gave his all and was unlucky not to have won that match, he did coem back from 2 sets down. And bad luck to him in doubles too. He really rasied hsi level for this tie - what the hell happened with Boggo? :o
