GB should have a good chance against Austria really. Also, looks like Switzerland should be able to return to the world group, with Roger presumably in action for the tie.

Could have been worse. I'd be most nervous of Croatia obviously and Australia as they have Hewitt and Guccione.

Duh.

Promotion to World Group awaits.

Instant relegation also awaits.

Unless, of course, Andy Murray is fit, willing and able to play and win three best-of-five-setters in three days.

Has my in-depth analysis missed anything?

No, I think that's pretty much it. :D

Andy should win his singles matches without too many problems. The Austrians have pretty strong doubles players, so Jamie's form will be almost as important as Andy's for Britain.

Unless one of the 'other' singles players manages to actually win a match ...

Now I've just remebered that they have Koubek as well as Meltzer I am feeling concerned.

I woudl have prefered to get Korea or Israel - at least I think so. Lee is a tough cookie though considering his age, nto sure who else Korea have except Udomchoke. I guess Isreal have Sela and Andy Ram and Erlich woudl trach the doubles team.

Face ti we are in the shit aren't we?

well it's gonna depend on Andy I think  we're also at home which will give a slight advantage i reckon. it's possible that Lloyd might risk it and put another doubles specialist on the team with Jamie - Auckland has been doing ok in the doubles i think

Yeah this is the problem - everything depends on poor Andy ad although on paper he can beat the guys, folks fight hard in DC and he's got a packed schedule too and might be knackered or injured by then. And then there is the doubles - Jamie is excellent but we don'ty have another world class doubles player. And we realyl can't steetch Andy to playing 3 matches.

You know if ti were to be on grass I still think Henman would be useful beatign the younger lower ranked guys cos he is just such a great player on that surface. In fact why not bring him out for the doubles? Him and Jamie were really good. I knwo I shouldn't be saying to brign him out but i do think he'd give us a chance in the doubles.
